The food was fantastic. I had the Baja Shrimp and Hongos tacos. Both were very good. The tacos are smallish but at least the server tells you that up front so you order accordingly. The vibe there is good. Kind of hip and bar-like but not with the gritty, dive bar scene thing. Family friendly and some nice outdoor seating. Service was good but a little slow. They must have been a little short staffed at the time but our server was on it. read more

Time for an update. This place still has some of the better tacos out there. My favorite is now the carnitas. I love all the ingredients in this taco, especially the guacamole and the pickled red onions. So tasty! The location was great, with a nice dining area outside. Unfortunately the service was a bit slow. One last thing on the tacos, beware that they are quite smaller than ususal. So you may need more than you think. Also, they are priced a bit high for their size, so be aware of that. read more

Nicely done. Comfortable bar with relatively low lighting and nice decor. The noise level was relatively low, but I was also visiting mid-afternoon. The staff seemed very capable and helpful. The beer options were somewhat limited, but that's fine. I think they're trying to be a little more of a cocktail bar. And the beer was genuinely nicely served with a good variety of options on tap. Good representation of different styles. In terms of food, I ordered a few of their tacos. They're available a la carte, so it's easy to put together a platter of tacos with a few different fillings. The tacos are relatively small, which I view as a good thing. Easier to try a few. They even had a few vegetarian fillings that I could choose from. I would say this feels like a reasonably comfortable downtown destination. It feels a little corporate, but still comfortable and well thought out. Works for me. read more

Had a great dinner the other night at Bakersfield. We started with the salsa trio which was delicious. Then each got 3 different tacos, each one was full of flavor and so so good. The margaritas are also great. I love the outdoor seating especially as it's getting warm. Our server was also super kind, attentive and funny which made our time that much better. This is one of my favorite casual spots downtown. read more

While the chips and guac and outdoor seating were nice, those things alone can't really get higher than a few star rating. The chicken and carnitas tacos I ordered were served with the meat cold, which I wasn't expecting. It seemed like it must be intentional, since all of the tacos we ordered with meat were very cold. Not my preference. The kid's cheese quesadilla was four taco shells cut in half and loaded with cheese. The mandarin oranges that came with the quesadilla were oddly hot; maybe they'd been sitting on a shelf above the oven? All the food temperatures at this meal were pretty confusing! I've been here before for a margarita and appetizer and I think that's what I'd stick to. The happy hour deals were good and the server was nice. read more

Linguini taglines this with: "Surprisingly good tacos for the Pittsburgh area." Classic high ceiling gastropub vibe replaced with a Mexican menu and decor. It's 2026, everyone can do tacos these days. If you can't accept that, you can't accept America as the melting pot it is. Land of the umarginalized kinda marginalized... still marginals, but less so. Huh? Whatever. Onto the food and reasoning for myself wandering the shockingly perky streets of Pittsburgh. In no way do I assert that the people of Pittsburgh are percilicious. In fact the opposite. I simply mean I'm shocked by how many restaurants and bars there are down the two lanes of street in the entire city. I shan't disclose too much of myself or my doings but I had some business to attend to. Notice I did not say to take care of. Because I wasn't there for that. In fact, I shouldn't even have been there. I was, in a sense, brought to entertain. There is no shame to it, I will call it as it is. A corporate dummy sent to use his striking swagger and suave to keep others content as they do dealings of mediocrity. Fine by me. You know what else was fine by me? These tacos. Got a variety of them. All were actually really good. Taco shells were actually texturable and the creations were not overwhelming or insistent - yet they were different enough and worked well in complimentary and contrasting ways. What was more fantastic is I sat in silence the entire time as the four attending with me - of whom I'd not call colleagues or acquaintances - more so, people I share in work with; As they gossiped until their tongues fell out of their mouth. Luckily, I was not tasked with the "project" of picking them up off the ground. Instead I hit back a light Corona in order to fit in to the atmosphere and fit in to my role as a collaborator. See you later? Probably not. My days in Pittsburgh will always be minimal, but if you're in the area would definitely stop in. You'll have a pleasant time and a tasty meal. read more

