Just awful. Has gone down hill entirely. Food is so bad, skimps on meat and the cheese is never melted. Bad food, super americanized, and dry. Used to love this place but after our last 2 visits a couple of months ago, we don't plan on ever going back to eat here. Maybe for a marg, and to sit outside in the front, but that's it.

We ordered for delivery a few weeks ago. My husband got the chorizo burrito and i stole a bite...so glad I did. Just the right amount of spiciness. I got the California burrito because French fries duh. The steak was juicy and not dry at all. I got my daughter a side kid ride and I wish I would've gotten myself like 28 of them. Probably the best Mexican/Spanish/Hispanic rice in the city

Strongly recommend if your hungry and in the area, though I don't think I would go out of my way for it. 10 buck lunch, and I don't know which was faster, the kitchen preparing it or me wolfing it down. Bar seating along the walls and front window seats are nice! I had a pollo asada burrito and it was a tad on the dry side, but since I use a lot of hot sauce it ended up being a delectable lunch :). I should have taken a picture of the burrito but it wasn't fancy or anything and I ate it to fast...

This Illy Philly went back to El Burro and I have to say that they are extremely pleasant when you come in, and there is a lot to offer on their menu, but my tastebuds weren't pleased with their Vegan options. I ordered a vegan taco and when I bit into it the vegan meat was dry and tasteless. I also ordered the quesadilla ( vegan) and it wasn't that good either. I want to say, again, that they really give great service, but their Vegan options weren't that good.

Spending a week at the hospital to care for a family member. I was tired of eating at AGH cafeteria, it was good by the way. Lots selections during the week. I found this little spot with in easy walking distance. It is right next a pizza place. I walked in and the place is small but has big taste. I ordered street tacos to go. Two pollo and one beef. The service was great and didn't take long. The food smelled great. However, the restaurant didn't honor the Yelp check in for a free drink. No big deal. I have had a lot of street tacos in many different areas. These were really good and fresh, even the security guard at the hospital commented on the smell. I would recommend giving this little burro a try.

Fun little shop on Federal St. not far from Allegheny Commons. Came in on a rainy Saturday afternoon for lunch and there really wasn't a wait which was nice. There is only about 6-8 seats and they were mostly occupied so we took it to go. The flavor of the carnitas was good as it had a bit of a cinnamon flavor which was unexpected and nice! The pico was fresh and the rice was tender. Portion size was good too. Just wish there was a bit more meat in the burrito.

Amazing food ! Got the shrimp tacos, rolled chicken tacos, chips and guac... they killed it on the flavors- everything was perfect! If you like shrimp, try the tacos, you won't be disappointed! These tacos are worth the trip to the north side of Pittsburgh!

I ordered from El Burro on Grubhub and I had a really good experience! I really appreciate that they separate their menu and clearly note vegan and vegetarian items. There are so many options to choose from but I got the vegan potato taco, vegan chorizo taco, and the vegan rolled potato tacos. The tacos were good, not great. They could have used a little more flavor. But the rolled potato tacos were amazing. They were crispy even though they were delivered and they were so good. I definitely recommend trying them if you check this place out!

Ordered take out for lunch. Happy that the hard shell tacos withstood the journey. I liked that they loaded the tacos with plentiful toppings, but must say I think they were missing something - some sort of flavor for sure. Also, this may have been my fault for not adding to my order, but I would have loved to add a sauce! Will order again, just take my time understanding the menu. Also, almost $5 for vegetarian/vegan tacos with no sides is a little on the steep side.

