The menus were weird and even deceptive like we were supposed to pull off tape to see prices because they'd been too lazy to just print updated menus, We might have forgiven all this had the food been a delicious bargain. Tried the craziest burrito in my life- the NEW "Super Steelers" burrito Absolutely wild. This thing will put you into a food coma and give you meat sweats. I wasn't even able to finish half because I saved room for Tres Leches cake. Great combination of flavors. The fries and shrimp threw me off a little but everything else worked together in harmony. The sauce on top was pretty good but was even better with tapatio hot sauce! the guys both got the shredded chicken burritos which they said were awesome as well. This small restaurant seems sort of sketchy from outside but is pretty cozy inside! I don't think they are very busy for indoor dining so I went without issues with a reservation at 7pm on Saturday. I ordered the chicken burrito and I think as a large guy it could fill me for a FEW meals! The portions are larger than anticipated. LIFE HACK: after 7pm Friday, after 7pm sat, and all day Sunday you get up to 3 FREE MARGS!! They claim to be 16oz but they are more like 8-10, but you will actually enjoy them and they are pretty strong. Cheap and filling food at very reasonable prices! The quality isn't as high as some other local Mexican restaurants, but it's a great deal. I ordered the teas leches, churros, bean with cheese burrito, and shredded beef burrito. The portions are excellent for the burritos! They are much heavier than they look and they are filled to the brim. The meat in the shredded beef burrito was pretty flavorful and didn't have too much fat. It came with a good amount of different vegetables inside as well. There were onions, tomatoes, peppers, and more for no extra charge. There is also a lot rice in the burrito. It was creamy and delicious! The tortilla is on the thicker side, though. The bean and cheese burrito was pretty good, too. The beans tasted earthy, but creamy as well. Plenty of cheese inside. My order came with a feta-like white cheese called cojita in a small container (it was for the meat burrito, but I used it for both). Large portion of spicy tomatoey sauce. Both desserts were fine. I wasn't blown away, but they were both cheap and tasty. Tres leches came with a strawberry and it was cream. There was also whipped cream on top. Churros are large. There's not a lot of sauce on them, though, but the texture is on point. Overall, I was more than satisfied with this visit. Awesome portions and prices! Flavor is there, too. You know me, I love some good Mexican food. Add to that a Pittsburgh twist and you have definitely reeled me in. A coworker of mine recently was raving about this place and convinced us all to join her in ordering lunch one day. Of course everyone was happy to agree on a place as that is half the battle. The other half of course is finding the perfect item on the menu to tickle your fancy. The menu is heavy on items to choose from. You have your traditional Mexican fare and few more things added to round out the menu. What I find inviting about this place is they have a breakfast menu which is a nice draw. They have your usual burritos, tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, combo plates, and tortas. As well as salads, soups, sides and desserts. They also have a section of the menu that they set aside for new additions to the menu. And one last part to the menu is the rotisserie chicken section. Burritos are amazing. No matter how you get yours you always end up satisfied when you take that last bite. You feel fulfilled and probably ready for a nap. I looked over the burrito section of the menu intently. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. I will devour a ground beef, steak, or chicken burrito happily. Looking over this menu I saw the Pittsburgh Burrito. The Pittsburgh Burrito brings two items together and creates a happy medium for those that can't make up their mind. See this burrito contains both carne asada and pollo asado. Two meats. Flavored with all the right Mexican spices. Melded together inside. But wait, there's more. You get fries in there, and cabbage. See, the Pittsburgh theme coming through. Can't forget the cheese. And, follow me here, tartar sauce. I know what you are thinking, but I'll explain. When the burrito showed up I was a little bit dismayed. The looks of it felt small. Looks can be deceiving, I picked this thing up and, although it looked small, it was heavy. That heaviness came from the amount of food stuffed inside. There is no wrong way to eat a burrito, so do not fret if you look like you dived face first into this thing. It is expected. You kind of have to unhinge your mouth to take a bite at time. You will also get a small container of salsa with this. Add it to each bite, you will thank me for that. I know, you are still thinking about that tartar sauce, aren't you? It works! It honestly does. The cabbage is nothing more than shredded cabbage so the tartar sauce kind of acts as the sauce for the cabbage to trick you into thinking it is Cole slaw. But when you are eating and all the textures and flavors start to mesh together, you do not notice the tartar sauce flavor. Even though this looked small, it sat heavy in my stomach. So much so that I did not need to think or look at food for the rest of the night. I still felt the effects of that when I woke up in the morning. read more

