This is a great dive bar to check out in lawrenceville. In a great area & always lively. I enjoy their food, typical bar food here. Good wings. Great bartenders & staff.

William Penn is a great bar. The food always comes really quickly, we love all the servers especially Becca. It's a great value but also great bar food. It can get pretty packed on the weekends with football so get there early to get a seat.

Best wings in pittsburgh hands down!!! My favorite is always the spicy ranch. Great place to get together with friends/watch sports. Becca is the best and provides 10/10 service :) Can't wait for the next visit!

The William Penn Tavern is one of the few places that my girlfriend and I both agree on when it comes to bar food. Since moving to Pittsburgh back in 2015, it has become a location that I always recommend to friends. Their wings are seriously good. Always $1 each and they are fried and coated to perfection. I typically order the Buffalo sauce which is an awesome blend of spice and pickleness. All of their appetizers such as the basket of fries come out in large portions. I will note that the WPT is busy on nights when Pittsburgh teams are playing. The environment is typically loud between the music and patrons. I have no problem with it, but expect a loud environment. If you want a calmer lunch, it's a great spot for bar food!

The old WPT was definitely very different back in the day. It's pretty big in here and the crowd is definitely a lot older than the college crowd back on Walnut St. More young professionals hanging out and watching games. It's a typical dive bar with beer and well drinks and bar food. The food looked ok. The drinks were ok. It gets pretty crowded on a Friday night and they do card at the door. It's also pretty loud in here, you have to scream and everyone's screaming so it adds to the noise. Nice spot for the nostalgia and when you feel like getting wings and a beer. Service was kinda slow and if you sit at a table, you order at the table and not at the bar. The waitress did check on us a lot which was nice.

We came to try kitchen sink wings, and they did not disappoint. A little sauce heavy, but overall good. Great vibes, only street parking though.

William Penn Tavern is a great local neighborhood bar. Open seven days a week- perfect spot to watch Pittsburgh sports! Serving daily dollar wings and beer specials. Home of the Original John Daly and Kitchen Sink Wing Sauce. They have a typical tavern-style food menu with wings, salads, wraps, sandwiches and all the delicious fried appetizers. Highly recommend their fried pickles- they aren't chips and aren't spears- more of a pickle fry! And I always find myself getting their amazing wings- I change the sauce each time I go so I can try something new- I have liked every single one. Grab a stool at the bar, along their open-air windows or a seat at a table and kick back with some friends with enjoying a cold one and some good food.

Another visit to WPT and another dozen kitchen sink wings. Very good. Highly recommend. Service was great as always. Got a seat as soon as we walked in on a busy Saturday evening. Will be back soon.

My favorite wings in Pittsburgh! I've been coming to the WPT since it was in Shadyside and have yet to find wings that top theirs. The buffalo sauce is just the right spice level and nice and vinegary. The wings are crispy. They don't skip on the sauce either so definitely want some napkins. Additionally, the fries are always crispy + well seasoned, and the ranch is great for dipping both wings and fries. This is a casual place and most of the time, you seat yourself. No complaints on service, I've always found servers were attentive and this time is no different. WPT does get a little loud (touchtunes music) if you go later on a weekend. All in all, a great spot to get wings and catch a game!

Your friendly neighborhood bar with several screens for sport, touchtunes to for your listening pleasure and fantastic wings. The bar staff were pleasant. The patrons were courteous. The beer selection is large and inexpensive. They also have a variety of NA beers to choose from as well. $1 wings all of time. They are extra crispy and the "kitchen sink" sauce is divine. Perfect, chill, spot to catch a game, beer, wings and some great conversation. Thumbs up.

We stopped in on a Tuesday night and opted to sit at the bar since it wasn't busy. Something important to note is that when we arrived, the music was playing softly in the background. While the prices were decent, the service was not. Our waitress came over to us after our appetizers arrived, I asked for a refill, we made eye contact, she ignored me, and turned around. It took another ten minutes before I was able to get a refill, and she never asked again for the rest of the time we were there. The people sitting beside us arrived later and ordered similar food to us, and they somehow received their food quite some time before ours came out. I am almost certain the bartender forgot to put in our order. Halfway through our meal (which was okay at best), someone turned the music up so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. I'm pretty sure "Brandy, You're A Fine Girl" played three times in a 30-minute window. It felt like we were intruding on a private party despite there being maybe seven other people at the bar. Despite clearly being done with our food, it took us another 30 minutes to get our checks. If you're looking for cheap bar food and don't mind repetitive music at varying levels of volume and being ignored by your bartender, give Sidelines a try.

Bocce. Not the most popular sport, but honestly a nice lackadaisical, recreational sport that accommodates all types of people. The facility is pristine (probably since it is relatively new)... but it hopefully stays this way! Six courts with different colored sets of balls. The carpet is smooth and rolls well with excellent foot paths and seating areas. The extras make the experience feel very professional with lane timers, measuring tapes, ball racks, and score keeping methods. Even down to the rules laid out including my favorite.. "No swearing in English" The bar area is also top notch! Self serve beer taps and wine taps (these are the coolest). Just tap your card and they have siphons that pull your wine right from the bottle.. and chilled glass coolers to enhance your experience. A dock for a food truck to pull right up to! They served us multiple pizza types (pepperoni, white, margherita, and pesto chicken), wings (honey barbecue and original), and french fries. They more than accommodated our group with ample refills of the food and a plethora of to-go containers at the ready to ensure that we took everything home! I grabbed an Orange Crush from the bar and it was refreshing with a strong amount of alcohol. The bartenders are used to their Italian crowd, so they aren't messing around. They also have a cigar lounge, party room, merch store, slot games, and a clear Italian pride. The logo and decor is strongly covered in the Italian flag.

We were disappointed when it closed. On our way back from Cavacini's nursery last week, we passed by and saw that it was open! We turned around to see what was up. This space is now "The Pitch" and it is awesome! It is a place dedicated to the sport of soccer/football (hence "the pitch") much of the inside is the same, but with lots of British football/soccer swag and games on every TV. It is even cooler than the last place! Brian, one of the owners, was on hand at the bar the first time we went and so friendly and helpful and chatty. We enjoyed his company. We shared a Garlic and Rosemary Grilled chicken sandwich. It came on a lightly toasted bread. It was delightful! A nice balance and blend of rosemary and garlic flavors with spinach and tomato and a great aioli. Side of fries were crisp and lightly seasoned. The ranch dressing was the just-right creamy texture and a great mix of herbs, buttermilk and mayo ( ?) This time, ( couldn't stop thinking about that sandwich!) we brought our pup and sat in the cozy courtyard with umbrella tables, a TV for soccer games and a few outdoor games as well. Brian ( again!) came to check on us and brought water for Rooney. Our order this time was a smash burger for Todd and that chicken sandwich. The chicken was perfect, but this time it was on a small hoagie roll, which dampened the flavors, but was still delicious. Todd declared the smash burger just right medium rare.
