This place is very beautiful and big on the inside, great for getting together with family and friends or maybe enjoy a drink. The food was okay. We've had better food in New Mexico. After eating half of my burrito I came across a long piece of hair which made me lose my appetite. After bringing it to the managers attention they did comp the meal and offer to make me something new. My husband got the shrimp cocktail which he said was okay. Our waitress was amazing and service is great otherwise read more

Chilitos - Crispy beef tacos with rice and beans - Mexican Near Me - Las Cruces, New Mexico

This place was my daughter's choice for her 17th birthday celebration. The food was ok. My tostada compuesta consisted of a huge chunk of fried dough with scarce green chilie meat. This is not the tostada compuseta that I had in mind. I left most of it on the table. Our water glasses were refilled once. We didn't see our waitress so we could ask for more, and we had to wave her down so we could pay our bill. I was asking the waitress if they had a dessert for the birthday girl and before I could get my words out she informed me that they didn't give out birthday desserts only a solpapia. My daughter saw her bothered response and didn't want anything. I was going to ask for a dessert, not a free one, just one that we could sing to her with. read more

Absolute worst food and service I've had in Las Cruces. When my wife and I arrived, I was carrying my one year old daughter and the hostess at the front asked if we needed a high chair. We said yes and she took us to the table and walked back to the front to go back on her phone. We had to go to the back by the restrooms to get our own high chair like the peasants we must have been. Thanks for the help, kid. Hope you're not asking for a pay raise any time soon because your attitude alone isn't worth a tip let along minimum wage. Now for the food. Honestly, I have to take some of the blame. Ordered a carne asada burrito and the menu no joke had just carne asada and grilled onions. Not only were those the only two things in there, but the meat was overcooked and tasted like it had been sitting in a warmer for hours. The onions were almost non-existent. Thankfully our waitress was professional and took the remaining nine tenths of the burrito back to the kitchen and struck it off our bill. Just don't eat here. You'll be treated better at a Taco Bell. read more

Salsa tasted like Ketchup, very bland main dish, then told we got charged an extra $1.99 for a small chips refill. Do not waste your money! Not what I expected for a $50 Lunch for two people. Very surprised they are still in business. read more

Service was horrible waitress was really really rude and kept snapping at me and the people at my table she did not say excuse me at all when serving and just threw stuff on our table on top of things. Food was good but the shredded beef was really dry and the salsa was tasteless the fried were good. Ambiance was good really nice place looks beautiful. read more

I work in the area and have ordered pickup a few times, This will be my last, The food is ALWAYS seeping out of the container like they just throw it in, NEVER once have the provide salsa or even asked if I wanted any, They simply put out the vibe that they don't care....at all, I will not set foot in the place again, Taco Bell does a better job, They have lost my business for good! read more

Normally would not write a review. The last couple of times I have eaten here the quality of food and service at this restaurants has decreased while the cost increased. I ordered breakfast. Eggs, bacon because they were out of sausage and hash brown. The bacon was burned black and was still served to me, no refills on the drinks. I ordered more salsa and there was a charge for an extra salsa. Make sure you conserve your salsa, I guess business is not that good if you're charging for an extra salsa. It's just a shame that this restaurant's food quality and service is going downhill. I use to eat here at least once a week. I think this will be my last time eating here or at least at the location on Foot Hills. read more

Chilito's is consistently good NEW Mexican food. Notice the NEW Mexican food part. There is a big difference so all you folks from California can either go to Alanberto's or learn to love our style of cooking. Chilito's represents the Mesilla Valley very well and I am a big fan. The salsa is some of my favorite in town and their crispy tacos are fantastic. I got the Country Fried Steak & Eggs this time since it was breakfast time and I am very happy with what I got. My wife got a Breakfast Burrito that was smothered in green chile queso and that was really good too. Good job Chilito's, you are a staple here in Cruces. read more

I had the chicken fajitas. The meal came with complimentary chips and salsa. Chips were thick and crispy. Salsa had a lot of garlic powder and i love garlic! The chicken fajita came with a big portion for the price and was charred. It also came with homemade flour tortillas, beans, rice, plus lettuce and pico with a big dollhouse of guacamole and sour cream. Fantastic! read more

Having been to Chilitos on Foothills several times in the past few months and on every occasion having a really good meal, I have upped their rating to five stars. This Chilitos is clearly in the top three or four Mexican restaurants in town. The ambiance is nice, the service has been very good, the prices reasonable, and the food excellent. The smothered burritos have rated an "A," the sopapilla compuesta an "A-," and the chile rellenos an "A." It is clear why their business is thriving. (And I might add, this is probably the only restaurant around where you can still get a sopapilla compuesta with chile con carne since Nellie's closed its doors. Check my photo gallery for a picture of the most recent sopapilla compuesta I've finished off!) read more

Chilitos - Combo #2 Christmas Enchilada, Crunchy Beef Taco, Ground Beef Gordita, Refried Beans, and Rice - Mexican Near Me - Las Cruces, New Mexico

They were a little understaffed tonight for the early dinner rush (6pm on Sat night), but once we were seated the service was quick and thorough. I had the Combo #3 with ground beef taco, chile relleno, and enchilada both red and green sauce served with refried beans, rice, and lettuce. The red sauce had more kick to it, but I liked the flavor of the green a little more. I enjoyed having both "Christmas" style. I also ordered a draft local blonde ale (Bosque Brewing Pistol Pete's 1888) that came out in a giant frosty mug which was a steal at only $5.50! This was my second time at Chilitos, but first time at this location and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

Ordered food from here on door dash, first of all the burrito shows it comes with rice and beans, well it didn't come with that. And then I got nachos and the chips were so stale it was nasty damn near lost a tooth. Not to mention I could tell it was bottom of the bag because I basically just got a pile of broken ass chips. read more

Food was not fresh. So oily and bland. Service was ok nothing to brag about. Will not go back.

