My friend and I came here for lunch. The space was casual and colorful, with a lively atmosphere. They actually offered Horchata, which was sweet and refreshing. I ordered the Fish Bowl, because it had a little bit of everything, including Mexican rice, pinto beans, lettuce, sour cream, pico de gallo, jack and cheddar cheeses, as well as tortilla chips. This was a lovely presentation. The Fish was too soft for me, but overall the ingredients mingled together well. Rice was perfectly cooked and flavorful, while the cheese was satisfyingly melty. Service was okay. The waitress was friendly and everything came out in a timely manner. However, when it came time to pay, the bill was calculated blatantly incorrectly. It was so much hassle that I don't plan on returning.
Small taco joint. Server was really nice and food came pretty quickly. Tacos are great and filling at $4.50 each. Limited outdoor seating. Skip the chips and pico (it was flavorless and needed salt - they should serve salsa).

I came here recently for a friend's birthday who was a big fan of tacos. I've also been here a few times to get a taco or two on the go when in the area. This time we got rice and ordered the 15 taco special for our group. We got shimp tacos, pork tacos, and chicken tacos. They were all delicious. We wanted to get the lamb tacos but they were all sold out. El Cabron is definitely what I would classify as a quintessential cheap eat for dining in. Most cheap eats are more suitable for just ordering it to go, which this place also has a separate store front next door to do. But El Cabron has the feel of dining at some grandma's house for a meal and is reasonably priced. The service is pretty cordial and quick. Normally, I would go with my local taco truck for a taco or burrito but I would go to El Cabron for tacos for sure. I am fan of value in terms of food quality with very little frills. The space itself is pretty small. Our group was the only somewhat big sized group in the establishment and in all fairness they could probably only fit one other group of 5-10 in the space. They also have a lot of day of the dead type decor in the space.
There's a lot to love about this small Mexican shop! I ordered steak tacos & a chips/pico/guac combo and am a VERY happy camper. The tacos are a filling portion size & the meat is well-seasoned. The pico was just okay but the guac was delicious so again, net positive! I ordered for takeaway & my food was ready in 10-15 minutes. The woman working was very nice & packed our food SO securely... my husband commented on the meticulous packing for transport We will be back!
We came to this restaurant on a super rainy day and we were greeted by the warmest welcome by the most amazing waitress. The music was very uplifting for the gloomy day it was. We could see that both families and people at the bar were having a good time. We started off with beers, Pacifico and Modelo. I ordered the 3 taco combo with chicken, as well as a fish taco on the side, and swapped with my friend who ordered the 3 taco combo with chorizo. I must admit the chorizo was a little more flavorful and the spicy definitely wasn't too overpowering. The green sauce that they provide for the table was very addicting, a staple to good tacos in my opinion. For the fish taco I was expecting the usual grilled fish fillet, but it was moreso seared, which was different but still tasted awesome. At the end, we had to go for round two on the chorizo so we split an order of the nachos with chorizo, which was definitely more food than we needed, but well worth it.
The ambiance is casual and Hispanic music can be heard in the background. Service is cordial. Food might take slightly longer to come. The food itself is tasty and comes in good proportions. Good for a casual lunch/dinner
El Cabron made us some righteous tacos! My wife, after her haircut gets in the car almost in tears. She says: They cut my hair too short! Now when I was 18, I allowed a person hired by the government to completely shave off my hair. I don't understand why my wife is upset but I must turn that frown upside down. I ask: are you hungry? Can I take you to a place that has your favorite food? Between the sobs, she waves at me. Enter El Cabron. This word is throwing me, I could say faccia brutta, is it a similar meaning? It's lost in translation but tacos are a universal language. First thing to point out, El Cabron is small. My broom closet can kick its ass. There are tables outside if you would like to enjoy your meal in the open air. My wife doesn't want onions or guacamole on her tacos. Her rules. I order her two tacos and I order two for myself, Al Pastor and Chorizo. The tacos arrive and they are epic. My wife sadness turned to gladness. All is right with the world. You could said those tacos were G.O.A.T! (Greatest of all time) but I can't make these decisions, damn good taco that is worth a repeat trip. Used to be the LES Crepes and Tacos place, but I guess they had a little bit of a rebrand, tacos were good, but they weren't trompo al pastor which is what I prefer, and the salsas weren't doing it for me, but it was nice. The guy spoke both Spanish and English and it seemed like a lot of Spanish speakers in the joint .

