Simple burrito joint that has handmade tortillas! Seating is all outdoors. There are tables in the front and back of the building. Service is usually pretty quick. This place is nostalgic for my husband because he grew up eating here. He loves their garbage burrito. I ordered their #6 value meal which comes with two taquitos, rice, and beans. The shredded beef was kinda dry and I wish they gave more of it. But the rice and beans were flavorful.
Really great fast casual place. I've gotten the steak garbage burrito and it was really good - might ask for less beans next time as they overpowered any steak taste, but still really good. Their guacamole is really light, but it doesn't brown as fast and still tastes good and really creamy. I also got the taco and a rolled chicken taco. The taco was great, a little too much cheese, but it was a great snack for my pup haha. They were def not stingy with the amount of guacamole that came with the rolled chicken taco, which was great. I'll def be ordering more burritos and regular tacos, plus guacamole. They're also super fast getting your order ready and very nice to you at the window. I've taken mine back to my hotel both times, but there is plenty of pup friendly outside seating if you're looking for it!
I'm lucky to get the opportunity to try a variety of restaurants throughout SoCal working in the Crane & Rigging industry. This is another gem found along the way! My coworker and I tried the ground beef enchiladas, shredded beef taquitos w/ guacamole & cheese and they definitely didn't disappoint. Everything was delicious, shredded beef was flavorful, the ground beef was amazing, red enchilada sauce was jumping with flavor and even the creamy guacamole was on point! I can't comment on the burritos, but from the looks of them and how many we saw being served I suspect they are at least par to what we had. I also have to note that the employees were very nice and welcoming. It's clearly a well established restaurant, I'm guessing 30+ years but it's obvious they take pride in ownership from the looks of things.
Maybe it was an off day but everything today was not great. I think my favorite item was my Arnold Palmer. I mistakenly got chips and cheese and a side of guac and I can't believe they serve the chips and cheese. It was super greasy and pretty gross. Chips were just sopping with grease. And it's covered in melted cheese that doesn't belong on chips (don't mistake this for chips and queso) The guac was ok but it's like a creamy guac so don't think you're getting ranch market style guac. The burrito was decent but it's like the way they folded it this time- it was broken open and the layers of ingredients were weirdly separated when we got it. I love that you can sit outside and service is definitely friendly and quick but this recent experience leaves a lot to be desired.
Food: Tacos Dorado was hoping for shredded beef but only saw ground beef. Lots of cheese and the meat good flavor Service: just normal window ordering Ambiance: nice parking and tables in back Would comeback to try more food
Pretty good first experience. Plenty of seating. Clean tables. All outdoor, no indoor dining area. Service was good. Pleasant. Food was good, fresh. Beans lacked a little something in flavor. Sour cream guacamole sauce had great flavor. Rice was good. Chile verde was a little off. Not sure if sauce is placed on it when serving it, didn't taste like it cooked in it. Rolled taco plate was good. Burrito was a nice size. We'll go back and try different items.
The lady's are always super friendly. Been coming to this place since I was little. The food is always yummy. The chile Colorado burritos are my favorite. Always a stop for me when I'm home from Hawai'i.
Handmade Tortillas! El burrito is amazing! I have had several different burritos and they're all amazing. If you're Mexican these are not traditional Mexican but I promise they're tasty. They're more like American burritos but I love them. You order through a window and they are pretty quick with the orders. There is seating at the front and in the back of the building so plenty of space. It is all outdoors but there is a restroom! Rating: 10/10
