Don't sleep on catering from Condado!! We recently order catering from this Condado at my work and let me tell you something... it was fireee!!! When it first arrived, we were skeptical if they actually gave us enough for 10 people, but it was more than enough and everything was soooo good! They serve everything in individual containers. The soft tacos are heated and then placed in the sheet pan, so they aren't just stone cold from like a bag from the grocery store. The meats are plentiful and hilariously labeled in the big box! The toppings were plentiful and so were the tortilla chips! Plus... they give you enough bowls and forks for probably close to 25 people!!! The care and prep to do a large group order like this is above and beyond. Honestly, it was more fun to build your own tacos and nachos than it is to unwrap their normal takeout tacos! read more

The Carne Asada Burrito was unavailable as they had no steak but suggested I just choose another protein. Pulled pork was the protein I chose which was a mistake. It had little taste. The really bad part was the overabundance of rice. I'm guessing 60% plus. This was not a good blend. Awful comes closest to my overall feelings. I really like their tacos and should have stuck with them. Rarely an I disappointed. For this reason I have only knocked them down a couple of stars. First time trying this location. It is significantly smaller, but love the decorations/interior. We were seated right away and our server was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a few different tacos plus a large guacamole and a small street corn dip. Everything was fresh and tasty and their cocktail list is excellent. A friend and I were in town and some of our local friends suggested coming here with a group to grab dinner. It is located right on the corner and we parked just off the main street about a block away. It wasn't super busy at 8pm on a rainy Tuesday evening. There is a big bar and plenty of tables. Our group sat at a long table by the front door. There is a lot of interesting artwork all over the walls. The table started out with the "Three Buds" pick three dips with chips and selected the tomatillo salsa, traditional guac, and blanco queso. The presentation was visually excellent and all three dips had great flavor. The chips were good also and there were plenty to go around. For my entree, I ordered three tacos including the baja shrimp, and a steak and chicken but I forgot which ones. They were all good and filling. I very rarely give bad reviews, but my experience was so bad that it's been haunting me to do so. Three weeks ago I came in with a party of 4 around 7pm on a Friday night. They were a band from another country that was performing at a nearby venue a little while later. I was excited to be able to get them a good, non-road food meal. I'm sure any band members out there appreciate what a treat this can be. The place was half empty. After 20min., I had to physically go to the bar, where servers were kinda just hanging out, to get someone over to serve us. Our waitress was sweet. We order drinks and food. The chips arrived cold. Small issue. The food came soon after. Cool. Went up to check on drinks. Nothing. I want to stress that they were nowhere near slammed at that time. Our drinks arrived after we were well-finished eating. Not only that, we ordered Margaritas and they were all from nasty, synthetic syrup, with very, very little Tequila. I wasn't asked if I wanted salt so I made sure to say that I did. No salt. We couldn't even finish them they were that bad. Between that and the terrible service timing I regret not getting up, going full-Karen and having them all taken off the bill. But I was mortified and we were in a hurry. So, so embarrassing. It's been 5 years since I first visited Condado Tacos (and that first visit was not the best). Recently I came back with my partner as we were looking for a new dinner spot to try before heading to Row House for a movie. Said partner had never been to Condado Tacos (and didn't even know they're basically Burgatory but for tacos), so I figured what the heck: let's see how they're doing these days. We walked in to find plenty of seats in a fairly quiet restaurant - immediately off to a better/more welcoming start than last time. (Granted we were out on a Monday so maybe they still pump up the tunes to awful levels on days that aren't Monday?) Our waiter was super nice and attentive, so it didn't take long for us to get our orders placed. The food arrived speedily as well (so shoutout to the kitchen, too). My partner got two custom creations while I ordered a Purple Haze and Ooey-Gooey taco off the "standard" menu. Everything was good but of these three items, I have to say: the Purple Haze was one of the tastiest tacos I've ever had. Here's the ingredient list from their website: "Flour soft + hard corn shell with new sweet chili sauce, housemade chorizo, cilantro & onion, shredded thai red cabbage, queso fresco, and cilantro-lime aioli." Seriously, I'm dreaming of this taco days later. The sweet chili sauce really sealed the deal on this medley of flavors for me. So to recap: good food, and good service. The same wildly bright murals are still on the walls, which I was glad to see; the colors really make for a fun dining area. If I was going to offer any suggestions for improvement at all, it would be this: follow Burgatory's example, and give customers a notepad with the available ingredients to write down our full order. This might be a "me" problem but honestly: I don't want to read, remember, and recite whole taco order, which include protein(s), salsa(s), sauce(s), and toppings. Plus, a benefit of building an order out on paper is that it's easier for me to "connect the dots" and think about how my choices will taste together. Is this a dealbreaker or big deal? No. Would it make my life easier given how my brain functions? Definitely. Anyway, while I'd love the ability to write down my custom orders instead of reciting them, that's a very specific request/piece of feedback. And regardless, the overall Condado Tacos experience was much better this time versus my BC Visit (AKA Before COVID). I'm glad I came back after all this time, and would be happy to dine here again! read more

