Not bad but really just standard fare, They have been in business a long time so I'll have to revisit very soon before giving a fair update! read more

Good spicy salsa, but the food was only okay. Nothing to write home about but not bad. Might give the other location a shot.

Some of the best Mexican food in Cruces. The service and ambiance were also quite good. But the food is the story here. Gotta give it a try-you won't be disappointed. Tom S read more

Excellent service!! Went to go wash my hands and my plate was waiting for me when I went back to my table. Yvette is a natural go getter. Multitasking and quick to recognize new customers. Food was awesome. Chile Colorado Plate. Thank you the positive service I received!! Will definitely return to eat here!! read more

Neighborhood restaurant with excellent food and service. I've been eating here for almost 40 years and it has always been very good! It's a nice quite place for a family meal or a business lunch, try them if you haven't been there yet, read more

I give the chips 5 stars, the warm salsa 3 stars, and the food 2 stars. I ordered chicken enchiladas and they were mediocre. It seems like they use canned red sauce and has no flavor. The service was rushed but I get it, it was during the lunch rush and it was busy. The woman taking the order was not patient for my slow order, but it was my first time here, so I didn't know what they offered. Geez! Waited for the check that took forever. Went to pay and the same woman with no patient and no humor helped me again. Ugh! What's up with this town...? The ambience seemed very rushed. Don't go during the lunch rush. I won't be visiting this restaurant again. read more

Food was great as was service. Food came out quick and was hot. I had the green chilie con carne with rice and beans. My friend had the chicken chimichanga. Both were delicious but the real star was the green chile salsa and the sopaipillas!! read more

This was very good and simple. You could tell that this place has been here for a long time and very much a town staple. The customer service was excellent and they made you feel like family. I would come here again for a good bite to eat. read more

Went late on Saturday afternoon, about an hour before closing. No attitude by the server. Very pleasant young lady, super attentive. Food was fast, hot, and delicious! Chips and salsa are the best and complimentary.. Was at a cafe in Mesilla just before and chips and salsa were $12! Remembered this little spot and went there instead. Glad we did! read more

Was seated and served quickly even though here during lunch rush. As we ate,not one customer waited for anything .... Even though Jenny was working alone. She was amazing. Kept my tea full. Food was very good. We had flat enchiladas Christmas style. The green chili here is yummy. We also had the chili rellenos. Delicious. They had green sauce. Could have used more but Jenny brought us additional green salsa so all was perfect. read more

Nopalito never disappoints. Always consistent with great food and the green Chile salsa is the best. I had a combination plate for lunch and everything was absolutely delicious. My wife had some huevos rancheros with green Chile and that was a major winner too. I was born and raised in Las Cruces so I've been eating here since I was a little kid. The crunchy tacos are a Las Cruces staple and Nopalito probably does them the best. One of my top three choices for New Mexican cuisine. read more

I want to Nopalitos for the first time and was definitely not happy. I ordered two burritos. They were plain burritos no flavor. The price for two burritos was higher than normal. Especially because they were bean and cheese and Chile relleno. Poor customer service. Waited 30 minutes for 2 burritos. They supposedly gave my burritos to some else. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Nopalito Restaurant - Messy tasteless burritos and not worth the price. - Mexican Near Me - Las Cruces, New Mexico

This is my wife and I's go to place. Amazing green chili and great services every time.

This is my favorite Mexican spot every time I head back home. Now living in CA I crave it, and can't wait to head here the first chance I get across NM state lines. I absolutely LOVE the green chile salsa, especially when it comes out warm with the chips. My go to dish is always the stuffed sopapilla with a crisp chicken taco on the side. The beans and rice are excellent as well. You can taste the love in the food. I can't wait to get my fix! read more

Nopalito Restaurant - Stuffed sopapilla and chicken taco mmmmmm - Mexican Near Me - Las Cruces, New Mexico

Food is good nothing special. I would say the one thing that is not good is the service. It took almost 30

For the beginning of this review, I will be channeling my 12 year old because this is his favorite Mexican restaurant. He likes it because: 1. It doesn't take very long for the food to get to your table. The servers are very nice. 2. The food is really good, and it's impossible to not eat it all up. His favorite is the ground beef burrito. 3. It's extremely cheap and a good value. Taking the mike back from him, my take on Nopalito's is that it's a pleasant place for a quick lunch or dinner. The inside of the restaurant looks like a diner from the Mad Men era but it is clean, so that's OK. There are weird paintings on the walls like something from the Mexican school of Velvet Elvis Art. The best thing about Nopalito's food is the salsa. They bring out a little pot of heated green chile salsa. It is so good that I always just eat it with a fork. No chips, just salsa on a fork. The menu is pretty limited, but what they do, they do pretty well. read more

When I plan a visit to my hometown of Las Cruces, the first place I always make a point of visiting is Nopalito's. I have frequented this restaurant for over 2 decades. We love it so much I've brought friends from Los Angeles here and made my husband from Texas a huge fan as well. The food has always been incredible and I DREAM of their green chile salsa in my sleep. This most recent trip when I visited during my high school reunion was the biggest disappointment for me. Looked at the menu and realized the prices had gone up a bit. Not surprising considering demand, so not a big deal. But then to my amazement I found out that the first itty bitty bowl of salsa is on the house, yet any additional bowl is about $2. What?! I've always figured that chips and salsa are included in any Mexican restaurant, so to find out my favorite salsa was now being charged broke my heart. I feel like this change is going to upset many Nopalito customers like myself. Almost makes me not want to make a visit anymore when I make a trip home. read more