Awesome food here. Specifically, their burritos. Love the chili Verde burrito and occasionally get the "Garbage Burrito" too.
We've been living in SW Florida for five years, but I was recently blessed with the opportunity to return to my hometown of Redlands. For weeks, I'd asked my husband, "please can we go to El Burrito?" Bruce took me to El Burrito. Once upon a time, I ate at least once a week at El Burrito. My favorites were and are the special burrito with onions and rolled chicken tacos. Other good items are the enchiladas and always the beans and rice. We were living in South OC before we moved, so in more recent years, I'd only gone to El Burrito a couple of times. Bruce says I made him go there 3 times, but I only recall two. The tortillas are the same as ever!!! These are handmade at the store just like everything else and this is the burrito flour tortilla, not that trash they sell in the store. The corn tortillas are delicious fried up the old school way. So, there is a style of Mexican-American Chicano food that El Burrito has perfected. I am not kidding these beans I had the other day were better than ever. I think they have added MORE delicious lard. Also, the rice seemed fancier, with pieces of tomato. The salsa is the exact same, maybe a little milder, but you can always ask for chile. Prices are fair; portions are generous. The ladies are nicer than ever and the place is freshly painted, well-maintained, and there are picnic tables in the back and the front. If you don't get what type of food this is, don't go here. Don't write reviews saying you wanted carne asada and not ground beef. Don't bitch and moan about animals out back, eat out front or take it home and eat inside. Don't talk about how there's no margaritas. So, I've made El Burrito guacamole at home because I love their style which is NOT "guacamole" as seen in most areas of Mexico or El Torito type restaurants. It's avocados, sour cream, garlic powder, and a little bit of chile. I saw them making it a few times and this is pretty much what it is and I really like it. Maybe you don't! Cool, good for you. Places like El Burrito are what makes lunchtime or casual meals special for ordinary people. This is a family-owned business that has been serving their same recipes for many years, but based on what I had the other day, making small improvements along the way. The menu board I put is the same board since I started going there in the 80s. They just repaint it using the same style of lettering and colors and update the prices. There is no replacement for the real El Burrito and Bruce (Philly man) agrees with me. He says it's the So Cal version of the hole-in-the-wall real Philly cheesesteaks back home. El Burrito thank you for blessing my life with your homemade delicious food.
Found a piece of metal scouring pad in my burrito. I was so excited to try the burritos here but right before I swallowed I felt something hard thankfully I pulled it out in time, very disappointed.
Crowded but we got our food pretty fast! Food was always good and from the crowd everyone likes it too!
Place is small with no indoor seats, just a few outside tables. You walk up to a window and order. Line was fairly long so I assumed it must be good, and my boyfriend tried day before and said it was tasty. When I tried it was solid Mexican food but nothing spectacular. My boyfriend said the day before it was better. If I lived in area I'd try again. Staff was friendly. Packaging is simple on paper plates with aluminum foil. As far tacos, no vegetarian options just beef (ground only) and chicken. Went with the chili relleno and chicken taco combo with rice and beans. The chili relleno breading was a perfect thickness which I appreciated. Nice and cheesy, too. They only have one salsa and it was too spicy for me. Probably a medium on heat scale (I am a mild girl lol). They also provided a avocado-type salsa with the taco that was good. Think El Apollo Loco avocado dressing. read more

