Just awful. Has gone down hill entirely. Food is so bad, skimps on meat and the cheese is never melted. Bad food, super americanized, and dry. Used to love this place but after our last 2 visits a couple of months ago, we don't plan on ever going back to eat here. Maybe for a marg, and to sit outside in the front, but that's it.

Where is the filling hahaha

The food is delicious but everytime I Uber Eats the same exact burrito it's either of decent size or absolutely tiny. If I pay $20 to order extra toppings I expect the burrito to include those toppings and to be of decent size, not have inches of tortilla wrapped around the burrito. Everytime this happens, I'm just going to say the order didn't arrive and get my refund. Be better and be consistent. It's your job to cook the food so don't spare yourself by giving people less.

Chorizo Burrito--

We ordered for delivery a few weeks ago. My husband got the chorizo burrito and i stole a bite...so glad I did. Just the right amount of spiciness. I got the California burrito because French fries duh. The steak was juicy and not dry at all. I got my daughter a side kid ride and I wish I would've gotten myself like 28 of them. Probably the best Mexican/Spanish/Hispanic rice in the city

This Illy Philly went back to El Burro and I have to say that they are extremely pleasant when you come in, and there is a lot to offer on their menu, but my tastebuds weren't pleased with their Vegan options. I ordered a vegan taco and when I bit into it the vegan meat was dry and tasteless. I also ordered the quesadilla ( vegan) and it wasn't that good either. I want to say, again, that they really give great service, but their Vegan options weren't that good.

Strongly recommend if your hungry and in the area, though I don't think I would go out of my way for it. 10 buck lunch, and I don't know which was faster, the kitchen preparing it or me wolfing it down. Bar seating along the walls and front window seats are nice! I had a pollo asada burrito and it was a tad on the dry side, but since I use a lot of hot sauce it ended up being a delectable lunch :). I should have taken a picture of the burrito but it wasn't fancy or anything and I ate it to fast...

Carnitas Burrito

Fun little shop on Federal St. not far from Allegheny Commons. Came in on a rainy Saturday afternoon for lunch and there really wasn't a wait which was nice. There is only about 6-8 seats and they were mostly occupied so we took it to go. The flavor of the carnitas was good as it had a bit of a cinnamon flavor which was unexpected and nice! The pico was fresh and the rice was tender. Portion size was good too. Just wish there was a bit more meat in the burrito.

Chicken Rolled Taco

Amazing food ! Got the shrimp tacos, rolled chicken tacos, chips and guac... they killed it on the flavors- everything was perfect! If you like shrimp, try the tacos, you won't be disappointed! These tacos are worth the trip to the north side of Pittsburgh!

I ordered from El Burro on Grubhub and I had a really good experience! I really appreciate that they separate their menu and clearly note vegan and vegetarian items. There are so many options to choose from but I got the vegan potato taco, vegan chorizo taco, and the vegan rolled potato tacos. The tacos were good, not great. They could have used a little more flavor. But the rolled potato tacos were amazing. They were crispy even though they were delivered and they were so good. I definitely recommend trying them if you check this place out!

Ordered take out for lunch. Happy that the hard shell tacos withstood the journey. I liked that they loaded the tacos with plentiful toppings, but must say I think they were missing something - some sort of flavor for sure. Also, this may have been my fault for not adding to my order, but I would have loved to add a sauce! Will order again, just take my time understanding the menu. Also, almost $5 for vegetarian/vegan tacos with no sides is a little on the steep side.

Pollo street tacos

Spending a week at the hospital to care for a family member. I was tired of eating at AGH cafeteria, it was good by the way. Lots selections during the week. I found this little spot with in easy walking distance. It is right next a pizza place. I walked in and the place is small but has big taste. I ordered street tacos to go. Two pollo and one beef. The service was great and didn't take long. The food smelled great. However, the restaurant didn't honor the Yelp check in for a free drink. No big deal. I have had a lot of street tacos in many different areas. These were really good and fresh, even the security guard at the hospital commented on the smell. I would recommend giving this little burro a try.

