Ordered a rice and bean burrito for pick up, and my ordered incorrectly made. Jalapeños and cheese were added, resulting in the meal being inedible as I cannot have dairy and do not enjoy jalapeños. This Illy Philly went back to El Burro and I have to say that they are extremely pleasant when you come in, and there is a lot to offer on their menu, but my tastebuds weren't pleased with their Vegan options. I ordered a vegan taco and when I bit into it the vegan meat was dry and tasteless. I also ordered the quesadilla ( vegan) and it wasn't that good either. I found this little spot with in easy walking distance. It is right next a pizza place. I walked in and the place is small but has big taste. I ordered street tacos to go. Two pollo and one beef. The service was great and didn't take long. The food smelled great. However, the restaurant didn't honor the Yelp check in for a free drink. No big deal. I have had a lot of street tacos in many different areas. These were really good and fresh, even the security guard at the hospital commented on the smell. This is a good and quick spot for lunch. We stopped in on Saturday afternoon and hubs got the street tacos: chicken, beef, and carnitas. He wasn't a fan of the chicken. It didn't taste quite right. The others were much better, with the carnitas being his favorite. I had the chili relleno burrito. It was pretty good, but had more cheese than I cared and there was an element of friedness. The storefront is very unassuming, there are a number of fun painted chairs that line the bright red walls but the ambience is less made for staying than for a quick pick up. This is a great spot for lunch. It's within walking distance from my office and the perfect little treat for when I am lazy over the weekend and don't manage to pack anything for lunch. It's very small inside. There's some seating along the walls and the window facing the street but it's all bar seating and there are no tables. You order at the counter. I got the California burrito - fulled with shredded steak, pico, cheese, guacamole, and French fries. It came quickly and I tossed it in my purse to walk back to the office. You have the option to eat there but I wasn't in the mood. They normally ask you if you want some salsa to go but I had to ask, they're the two little containers you can see in my pictures. Definitely a must. I also recommend asking for a fork and knife - this is one of those burritos that you'll need it for. When I got back to the office and cut the burrito in half, I was so delighted by the bright, beautiful colors of the vegetables inside. The burrito tasted just as good as it looked. I wanted to some for later but I couldn't resist and ate the whole thing in a sitting. My coworker got the chips and salsa as well. They were so good. The chips are greasy but freshly made. Honestly some of the best I've ever had and a new standard for tortilla chips in my book. The salsa was fresh and tasty - not spicy, and there's more than enough to share. Customer service could be friendlier - to add to that, food was just alright to me. I do like their habanero sauce(spicy fresh and a little sweet) They took out the Carne Asada taco, I remember it was my favorite when I came back to Pittsburgh in December. But since it's so close to the house it was an easy place to get Tacos. I moved to Arizona, so I have found way too many authentic mexican street food that are better. The poblano pepper has a fried battered outer layer that adds great crunch. Soyrizo and pinto beans make this a substantial snd filling meal.
