Fresh, authentic Mexican food with massive portions and friendly staff. What more could you want? I met up with a friend here because we needed to do a big debrief and everyone knows that eating Mexican food while nestled in a cozy, oversized booth is the perfect environment. Plaza Azteca delivered on the delicious food, reasonable pricing, and wonderful service. Their ingredients are fresh and they even offer table-side guacamole.

A friend and I stopped in for dinner. Our server (Desiree) was great as she was friendly and had a sense of humor with us as the day was ending. We both ordered a margarita and I got the very berry flavor. It was good yet sweet. I ordered the quesadilla ranchero which was very flavorful and filling. My friend got the Mexican rice and liked it but felt like the portion size was too small especially based on the plate it was served on. Overall it was a good time and good food.

Stopped here for dinner after some errands in Robinson and was delightfully surprised! They give you complimentary chips and salsa that are clearly very fresh and delicious. I ordered the Mexican fried rice with chicken and it was very flavorful! My boyfriend ordered seafood enchiladas and didn't love it because it had celery in it that he wasn't expecting but overall we enjoyed.

Always a fun spot! Great drinks and food, but be careful and mindful of what you order - the bill can add up quickly lol

Sorry, this dinner was a miss- went to at Robinson to shop and thougt we would try some mexican for dinner. Great decor and Fast service. The queso fonditio was ok, but tons of grease from the sausage. The taco salads were sssoooo tiny! It was filled w refried beans, some meat, and hardly any veggies- it did come in the tortilla shell, but was a child size serving. Not the $15 dinner we expected.

Food was flavorful and plentiful. They have many options and many different flavor directions to go. We loved the table side fresh guacamole, which was mashed in front of us. The crispy shrimp also came out perfectly fried and tasted really good. Drinks were standard, also a lot of options. Our entrees were all enjoyed but some pieces came out cold. The service was very slow (we didn't mind because we were enjoying talking and eating) but that's why I think some parts were cold. Would definetely come back and try more things!

I was born & raised in the Mexican border. I know what authentic is. This is close. The food and flavors were very good. Warm chips with a good, red salsa, we're a great start. The chips were really good! My wife had the enchiladas suizas, full of flavorful chicken and covered in a green tomatillo sauce and sour cream. She loved them. Me? I always order steak tacos. Always. These were not only good, but they were chock full of tender, juicy steak and topped with onions and cilantro, as an authentic taco should be. (See attached photo) As for service, our waitress (Hellen) was fantastic. Very attentive, polite and kept our glasses full. Can't ask for much more than that. Trust me...this place is good, especially for being in PA and not on the border somewhere. It was better than I expected and far better than the negative reviews on here. Give 'em a shot.

I dropped in for dinner last night. I was craving fajitas. Parking is a breeze, since they have their own parking lot right in front of the restaurant. The restaurant has a setup to handle large parties. You can sit at the bar or in a booth. I was seated right away. The waitress was helpful and friendly. The menu has vegetarian and regular options to choose from. I had the fajitas with steak, shrimp and chicken, along with beans and rice, with sour cream and pico de Gallo, chased down with a raspberry iced tea. The restaurant was doing good business, but the staff stayed ahead of the power curve. Cash/Credit/Debit are accepted here.

I've heard so much about this place, I had to try it for myself. I love the decor so much! Feels really fun. Our server was great, so friendly. I ordered the fireball margarita which I loved and a spicy fresh which was eh. We loved the plantains app, absolutely delicious. The empanadas were okay, they could use a sauce or maybe some seasoning. I got the Chori Pollo. They were so great to swap out the refried beans for black beans. The portion was enormous and delicious albeit a little salty. I look forward to trying more of their menu!

Amazing food and service every dang time! I came in on a solo mission to satisfy a pregnancy craving. They met my every request+ went above and beyond. They gave me a nice private booth in the corner so I didn't stand out like a sore thumb amongst full tables and they HOOKED ME UP with so many cherrys to accompany my cherry coke. I didn't even ask for cherries, but damn it made me feel so special! I ate everything in these photos and I felt like I was going to explode--I will always be back!

Stopped by for an after dinner margarita on the outdoor patio one weekday evening. I was greeted immediately upon entering the building, greeted along the way to my table, and my server was pleasant and prompt. I ordered the spicy fresh margarita and was also brought complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were freshly made, still warm, and lightly salted. The salsa had good flavor and a little bit of heat. The margarita was beautifully made, had a floral garnish, and was rimmed with tajin, per my request. I thought the size and quality of the margarita was exceptional, though maybe not totally worth the $18 price. The patio itself is newer to this location, has about 6-8 tables with umbrellas, and is located in their parking lot. The view isn't the best, but they did make it comfortable and kept it clean. The bathrooms were on the smaller side for a restaurant this large, clean, but one of the two paper towel machines was empty. Overall, would definitely come back to enjoy a happy hour special outdoors with nice weather.

Loud restaurant. Food mid. Lacks flavor. Salty rice and beans. Would not come again. Service was good.

This place is high end Mexican food. My co-worker and I came here for dinner. We both had the Philly Steak Burritos and I also had the Elote (one of my favorites). This food was the best I've eaten on my 3 day trip to Pittsburgh. I strongly encourage you to check these guys out - massive menu, full bar, amazing service, etc.

I usually avoid eating at Mexican restaurants in Pittsburgh, as I'm always disappointed with the quality of the food. Most restaurants seem to use premade ingredients, which is insane cause Mexican food cooked fresh is usually not that hard or expensive. Not with buenatarde, everything we ordered was made in house. The refried beans and rice tasted almost as good as my grandmothers use to cook. Not quite, but close! The carnitas tasted really good, the only issue we had was it was a tad dry. The best one had to be the al pastor because it wasn't dry and had lots of flavor. I opted for the red morita spicy sauce, and trust it actually has spice and kick to it.