My boyfriend and I tried the carnitas, chorizo, shrimp, and mahi mahi tacos. I didn't love or hate any of them. I liked the chorizo taco, but it wasn't anything special. We also got guac and chips on the side. Their guac tasted identical to Chipotle's guac, which means it was delicious. We really wondered if it actually was from Chipotle because it tasted way too similar to it. Loved the chips that the guac came with. They provided basically a whole bag of chips and a plastic container of the guac. Taste | 3.5 Atmosphere | 3 Presentation | 3 Service | 3 OVERALL | 3.5

Chile relleno burrito, a good deal of cheese

This is a good and quick spot for lunch. We stopped in on Saturday afternoon and hubs got the street tacos: chicken, beef, and carnitas. He wasn't a fan of the chicken. It didn't taste quite right. The others were much better, with the carnitas being his favorite. I had the chili relleno burrito. It was pretty good, but had more cheese than I cared and there was an element of friedness. It was quite heavy and a filling option. By dinner time, I still wasn't hungry. Tip: there are several hot sauce varieties on the table, but not salsa. I didn't get any for my burrito. Hubs got two small containers of hot salsa for his tacos. The spot itself is small, with various barstool spots. It is better suited for grab and go.

El burro! Meaning the donkey in Spanish, which also means that burrito means little donkey. Speaking of burritos, theirs are so great I had the Chile relleno one with a bunchhhh of their homemade salsas that definitely made my taste buds dance. Seriously, they should be famous for their salsas. The inside is sort of small with limited seating, so it's fortunate there is a beautiful spacious park half a block away for you to go enjoy your food in. Give them a try, don't forget to tip!

Chicken taco - kind of hard to tell because I got a pretty messy order

The tostadas were nicely crispy and had the perfect amount of salt. The guacamole was fresh. My husband said that it was probably the best value that we have even gotten for chips and guacamole at any restaurant. Carne-asada street tacos - 3.5 stars - Again, the serving size was large. The tortillas reminded me a bit of my husband's Mexican grandma's tortillas. As for the carne-asada meat, my husband said, "I don't know what that was supposed to be." Eek! However, he added, "The beans and rice are very good. There's definitely a Mexican in that kitchen." Well, I do not know who the chefs are, but I hope that they accept that last comment as a compliment. These two menu items cost $42 plus tax and tip.

They were a band from another country that was performing at a nearby venue a little while later. I was excited to be able to get them a good, non-road food meal. I'm sure any band members out there appreciate what a treat this can be. The place was half empty. After 20min., I had to physically go to the bar, where servers were kinda just hanging out, to get someone over to serve us. Our waitress was sweet. We order drinks and food. The chips arrived cold. Small issue. The food came soon after. Cool. Went up to check on drinks. Nothing. I want to stress that they were nowhere near slammed at that time. Our drinks arrived after we were well-finished eating. Not only that, we ordered Margaritas and they were all from nasty, synthetic syrup, with very, very little Tequila. I wasn't asked if I wanted salt so I made sure to say that I did. No salt. We couldn't even finish them they were that bad. Between that and the terrible service timing I regret not getting up, going full-Karen and having them all taken off the bill. But I was mortified and we were in a hurry. So, so embarrassing. Beautiful outdoor covered patio and extensive menu of BBQ options!!…read more We stopped for a weekend Brunch around 10:30 and the place was still completely empty! The hostess stand is a bit of a farce - the employees seemed to hope that people would just seat themselves. Even when we were greeted - they said to just pick your own seat anyway! The decor is pretty cool. I'm partial to the stacked wood for the smoker as you enter, but the rustic feel of everything made the vibe come alive. With the smoker right next to the patio, the wonderful smell of the barbecue permeated the entire restaurant. The brunch menu was just as extensive as their lunch/dinner menu. We grabbed two coffees - which seems like a rarity - as they brought sugar and milk in little dipping sauce cups. The candied bacon was a MUST. 6 slices of thick cut bacon drizzled in brown sugar for only $6. Walter's Benedict with Pork Belly will stalk my dreams... the flavorful crust charred to the fork tender pork belly casually laying on the buttery, crispy chive biscuit smothered in the perfect hollandaise is the brunch you dream of but never really comprehend. Brisket Hash was unfortunately a nightmare though. The menu doesn't inform you that the brisket will be chip chopped into fine dust and coated in hot sauce. It was so spicy that it was almost inedible and the 1/4" of oil under the potatoes and eggs proved that even the hot sauce felt like crying. In all, the amazing waitresses and cool setting outweigh the one menu issue! We will be back!
