I had the red sangria and my friend had the smokey guava. Both drinks were beautifully presented and tasty. For appetizers, we shared the esquites (corn) and gambas al ajillo (jumbo shrimp). The corn for me is always a favorite and a must order. For our main course, we ordered the seafood paella for two. This was very filling and my friend ended up taking the rest home. The server recommended churros for dessert, usually not my pick, it was ok would have had the flan or tres leches cake instead. Overall great dining experience and would absolutely come back. Cute spot in the LES with many clearly marked vegan options- not just beans as vegan options, but they have seitan, vegan cheese, vegan sauces. So nice to see! Service was very friendly- they did seem a bit confused and brought us the wrong item meant for another table a few times for another table. So just make sure you clarify the item was meant for you. Vegan elote was average- but really nice to have that option. Seitan al pastor tacos were so yummy!! Seitan filling was very tasty and corn tortilla was good. It was on the expensive side- $16 for 2 tacos. I thought it would come with 3 but only 2 for that price. Open late so a great late night spot. Wow. Watched the mexico game here. We made a reservation, got there on time, game was delayed. Got drinks a d food, they messed up my food order and gaslighted me that i ordered seitan not steak fajitas... why tf would i order seitan fajitas im Mexican... and then they KICKED US OUT. I have difficulty understanding the positive reviews here. On the night we went, this restaurant was mostly empty and yet it still took almost 30 minutes (and a reminder) for the wait staff to give us our drinks. And the drinks were just plain bad. I came here for dinner on a Saturday night. There were only a few other parties there. The host and waiter were friendly. The restaurant was brightly decorated with papel picado on the ceiling and vibrant wall paintings. They were playing a great music playlist of treasured classics mixed with new artists. They have an awesome happy hour deal 7 days a week that includes 3 tacos and a drink for $20. This is a steal, however the menu didn't include a vegetarian taco option, which was disappointing. The happy hour menu also offered several cocktails for $9. On the regular menu, they do have 3 plant-based taco options. I ordered the seitan. I was unsure about the pineapple, but it paired perfectly with the savory ingredients. The seitan was juicy and flavorful. We also got guacamole. They were not able to make it spicy, but provided two hot sauce options. The sauces were still fairly mild, but offered nice flavor. To drink, I had a classic margarita. It was a bit too sweet. Many of us did not get the correct food item or it was not prepared the way they stated. This is also illegal. They're very lucky we don't make more of a scene. I'd say they owe me a free meal but I will never come back and will make sure everyone knows it. Ps chile relleno was 75% cheese and 25% of the chile had gone bad. P.ps. On my way out they wanted to talk to me about my review. The only thing they addressed were the two words I said above that were "weird art". Made a quick stop at Mictlan based on a number of other positive reviews. The space was quiet because they had just opened, so I took a spot at the well appointed bar. The decor is really amazing. There are a number of cool murals that were painted by the owner's daughter; she's VERY talented. The staff was attentive and quick to take my order. The guacamole was exactly correct and the carnitas tacos were solid. Carnitas are my judge on how good a Mexican restaurant is. They know how to make carnitas for sure. read more

Came here after trying a mediocre spot prior to this. Was looking for a stronger drink and better food to nibble on. We decided to go with the ceviche verde and drinks. Drinks were good but I really enjoyed the ceviche. It was little sweet from the apple with fish and octopus. I wanted order a mezcal so I asked for a mezcal recommendation. Since the waitress, Jennifer, didn't drink I asked if the other waiter drank. Boris, her father and owner, ended up bringing 3 bottles for me to try. Hilarious yet amazing service. I ended up picking the one I liked. We also ordered the lamb tacos which were huge and really tasty. Service was phenomenal and we unexpectedly had a great time. They have a nice selection of flavors for their margaritas, and although some of them are too sweet for my liking, my requests to tweak the flavor level were always accommodated. Again, she was very sweet and nice, but everything was very average. With all the amazing options in the neighborhood, it's hard to justify a second meal here despite wanting them to succeed. They don't have any beer or alcohol yet and hope to have a license within a month. That said, they're also not allowing byob, which could've been a good draw in. This place is near China town, their menu had the most vegan options I could find. It was incredible. They also have non vegan item. The staff was super nice, worked with what I requested to order. The ambiance is so cozy and festive. The prices are very reasonable for being in the city. Their food taste delicious, I sat at the table and ordered guacamole while I was waiting. It's the best guacamole I've ever had. The chips were good but could be much better. They were cold. I think they are pre made and it portioned out. Been here a few times, it's a hidden gem in the neighborhood. The food is pretty good and has been consistent. I will say the guacamole needs more salt, but I've really enjoyed the quesadilla as well as the Pescado tacos. I really like the mango salsa that comes on the Pescado tacos. The drinks are very strong and the flavors are powerful. I have noticed that service can be on the slower side and you might need to flag someone down, even when the restaurant is slower. The atmosphere could be a little more refined. Some of their decor is a little cheap. Overall, I really like this spot and I'm glad it opened in the neighborhood.