This is a local favorite and has been around for a very long time. They are known for their rolled chicken tacos, which I absolutely love. They are the only thing I've tried, as once I find something I like, I never deviate, which is kind of my loss. They are served with their signature guacamole, which I think is a combination of sour cream and guacamole. It's really yummy! I order them with rice and beans, it also comes with lettuce. It all goes together wonderfully and I understand why it's a local favorite. Service is fast and friendly as well. read more

Don't sleep on El Burrito! This is a must visit spot in Redlands. Every time I'm in the area I make sure to pick up a bite to eat here! The evening rush can get pretty busy so if you can, try ordering ahead. There is limited outdoor seating in the front and also in the back. Parking in front of the restaurant is a bit cramped but fear not! There is more space to park behind the restaurant. The garbage burrito with Chile verde meat is AAAAAMAZING! The tortillas are superb, very fresh and not super thick. You can clearly tell the food here is made with love. The burritos are pretty hefty so I usually only eat half in one sitting. You can expect to have a full stomach after. I order my burrito with everything in it and they provide red salsa on the side which ads a subtle kick of flavor to each bite. read more

I am so sad to report this place is flavorless. My husband found it and was so excited because they said home made flour tortillas. It was such a let downs every thing has no flavor and just not good. The prices aren't bad but even then the guacamole is like 90 percent what taste like mayo and 10 percent avocado. I will Definitely not be Trying again. They are fast but not worth it. The seating is outside which isn't bad but not for me. The place looks like it needs ac for the inside because the girls look like they are uncomfortable and sweating. read more

Well I have tried to his place twice. First time okay but got the taquitos and bean and cheese burrito. Decided to grab a Chili Verde Burrito with rice and beans to go. Never again. This is the dryest burrito I have ever had. I'm not sure why it has red chilli flakes , if it chilli Verde ? What a bummer. At least it's not a $15 burrito like other places. The chips were good. read more

Literally the worst "Mexican food" I've ever had! They had no limes or lemons! When asked why they said they never carry them. I asked if the they're actually a Mexican restaurant she said no we have Mexican cooks but not owners! Clearly you can tell by the product of food coming out! They have no carne asada even though the menu says they do online which is the only reason I went to this place! The place is was also swarming with homeless people. If I ever stay at the hotel next door again I will never eat here ever again!! What a waste of money and time. read more

This is my first review, and I didn't think I would have to download this app honestly.. I don't want to judge a book by it's cover but the food tasted like the quality of the building. The service was alright, the wait time isn't long. I ordered a Bean, Cheese, and Rice burrito and it tasted like school food, and not the good kind... The cheese was not fully mixed in with beans and rice. For the meat choices, I saw ground beef mostly and other meats. Also, THE SODA, oh my gosh, it did not taste fresh. The soda tastes days old and does not have its usually carbonated taste.. Overall, the food tasted un-appetizing and like something I can make at home with half effort. This is not what I expect at a "restaurant", I want something that tastes like I can't make this at home with no effort. read more

Second time here. It was terrible. Everything was bland. I was really let down, because I think I remembered the first time being good enough to make the trek. Fail. Ordered hard shell tacos, chile verde burrito, and taquitos. The tacos were the best, but don't think I'll ever go back. read more

Been wanting to try this establishment for awhile, finally we had a chance to stop and eat at, El Burrito. My wife ordered the chile relleno and she stated it was so so. I ordered the meat burrito and I was disappointed with the taste (no flavor) but it was a descent size burrito. We both ordered some tacos and them tacos were real good. We both enjoyed their tacos and their sauce provided in cups. We will give this place another shot, maybe just an off day, I hope read more

El Burrito is the place you want to go when you are craving LA's Tito's Taco! The tacos taste the same to me, crispy, have lots of lettuce and cheese, and the burritos are very similar too. It has the same order outside window and far less crowded. I've tried two of the burritos: chili Colorado and carnitas verde. Both were good and I liked that you can choose to have it with only beans, only rice or both. The chili relleno was okay but not impressive. The salsa is similar to Tito's. The horchata is decent and flavored with mild cinnamon, so if like me, you want to taste a lot of cinnamon, you might want to skip it. The staff are friendly and even though you won't get a box of chips like Tito's, you can get a few in select dishes. The place has had a line the few times I have gone, but the wait was not longer than a few minutes, so the service is very fast. The food comes out in minutes too! I do love this place for quick weeknight meals and will definitely be a regular! read more

Nice solid old school Mexican. A big standout is their homemade flour tortillas for the burritos. We had the ground beef/bean burrito and the #5 combo - an old school classic of ground beef crunchy taco with cheese enchilada and rice. Taco tasted like the meat was cooked in the shell. Get extra of the salsa, very mild, but still tasty. Service was fast, parking on street and in back, clean restrooms and shaded outdoor seating both in front and in back. read more