I always love going to Nopalito for their amazing green Chile salsa. SOOOOO good, BUT the service we had wasn't good. Took forever to get anything we asked the waiter for, especially the check at the end. He spent most of his time talking to the cooks in the.kitchen. Food was good but they had a hard time understanding I wanted melted quest on my flautas.... they put shredded cheese instead. Also, it was nearly impossible to get a drink refill. read more

How could they expect one waitress to work a whole restaurant?!?! Been sitting here for 30 minutes +. No drinks. No chips/salsa. No order taken. read more

As a Southern California, my expectations for Mexican food are high. My gf and I stopped here on our cross-country trip from the west coast to the east coast. Starving after having driven through some of the most beautiful roads of America, we stopped here. The food was okay. The salsa tasted like it came from a jar. Bleh. read more

Nice interesting space. It's a converted church. It's very home like and the server are great extremely attentive. It was our waitress's first day and so it was a fun meal. Love the heated green chili. Did I say I loved it. I ordered the chili relleno plate and it was best I have had in Las cruces but not the best I have ever had. I have had 7 so far in various restaurants in las cruces. That's one of my test for Mexican food. He got the enchiladas plate and it was great and the chariozo was good. I will be back for the green chili. read more

I really like the food and I enjoy going there with my family. The only problem is their posted hours don't line up with the actual service hours. Today we went to go eat at 7:00 PM because it said online that the restaurant was open until 8:30PM. (They also had a sign outside that said open as well.) As soon as we walked in we were told they were already closed. read more

No ambience, good food. Low-key local, delicious warm chile verde salsa and light chile rellenos. A lot for your money. Not sure why the other Nopalito on Mesquite street gets so many good reviews (it was closed when I went, but the owner was there and suggested I go to this (the other) location)...while this one got one bad review before mine. I can't imagine a pretentious waiter here...it's a formica table lunch crowd kind of place. Best New Mexican I've ever had? No. But pretty darn good. read more

The gorditas are really tasty! I usually don't like green salsa but Napolito's green salsa was tasty, chunky, and not too spicy. The ground beef tacos were also tasty. Definitely recommend this Mexican restaurant. The red enchiladas were great also! read more

So much yum. It's ALL about the warm green chile salsa y'all. Pretty much everything with green chile is outstanding here. Great beans, picadillo, rellenos, enchiladas, gorditas, green chile stew. Just yes!!!! Casual, unassuming vibe. I did notice how casually some of their younger waiters worked. I'm lucky to have a lot of time, but i'd recommend to people in a hurry to let their server know if they're on a tight schedule. read more

I asked for a beef and cheese burrito. They served me a beef and finely chopped potato mush burrito. When I inquired about it they said that is how they serve their beef. I told them that is deception. They should inform customers of what they are getting prior to serving. Beef is beef! Beef isn't mush... read more

Super good food! The green chile is excellent. This place is my favorite Mexican food café in Las Cruces. Excellent red enchiladas. Good service to boot! read more

This was my third visit here. It always has been wonderful. Had a big group for a bday breakfast. Our server, Michelle, was always a step ahead of what we needed and the food was wonderful! The green salsa is really good as was the rest of our orders. Had enchiladas, gorditas, bean burritos and tacos. All awesome! Make sure to top it off with the sopapillas! read more

I first went to the Nopalito on Mesquite street the week it opened. I left town after I graduated from college, but would try to get my Mexican food fix there every time I returned. When my dad moved to Good Samaritan several years ago, we were pleased to find the Nopalito on Missouri. it has become our go-to restaurant when we came to town. I was in town last week for a funeral, and was able to eat breakfast there before heading down to El Paso to fly out. My wife and I both had Huevos Rancheros, me red and her green. They were as good as I remembered. I especially like that they have meat in them. When the waitress found out we were flying back to Seattle, she packed a pint container of their green salsa to go. Good food, good price, and great service. how can you go wrong! read more

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for more than 30 years. Over the years we've had good and bad service, which is to be expected, however the food was always good... until last night. It took three times longer than usual to receive our order, and when we did it was dried out. It was not busy, not a single order left the kitchen while we were waiting, and there was no easily discernible reason for the delay. We sent the food back, and it was obvious that the kitchen staff removed the enchiladas from my plate, put new beans and rice on another plate and placed the original dried out enchiladas on top of the new beans and rice. One incident like this in 30 years is not a reason to quit the place, but I will be paying attention to time and food quality on my next few visits. read more

This was our first visit to this restaurant. The green chili served with the chips is worth the trip over. Amazing! Late lunch so just had a couple tacos (crispy) which were some of the best, if not THE best, I have had in town. The service was friendly and the restaurant was super clean. read more

Great food, service was awful our waitress Marissa was questionable at best. She was constantly on her phone in the front, we had to signal for refills a few times. I can't speak for everyone else but this behavior while serving in unacceptable. This is also not the first time we have eaten here and had her playing on her phone while working read more