Second time coming here, this time for happy hour, and the food was great both times. Drinks too! The sauces were the highlight, bold flavors and the spice level was perfect. Not shown are the tacos we got, al pastor all six, so so so good. Taquitos were crispy but not dry inside and the empanadas were light but the perfect amount of cheese. Bartender/server in the basement was great, had the answer to every question and poured a great specialty cocktail! read more

Of course they're busy during the weekend evening hours but they have bar seating both up and downstairs so that helps the walk-ins. The host seemed unwilling to go out of his way for anything and almost made me feel discouraged about visiting here. I asked about seating for 2, he said it was pretty busy and I was like yeah obviously but what about bar seating. He said he doesn't know it's probably too busy there too and I just said I'm gunna go check myself and there was literally half the bar downstairs empty. So I didn't appreciate the lack of willingness to ensure customer service right at the front door. I sat myself at the bar and it took a minute to get acknowledged by the bartenders. Their seasonal margarita was a guava passionfruit. I did not like it and couldn't wait for my friend to get there so she could drink it haha it gave me instant heartburn. I ordered the pineapple margarita next and it was better but still not great. The last time we came, I also disliked the margaritas so I'm done ordering these anymore. They're either too sour, too sweet, or both. How can a taco place screw margaritas up so badly. We ordered the guacamole and it was actually good this time, I was sad I didn't have more. Last time I got it, it lacked seasoning and flavor. So I'm not thrilled about the inconsistency of the kitchen with this. I got tacos Al pastor and fish. Both were good, I'd get the al pastor again for sure. The fish had too much sauce for my liking. They are smaller palm sized street tacos so I could eat 3-4 depending on appetizers. So I'd come back here for the food but not the drinks which is disappointing. read more

Had a great time at Bakersfield. The queso was really good, and the chips that came with it were perfectly salted and honestly addictive. I also tried the seasonal guava margarita which was so delicious. We sat outside, which made it an even better experience as it sits right along Penn Ave. read more

Everything was really good, we got a variety of tacos and the favorites were Baja shrimp, Carnitas and Al Pastor really hard to pick though! The pollo rojo tacos were good but was a bit dry compared to everything else but still good. The drinks were also good really smooth and refreshing! Ordered the chips with trio salsa and the guac both were very flavorful and fresh, each salsa had great flavor definitely worth trying! Really good experience and the atmosphere was chill! read more

Service was fine. Food, not so much. Queso we got was broken. Watery and like cottage cheese. All my food was cold. I got a poblano, some tacos--they were barely warm and dry. Not sure why this place has such great reviews. read more

Finally got to try Bakersfield! Quite a popular spot for tacos here on Penn Ave. However, I decided to try a different part of their menu. I got to try their Milanese Torta and a side of rice and beans. The Milanese torta was amazing. Almost a bit like chicken park (both breaded chicken), but in differently spiced and sandwich form. Breading was light, and the chicken was juicy. The portion was quite nice too. Very fresh vegetables. I will say, although the green sauce was good, I wish they offered something besides just salsa as a dipping sauce. The rice and beans were pretty great too. A little expensive as a side, though. The rice is flavorful, with hints of cilantro and maybe a little lemon. Beans are great too, almost creamy, and topped with more sour cream. All in all, quite good! read more

We stopped into Bakersfield on our way back from a Pirates game, looking for a more laid-back spot to grab food and drinks, something casual since we were still in our baseball jerseys. This place absolutely hit the mark. It was a Saturday night and, while it was lively, it wasn't overly packed. We were able to grab a couple seats at the bar without a wait, which was perfect. The vibe was relaxed and fun, great for a post-game meal without needing to dress up. We started with margaritas, and I went for the mezcal one. It was smoky, strong, and honestly really good, one of those drinks that you sip slow and still feel satisfied after just one, especially after a few at the ballpark. We kicked things off with a couple of appetizers: the chips and dip trio (three kinds of salsa for $7, awesome deal, especially downtown) and the empanadas, which were also well-priced and delicious. For the main event, I tried three tacos: short rib, baja shrimp, and al pastor. I seriously couldn't pick a favorite they were all that good. What really stood out was the value. The food was excellent, the prices were super reasonable (tacos were only $4.50 each), and I walked out full without feeling like I overpaid. For the quality of food, the pricing is kind of unbelievable. Overall, Bakersfield is a must if you're in the area especially if you want great food, drinks, and a casual vibe without the downtown price tag. I'd come back in a heartbeat. read more