When I first looked this place up I thought it would not be bad. I ordered 3 chicken and 3 beef tacos, onions and cilantro with cheese. When I got them, they were wrapped in foil. The chicken was soooooooooo salty...the beef was the same thing. The tortilla wrap was sooo floury from the grocery store. There was 2-5 little bits of onions and no cilantro. These were THE worst tacos I ever had. Better off going to Taco Bell. Room a bite out of each and put it down...went to the rest room..came back and they were all gone...he brought me the check...came out to about $30..I told him, in my life of eating tacos...these are the worst!!! Came here on a Saturday night. Had a great experience with the service and the waitress was accommodating to my vegetarian diet. My order was made as a bowl instead of a burrito, but the waitress ensured that it was sent back to be made correctly. Popped into this location on a Saturday around 1:00 pm and sat at the bar with my husband. The bartender we had was clearly inconvenienced by our presence as she wore it all over her face. We ordered some margaritas .. and some chips and 1/2 queso dip. When the margaritas were delivered the limes were brown and clearly not fit to garnish any drink or food. We took them out and put them on napkins. The chips we received were stale. I asked for fresh chips and the attitude we received was unreal. I looked over and the bartender with other staff members were all eating chips out of a big bin. Next thing we know a new bin comes out which validates the need to have "fresh" chips. She brought us another basket of them and while they were better than the first batch still not great. So we called it and settled up and left and went down the street to Mezcal, which was amazing! I wouldn't waste my time visiting Condado if you're in that area. The bathrooms were also not very clean.. clearly a franchise location slipping through the cracks on quality service and overall maintenance of their establishment. read more

I had been wanting to try Condado for years now and this location didn't disappoint. We started out by ordering a couple of local beers that were on tap of course because supporting local business is the key to growth and they were amazing per usual. Then the chips and salsa arrived and were good. I ordered the Power Plant and Dutch Dragon tacos and they were good, but their sauces made them even better. Are there better tacos and Mexican food in Pittsburgh, absolutely! But the atmosphere and location makes this place what it is. Cool AF! This place never disappoints! Highly recommend if your craving tacos. I like how you can build your own or order premade. The premade tacos are very unique and not always what you would pair together. Ex: Cool ranch Dorito flavored shells with avocado ranch - SO GOOD! This is my second time trying condado tacos and it has grown on me a bit. I know the tacos are more creative than your standard tacos but overall some of their tacos can be really good with great combinations of flavors while others ones feel like a slightly upgraded version of taco bell. The nachos were delicious and the margaritas were solid. El clásico had a higher quality of tequila while the house marg was standard. Both were really tasty. We enjoyed the chicken taco more than the beef but both were good. This isn't a traditional taco place - it's a trendy and creative take on American-style Mexican food so don't come in with expectations of authenticity. With so many taco options in Lawrenceville, this is a good happy hour with fun food and solid drinks. We went on a Friday and it wasn't very busy at 5 o'clock. Pittsburgh is known for many things and I would rally and say that Condado should be part of that list. Everytime I come, the food is just absolutely mind-blowing, dare I say better than Chipotle? Got takeout and they were very quick with the order. Even if they weren't it's interesting to just sit inside the store and look at all the decorations and people watch. I always order the build-your-own nacho bowls. They advise you to not put that much stuff on it, but load it, you will not regret it. My usual order is pulled pork, tomatoes, black beans, fajita pepper + onions, cilantro + onions, lettuce, pickled red onions, Middlefield smoked cheddar, queso fresco, pepper jack, corn salsa, verde salsa, cilatro-lime aioli, and avocado ranch. They make their own chips in house and so it's not the usual flimsy chips but sturdy ones that can hold all the ingredients together. Getting everything in one bite is a talent but when you do, the flavors just all mesh so well together. Also, did I mention that the prices are ridiculously cheap for the amount they serve up? The mezcalita was Smoky and had a little jalapeno kick. The clasico was not too sweet, super yummy. Then we got the 'three buds' appetizer: three dips and plenty of chips. Start with the chips: home made, fresh, crunchy. A tad salty but delicious. The dips were all great: guacamole, queso with black beans, chicken and dirty sauce (home made got sauce) and a corn salsa. All the were delicious. For dinner we got a kale bowl and two tacos. One taco was in their 'Sweet Lucy' double decker--a hard corn shell inside a flour tortilla. I was skeptical but it worked! Stopped by mid afternoon a few weeks ago when it was hot and humid. The a/c was running and it was actually a little cold inside. Like the bright murals painted on the walls. We first ordered a pitcher of House Margs. Tasted really good, but if there was any tequila in that pitcher it was very little. Later, three of us ordered Marg Flights. There was zero alcohol in the flights. We had a total lightweight with us and she had zero buzz after a large drink from the pitcher and a flight of three smaller margs. The flight tasted of pureed fruit and juice. Hard to even finish. Zero tequila. You could never convince me otherwise. This was my first time trying out this restaurant. I know there are a couple locations, but my mother, sister and I decided to try this one. We arrived around 1:00 on Saturday and we were seated right away. Margaritas: We ordered the Harvest Pear, Spiced Pineapple Mezcalita, and Gran Clasico margaritas. Personally I did not enjoy the Spiced Pineapple Mezxalita, but the Harvest Pear had amazing flavor. It did not taste of any alcohol, but was very sweet. The Gran Clasico was extremely strong and very hard to drink comfortably. Tacos: I honestly do not think you can go wrong with ANY of their tacos whether it is a menu item, or a build your own. The Sweet Lucy and Ju-Ju shells are fantastic. They are a hard shell on the inside and soft shell on the outside with queso to glue them together. The Three Buds appetizer was a great way to try differed dips. The queso was to die for. Ambiance/ Service: The murals on the wall are amazing! I have not seen another restaurant that is so unique. They also played very good music which kept the vibes very positive. The chairs do not have a back to them, so by the end of our meals, our backs did hurt a little. Our waitress was so kind. She allowed us as much time as we needed to place our order and even gave us some recommendations. We've been wanting to try Condado's for quite awhile and finally made it there on Saturday. My wife and I each got a $10 bud box--two tacos with chips and dip. I got the queso and my wife got the guacamole. Between the two of us we tried the Blue Dream, Lucy's Fire, Bubba Kush, and the Plain Jane. Being Covid-19 times we ordered take out online and our order was ready on time. We enjoyed the tacos and found the portions to be very generous!