The people running this place are a bunch of crooks. I swing by to pick up an order and paid with cash to avoid their 3% convenience fee. I hand the money over and only then does the employee tell me that they "don't have any change". I look in the cash drawer and they literally didn't have any coins in there. This information should have been communicated BEFORE I paid. I get the food and the receipt but as I was on my way out I saw they charged me the convenience fee anyway so I go back in to have the employee give me my money back. They had to get the manager and then this person went to the back office to get some coins for the fee. I asked why they didn't give me change for the order when they clearly had coins available but the manager said they "don't have change all the time". What a load of BS. Just a bunch of excuses to gouge customers as much as they can. I will not be back and will definitely not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Flautas were okay if uninspiring. Guacamole seems to be homemade. The #3 plate was disappointing. The Chile Relleno had seeds and pith, did it even get prepped? Cheese was minimal or nonexistent. The enchilada was under cooked, tortilla tough and cheese not melted. I asked for XMas and as you can see the green was minimal. The Taco was classic, I wish I had ordered 3 Tacos. They get 3 stars because the order was ready for pickup on time and we ate it all. read more

Date night with Emilio. Came on a Monday. Love the ambiance and he mentioned it felt like we were on a vacation eating good food. Emilio ordered the chicken flautas, ordered to top it off with Chile con queso but they were all out ! Bummer. But he thought it was still tasty. Instead they topped it off with green Chile and shredded cheese. I ordered the 3 item combo, I chose Gordita, tamale and Relleno. They even added a free enchilada and I love free food! All the alcohol beverages are wine based but their margaritas are delicious. I kept the pineapple Margarita comin and it they were only $2.00 each! Emilio ordered a red beer and it hit the spot ! Definitely coming back, esp on a hot day to refresh it up with a Margarita and yummy food. read more

Our youngest got the kids cheeseburger - burger was burnt and cheese was cold. Combo fajita was a bit of a miss with the meat having an odd flavor and the green peppers barely being cooked. Ordered two burritos as well which were just okay. Hubby got a tall beer which was a generous size especially for the price. Chips and salsa were good. A bit pricey for what we got. Not terrible, but I wouldn't send anyone to eat there or return myself. read more

Food is very good here. Service is friendly and experience nice. Food was delivered as ordered....hot and alot

During my short stay in Las Cruces I am trying to have green or red chile with every meal. Mission accomplished tonight. Red and green. Combining the two is Known as Christmas style. It's a lot of sauce on a smothered chile relleno with beans on the inside. Each has its own taste and tonight I preferred the green. Well priced, I had a 24 oz beer, chips/salsa and this giant plate burrito (w beans and rice) for $15. Even with a tip under $20. The salsa is very tasty. Thinner and more like a dip sauce. It was bright and full of chile flavor. I'd put it on just about anything. The chips were a tad chewy but that could be the rain they have been having for days. Either way a solid place to eat and it also has a patio. read more

The location on Foothills is near my house so that's a plus! The food was good...the service was sub-par. I'm all about chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant...and keep 'em coming! We asked our waiter for a chip refill and didn't get it until after our food arrived. And we didn't get our utensils with the meal and had to wait several minutes for our waiter to bring them. These aren't deal breakers but I'll probably wait to go back until I can make it for breakfast because I know they do make legit huevos con chorizo. read more

Great food and salsa. Good margaritas. I like to do the chacha there while I eat my tacos

Food isn't bad, but the service is. They now have a 3% up charge for credit card use. So I paid for my pick up order with cash. They said they didn't have to give me my change because they don't have coins. We have choices of where we eat and there are many other places that treat me better. So I won't be back for a long time, if ever. read more

This is the most Tex-Mex place I have eaten at since moving to Las Cruces. Sure you can get red or green on most anything, and the green is pretty tasty. But then they cover everything with melty cheese. To me that's more Tex-Mex than authentic Mexican fare. This being my first time here I decided on the combo with 1 Enchilada, 1 Relleno, 1 Ground Beef Taco and rice and beans. The taco was crispy and I had no complaints. And really, since I like Tex-Mex, I had none about the rest of the plate. It was all pretty indistinguishable under the chile and cheese. So I just cut into it, removing the poblano stem from the relleno, and ate. You can create your own combo plate with 3 or 4 items. Four items around $12. It's one of the few places in town where I saw fajitas on the menu. They have a cantina and I understand an early morning happy hour for folks who work that 3rd shift. Salads, kids and senior menu, burgers, steaks and breakfast served ALL day! Yeah! Gotta love breakfast burritos and Huevos Rancheros and pancakes and all that! This location has a decent patio and I would imagine a lovely sunset view. They cater. It's not the best Mexican food in town. But it's not the worst. The service was super efficient and friendly. read more

We were visiting friends and decided to try Chilitos. It is an interesting place as they have a morning happy hour for people that work at the near by hospital and law enforcement getting off work. We had the Chicken Fried Steak Skillet and the breakfast burrito with Christmas Gravy. The food is abundant, it all came out hot and together for a party of seven. The prices were fair and we will come back when we are in the area. We would like to try the outside patio when the weather is warmer for some afternoon snacks and drinks. read more

Ate at the one on Valley and was charged a convenience fee , not sure what that means and a large party gratuity of 20% for a party of 4‍ Was also asked if I wanted to give an additional tip. Went to Chilitos with some friends and it was really great Mexican food and a great price point. I had a Chile relleno plate with a side of beans and rice.