Our food arrives within a reasonable timeframe. The burrito was very much there, no tin foil, making me wonder how to eat it. Bite in and find good garlic flavor with the shrimp. There's nothing more than shrimp and rice. No lettuce or tomato dices. I should have read the menu more clearly as all is as described. Don't assume. There was a lot of shrimp and each bite included a taste of shrimp, so positive. On the chicken enchilada, Hubs thought it was average. The flavors were good, but a generic sense overall. It's a good neighborhood spot and the service is great. Definitely not an authentic place and the blend with the city's food culture isn't for me. Probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in the burgh. It is unassuming from the outside but trust me when I say that the food will not disappoint! When I first came it was late lunch time and the restaurant was empty. I ordered the CHIMICHANGA BURRITO and it was my first time having that, it was good! It was very filling but pretty heavy since it's a deep fried burrito. The next couple times I came it was Sunday lunch and the restaurant had a couple of patrons. But the guac is really only enough for about a third of a bag of chips - why even bother with the second bag? The guac even tasted spoiled. I threw it away. I hate to say this, but Pittsburgh's Vietnamese: almost non-existent but, where it exists, bad. Pizza: not great, not at all. Sub sandwiches: horribly over-priced and not that great. People were coming in picking up takeout and there were only 2 people working that night, the cook and the guy at the register. I waited about 10 minutes in line to order my food. I chose to get the enchiladas, 1 chicken and one cheese, combo plate. It took about 20 minutes for the food to come after all of my friends ordered there's. I give the food three stars. The enchiladas were ok. I also had rice on my plate but it wasn't cooked thoroughly. The chips and salsa that they gave us was extremely cold. I never realized how much I liked room temperature salsa before now. If you are looking for an inexpensive outing, where you can bring friends and get some tacos, be sure to check it out. One night last week, Kay napped too late and forgot to make dinner. When she picked me up from work, she impatiently said, "We need to eat out! Pick a place! Hurry! I have a starvation migraine!" I did remember that a Mexican restaurant had recently opened across from where St. Francis Hospital (my former employer) used to be, and I hadn't been there yet (blame Yelp!), so to Penn Avenue we drove. After finding a safe spot on the street, we walked over to find something that came off as a Taco Bell given a massive, upmarket upgrade. They've also crafted the zenith of taco salads in what they call the Los Cabos Supreme Tostada. It is everything SoCal Mexican inside a flaxen and flaky tostada basket, just like many a chain makes, and not a single component, from the guacamole, crema, and shrimp to the ground beef skipped a beat or was wasted. If you are short on dough, split this with someone, and you'll both come away from it stuffed as well as gratified. I needed nothing else to go with it. I'm a Mexican food lover. My boyfriend is not. It's quite upsetting to me because it limits the restaurants we go to. With that being said, I have found a place that he is willing to visit! We've been to Los Cabos about two or three times now and were left impressed after each visit. It's not a traditional sit down restaurant. You order at the front counter and they will bring you the food. The dining room is decent size, but nothing special. Their is Spanish/Mexican decor and they have Univision playing on the TV. There was only one of other table dining during our last visit. I have a feeling more people get their orders to go. However, if you eat-in, you get chips and salsa for free! Yippie! The food and value here is unbeatable! I always get the combo meal. For around $10 you get your choice of two items (like a tamale and enchilada), beans and rice. It is a huge dish for a great price! Everything tastes authentic and delicious! I think my favorite dish is their cheese enchilada. My boyfriend likes their chimichangas. We usually end each meal with fried ice cream (because why wouldn't we?). Yummy! I'm getting hungry just typing this. Once again, the portion is huge and well worth the $5. Service is always very friendly and you can tell they truly appreciate the business. During our last visit, the cook accidentally made me a cheese enchilada instead of the beef one I asked for. Rather than throwing the cheese one out, they let me keep both! It's things like that, that patrons remember and keep us coming back for more. Only reason I'm not giving them the full five stars, is because their hours are sort of weird. On Yelp, they are listed as staying open till 10PM on weekdays. Disclaimer: This is only a review for takeout, however if your food tastes amazing after being wrapped up and transported for nearly half an hour, I'd say that speaks volumes about its quality. I get burritos delivered to my office from Los Cabos via UberEats. They're large (Chipotle sized but not like this has anything else in common with Chipotle!) so one typically feeds me lunch for two days. There's always a side of salsa included, which is a nice touch coming from this Californian. The bottom half is wrapped in foil for a contained eating experience, and the tortilla is large enough to amply hold all the filling without coming unfolded on either end. The tortilla is also thick and stretchy enough to not break when filled. Standard burritos come with guacamole, pico, and your choice of meat. You can add on a wide variety of toppings, however I usually keep it simple and only add beans or hot sauce. There's also a California style burrito stuffed with fries, sour cream, and cheese in addition to meat. Few places around here serve this San Diego staple, so I appreciate seeing it here. I wish there were a few more shredded meat or spicy options, but for the price and overall quality I'm a fan. For what it's worth, Taco Bell has better food and this place makes chipotle look like fine dining. There is a major lack of flavor. Everything was dry and bland. I asked for a side of rice and beans and they put it inside the burrito. The $12 overpriced overfilled burrito looked so sad all alone on the plate. Seriously who charges $12 for a burrito with no sides? It's also worth noting they don't serve alcohol, and Mexican without beer should be a crime.