I came here because another spot was closed when I tried to order for lunch. So glad I came here because the food and value was fantastic. I placed my takeout order at the bar and the bartender had great memory of my large order. Fish taco - very generous portion of fish Chicken taco - standard Al pastor taco - the flavor here was bursting. I was so impressed with this and I've tried a lot of tacos. Chicken bowl - so worth it. Generous portion of meat and well balanced with all the ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. And it was takeout! I'll definitely get food here again. Super fresh, delicious and solid flavor without a heavy hand in salt. The restaurant itself is smaller and feels sticky, like a classic bar. read more
Good tacos, good margaritas, good vibes It's right by my job, and honestly, I'm glad it is because I've definitely become a fan. First things first--the frozen margaritas are really good. I got mine with Tajín around the rim, and it was everything I wanted. Nice and refreshing, especially after work. They also have Taco Tuesday and happy hour, which is what first brought me in. The first time, I got the birria taco combo, and it came with chips. The birria tacos were delicious. Matter of fact, I was just there again yesterday because I wanted tacos. This time I got the al pastor tacos with chips, guacamole, and pico de gallo, and everything was really good. That's honestly why I keep going back. The food is consistently good, the drinks are good, and it's just a cute little spot to stop in after work, grab a margarita, and enjoy some really good Mexican food. Sometimes that's all you need. Good food. Good drinks. Good vibes. And since it's right by my job, I already know I'll be back... probably sooner than I should be. read more

Cheap & reasonably priced Mexican food & drinks in the Lower East Side. Owners & staff are super nice. They even have a "Super Taco Tuesday" specials: $4 select tacos, $5 draft, $10 margaritas. read more

This is a small, unpretentious spot that offers burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, and bowls. It's better for takeout, as there isn't much seating available here. If you're craving some quick Mexican food with decent portions and variety, this is a solid place to drop by. read more
After getting my nails done on Orchard I was walking around the neighborhood looking for something to eat. This place happened to be on the corner and was filled with people eating out front. So we walked in and saw the many menu options they had and immediately ordered Chicken Tinga tacos and Coronas. It took a little minute but if you know good authentic food you know it's worth the wait! And it was! The tacos were flavorful and filled with cilantro and onions. They paired it with radishes and your choice between 2 sauces. One was mild and one was spicy. I mixed them both and we inhaled the tacos. The staff was also very friendly. read more

Spicy fish taco an al pastor tacos are my go to. Prices are reasonable for tasty tacos. NOTE: they no longer have crêpes and have changed their name to Taqueria El Cabron. read more

Great price and big serving portion. The tacos are amazing, busting with flavors. The sauces are also unlimited. Horchata is refreshing and tasty. The service is quick and the server is very polite and nice. The atmosphere is cozy and comfy, great spot for a relaxing meal. read more

Havent tried the crepes but this literal hole in the wall punches above its weight. Tacos come out quick and hot. $3.50 for tacos except for fish which is $4.50. Burritos are $8. Cash Only. Tacos are served traditional Mexican so they come cilantro, onions and verde or hot sauce. If you want pico or lettuce or cheese (none of which id recommend for a taco) it is .50 each. I tried the fish, steak and chicken tacos. The fish was the best and came with a chipotle slaw. The steak was also really good. They cooked it up with onions that gave it a more savory flavor. Chicken was my least favorite. Wasnt bad but it was on the dry side. It tasted roasted which i was a fan of it was just too dry. One thing I wasnt a fan of was how they served the tacos. Its actually not that important but I am a bit on the excessive compulsive spectrum when it comes to food. Anyway, they basically laid the tacos on top of each other instead of next to each other. I feel like they forced my hand as to which order I had to eat tacos. I doubt anyone else would care but as an avid taco eater i take all transgressions against taco eating order freedom seriously read more

Ordered online thru Doordash since their phone number didn't work. Came for pick up, wait time was about 20-30 minutes. Lamb taco was juicy, carnitas taco was dry. The lines really helps but I wish the tacos came with free toppings to freshen up the tacos, extra toppings are additional cost. The nachos with guac and salsa was as expected. Acceptable fare. read more
