I don't know what some of the lower reviews are about. This place is the bomb & has been since back in the 1980's-1990's when we used to go here all the time. I relocated a long time ago to San Francisco. There is a lot of hype surrounding "Mission Style" burritos. Some of them are really good but nothing compares to El Burrito! Every time I visit, I have to come here at least once but usually twice. The secret lies in their homemade flour tortillas, made fresh everyday. Their refried beans are also delicious. The red taco sauce should be bottled & sold in in stores. I would definitely put that in my shopping cart. When I get back to SF, I'm left craving a burrito from here b/c none of the taco joints here make their own flour tortillas like that! Shout out to their crispy tacos too! Ordered 2 burritos one wet other regular, and sad to say but it was pretty disappointing the meat in the burritos looked and tasted like ground beef instead of chucks of carne asada how a normal burrito would be. El Burrito is a must do whenever we are in Redlands. We discovered it while at the University of Redlands as students. In transit from Arizona to the South Bay, I arrived just before closing and the team at El Burrito were very kind to allow me to get my 12 burrito order in. The handmade tortillas make such a difference in flavor and texture. In our house - a 90 minute drive away on a good day - we have four different burrito orders: 1) Garbage, 2) Garbage w/Chile Verde, 3) Chile Verde w/rice, and 4) Bean, cheese, and rice for our vegetarian. Plus a taco and Horchata to eat there before getting back in the car for the drive home. The hard shell taco was crispy. The balance of flavors with the house salsa with spice and coolness. The burritos freeze well. This allows us to savor the flavor a few weeks later if they last that long. It's El Burrito for dinner tonight and the family is happy. read more

I feel like the negative reviews here just don't know what to order. This spot is so good, it's affordable, and they're very fast. You can order online, but I recommend going in person so you have access to the full menu. The Chile relleno burrito with added beans, rice and guac is probably my favorite food right now. I've lived in Redlands for a very long time, but I've never stopped by this little stand, the reason mostly being because of the parking situation and because it's almost always jam-packed --hence why I had high expectations for this place. When places are consistently busy, it's usually due to something that the company offers, so I finally broke down and ordered some food. I picked up a burrito, taco, and enchilada just to have variety. When I got my food, I was entirely disappointed: the burrito tasted bland, and I couldn't even describe what the taco meat tasted like, and the worst was the enchilada --and speaking of that, the enchilada was literally given to me on a paper plate, with a thin type of material that made it difficult for me to eat off of. Overall, the food was disgusting. I genuinely would like to know (and I'm open to hearing recommendations) what's good here so I can give it at least one more try before calling it quits. read more

El Burrito will always have a special place in my heart, and everyone who knows me knows 'the rule'... if you are within 30 minutes of El Burrito... you MUST go to El Burrito. I went to U of R, and El Burrito was an at least once per week situation haha. And my order has not changed since 2003. Rice, Meet, Cheese and Guacamole Burrito, a side of chips and guacamole, and sometimes a drink. I easily get two meals from that. Sure the guacamole is more like avacado flavored sour cream, but it's part of the character and flavoring profile. I luckily have to drive past it a couple times each year so I can still get my fix. However, when I got there, I was distracted by the menu that listed the chile verde burrito which I ordered. As a vegetarian, I paid close attention and didn't take one bite. Instead, I gave it to a homeless man on the side of the road. Greatful for his burrito, I just ate the chips and guacamole that I ordered on the side. They were disgusting. Literally the worse chips I've ever ate. They tasted stale and I ended up throwing them away. The guacamole was bomb though! The salsa was flavorful as I tried some of the red salsa with the chips as well. In addition, the ice tea was delicious, but at .50 a refill, no thank you. Parking is a bit awkward when pulling out because of the tight spaces. I totally wouldn't dismiss this place. I have been going to El Burrito since they had all the open locacations in Colton, San Berdo, and Redlands. It's always been good, with the homemade flour tortillas and tasty salsa beans and rice, yummy taquitos. However.... the ground beef now has a weird texture. But today, i had a really bad experience. 2 different bites had a really long black hair in my burrito! What I do go here for is the home made tortillas and rolled chicken tacos with delicious quac/sour cream dip. It's the best Mexican food in town and it's not close. Also how we locked up on this we ordered extra lettuce and cheese and of course none of that when we opened up the burritos!! Also my husband puts his debit card in machine at the window and it declines but then immediately the cashier hands him the receipt and it says cash on it!! small little hole in the wall with the best tortillas. there's some parking in the front and more in the back but you can also park along the street if needed. you order at the window, wait for your food and find a table to sit at. BEAN RICE AND CHEESE - BRC burrito is a classic and they let u add lettuce and onions for no charge. do yourself a favor and at least add the onions! you also have the option to add guacamole and extra cheese for an additional charge. love how the rice is cooked and the tortilla is honestly the best in the area. i probably like this better than cuca's... will be back to try the rolled tacos! read more