Walked in after exploring area for drinks and a snack. Lots of seating areas, as well as a bar area. Not sure about parking as we walked here. Ordered many different drinks. All were tasty. Let's see, how can I help others? My friend and I stopped at Bakersfield today, Friday, July 30th, 2026 We were surprised by the amount of our check, not because we cared about paying it, but because it seemed a bit odd. They have listed in their drinks menu a Cadillac Margarita with Clase Azul tequila for $28.00 It already comes with Grand Marnier, that's what a Cadillac Margarita should be. Well, we requested El Tesoro tequila which is not as pricey as Clase Azul, but I just don't like Clase Azul. Anyway, we were charged $34.00 for our Cadillac Margaritas, it just doesn't make sense and I feel like that is not fair. A "rare" attempt to explain the charge, from our waitress Veronica, was that she had to charge for the Grand Marnier!!! Go figure!!! As far as I'm concerned, that was my first and last visit to Bakersfield. Once again, I just don't appreciate unfairness. Watch what you ask for. Take care folks read more

This is one location on Bakersfield, what I'd call an upscale chain. I'd say it's 3.5 or 4. Our Party of Seven got a couple of orders of guacamole (very good, freshly made, with nice crispy chips), a bunch of tacos, a couple of salads and a couple of sides. I liked my tacos, fresh ingredients, nice combos (carnitas and shrimp were my choices). We got the side of corn with cookies and spices. Very good. The salad was excellent. read more

Found this restaurant via unkind and really like it. I did both times take out since my hotel was nearby. However I did partake in their happy hour 4-6pm chips a huge amount plus dip (I chose guacamole) was great at half price of $10. I did tacos and Willy salad with chicken across the two times. The added chicken in the salad is a bit on the low side. The tacos were solid. I liked the short ribs and the carnita tacos. The fried shrimp and fish tacos were just okay. Service was great and super friendly and atmosphere is nice. Would be a good place to hang with friends. read more

Great service on a Friday lunch time. Food is fresh and the restaurant is nicely decorated.

Was in town for sporting events and in between stumbled upon this place with 3 others. Glad we did. The mezcal margaritas were awesome and the two pitchers enough for a good buzz. Food excellent too. A large group of us (15) invaded this place when it had just opened and sat at a very nice bar. We were initially the only people in there, but within 30 minutes, the place was pretty full. It seems like the go-to place for many locals. The bar had a large inventory of great tequila, whiskey, and draft beers. Our server was excellent and took everything in stride. He was quick with getting us drinks to start our day. The food was very good. We ordered a variety of things, including chips and salsa, fresh guacamole, and some very good street tacos. The tacos were offered with a variety of fillings. I had a mix of beef and fish. All the food was well prepared and the meat and fish were perfectly spiced and very tasty. I asked for a hot salsa, and it was hot, so beware. The value was good! Check this place out if you are in the area. read more

My partner and I have been to Bakersfield a couple of times now and each time it is pretty solid. The queso is decent and the tacos are pretty tasty. I think we've tried most of the tacos if not all at this point and the Al Pastor is definitly my fav and I believe the Short Rib was my partners favorite. Least fav = Papas Rajas and I typically love a vegetarian taco but this one is just a bit bland. Everything else is really good and love, love, love their Spicy Margs! read more

Okay the tacos here are good but I low key feel they were a little pricey for how small they are. I know it's a traditional size, but it did feel a little silly how expensive the bill was for how hungry we still were after hahaha! I think this could be a great place for a quick bite and drink before going out! We definitely could've just ordered wrong too, so I could be biased. Otherwise, everything tasted really good, the drinks were yummy and our waiter was nice and attentive. I think it's a good place to try, but not sure it's a favorite for me. read more

This is a great spot with really good food. The vibe is cool and the service was spot on. It's hard to find Mexican food that meets my standards in this area since we lived in California for so long, but this place offers really delicious food. The taquitos were my favorite and we got a bunch of tacos, which were all very tasty. The only thing that I didn't love is that salsa and chips are considered an appetizer, which is no bueno--this should included with the meal. The cocktails were really good, my fave was the cranberry ginger margarita. So festive and fun. Parking is a pain. Finding a spot in the street was tough so we ended up paying $15 in a lot across the street. read more