My boyfriend and I tried the carnitas, chorizo, shrimp, and mahi mahi tacos. I didn't love or hate any of them. I liked the chorizo taco, but it wasn't anything special. We also got guac and chips on the side. Their guac tasted identical to Chipotle's guac, which means it was delicious. We really wondered if it actually was from Chipotle because it tasted way too similar to it. Loved the chips that the guac came with. They provided basically a whole bag of chips and a plastic container of the guac. Taste | 3.5 Atmosphere | 3 Presentation | 3 Service | 3 OVERALL | 3.5

(The building is on the corner of 38th & Butler Streets, and "Esquina" means "corner.") My husband and I ate one dinner here as part of a Yelp Experience. (I reviewed my free meal under the listing for that event.) My husband is not a Yelper, so he paid for his meal. Guacamole and tostadas - 4.5 stars - This appetizer was a large size. The tostadas were nicely crispy and had the perfect amount of salt. The guacamole was fresh. My husband said that it was probably the best value that we have even gotten for chips and guacamole at any restaurant. Carne-asada street tacos - 3.5 stars - Again, the serving size was large. The tortillas reminded me a bit of my husband's Mexican grandma's tortillas. As for the carne-asada meat, my husband said, "I don't know what that was supposed to be." Eek! However, he added, "The beans and rice are very good. There's definitely a Mexican in that kitchen." Well, I do not know who the chefs are, but I hope that they accept that last comment as a compliment. These two menu items cost $42 plus tax and tip.

The shrimp tacos cost even more expensive, and they charge $10 for a plain cheese quesadilla that is totally meh. Unless you go at happy hour, you're also going to pay too much for a drink. Chorizo Cheese Dip - salty, savory, creamy perfection. We almost licked the bowl clean, no lies. Queso birria Tacos (w/ rice & beans) - I'm calling it right now: hands down the best birria I've EVER had. The corn tortillas were crisped to perfection. Plus, cilantro on the side? I probably should have ordered some salsa or hot sauce on the side, and it would have been nice to be prompted for that option. Overall, this is a comfortable destination. Reasonable food. The vibe is chill but energetic. At about 6:30pm, it was pretty packed. I loved that even the busy bartenders were aware of new patrons coming in the doors. One even seated a table from behind the bar! Bonus points for service! This is a 4 1/2-star review --- leaning 5. We ordered takeout to take to some friends' BYOF wine bar, so I'll look for my 5-star experience when we return soon in person! Food: We shared some seriously awesome ceviche. I was a bit alarmed at the $16 price tag, but it was totally worth it. There's a lot of shrimp with little filler. The seafood was plump with citrusy goodness - not too "cooked" - and packed a bit of heat, which hubs & I love. The enchiladas y mole was GREAT!! I'd prefer dark meat chicken, but props for the abundance of white meat! The mole was soooooo flavorful - def some heat mixed with a great cinnamony zing. The rice & black beans were really good. The guac y chips was so fresh and flavorful. (PS - that is one weird "coffee cup" style styrofoam takeout cup for the guac! Boo!!) The tomatillo salsa was not so bueno. The shrimp ceviche was also solid and quite large for the price. Finally, the churros were great, a bit sweet for me but the churro and the whipped cream go together nicely to create a joyous experience. Potentially even better than the food are the vibes and service, all of the waiters and owners are super nice and willing to interact with customers, definitely recommend coming here with a couple of friends and just enjoy the overall experience with great food! 4.9/5

Either way, the process was easy enough, and the staff all seemed very capable and kind. In terms of the food, it was generally good. I ordered a few different soft tacos (meaning corn tortillas) with some vegetarian fillings. It was nice to see the vegetable fillings on the menu, and they seemed to be well executed. Not life changing, but well executed. The chips were great, with just enough salt and a substantial thickness. The kind of chip that would easily survive some guacamole. On the other hand, the default salsa that came with the chips seemed off. I wish I would have ordered a side of some other style of salsa to compare, but I also had some decent salsa already in my fridge. The tamale was excellent: clearly made with some care. I particularly liked that they offered a vegetarian filling. All told, this seems like a fun destination for a nice day when you're walking around the area.
