The exterior is very unassuming but once you walk in, you're greeted very warmly and you immediately notice a comfy and relaxed interior that harkens back to decades past. Remember...looks can be deceiving. El Bambi was recommended to us by a fellow camper. It is very clean, our waitress was friendly and attentive, thanks Bobbie. The food was great, they make their own buns for burgers. Even though we're not a local, we were treated as one. I highly recommend El Bambi for lunch. read more

Tucked away off the main highway next to Sinclair, this place dates back decades and the interior along with exterior show it's age. With plenty of R.V. parking and truck parking, this is a must stop for travelers. The service is friendly and the food is amazing. The coffee taste great and the prices won't hurt either. Good Breakfast Food. Clean Place. My daughter and I went to El Bambi Cafe for breakfast, on this part of our cross country trek. Good Choice! I got a Spanish Omelette and my daughter got a freshly made cinnamon roll. My omelette was real good, and there was lots of it! Rye toast and potatoes. YUM! The potatoes were the star of my breakfast, they made them just right, I kinda felt like Goldie Locks! Except with Breakfast Potatoes! Rye toast - not something you normally get excited about - but my wife can't eat any tiny seeds, so I NEVER have Rye bread, to me, what's the point?, if there aren't any Caraway Seeds in it? So - Rye Toast Satisfaction Achieved! I'm Happy! Cinnamon Roll - Satisfaction Not Achieved - But, it's not the El Bambi Cafe's fault. My daughter got her Cinnamon Rolls mixed up with her Sticky Buns. She ordered the Cinnamon Roll thinking what she ordered was a Sticky Bun. Ooops! Sorry Kid! You Lose! Not exactly what she was expecting, but it was still good. Now that she's living in LA, she'll be able to satisfy her Sticky Bun craving - LA has a donut shop, or a bakery on damn near every corner! I think she'll eventually get that Sticky Bun she's been craving! Service at El Bambi Cafe - Excellent. I liked most of the photos and decorations there, but I'm not a kid from the `50's, born in the `50's yes, not a huge fan of that era's music, it's...OK. Stopped here on our way across country and were pleasantly surprised. Sit at the bar and chat up the waitresses who are all fantastic. The hamburgers and bread are all made in house, and should be your first stop on the menu. It's close enough to the interstate to avoid the chains, and very inexpensive. read more

Stopped by this little gem on our drive to Salt Lake recently. Read yelp reviews but never know for sure who wrote them but in this case must say this place was a very pleasant surprise! We had breakfast...the Lee R omelet, filled with mushrooms, black olives, ham, cheese & jalapeños with homemade salsa, was just the right amount of perfect. The flavors were a perfect blend. Homemade salsa truly compliments the flavors. Cottage potatoes (thinly sliced) and sourdough toast made it not only filling but just the right amount of flavor sensations. They serve local grass-fed hamburger and handmade sausage, seasoned with sage. So we tried the eggs & sausage...the sausage was incredible...again with cottage potatoes & toast it made the meal. It was 20 degrees out so we added some hot cocoa and a homemade cinnamon roll. Hot cocoa came topped with the biggest swirl of whipped cream. The cinnamon roll was the size of a small dinner plate, warm and topped with butter. It melted in our mouths with every bite. Definitely not for the health-conscious set but if you're looking for a hearty, home cooked comfort food...this is your place!! The service is impeccable. Our server Michelle was THE sweetest and gave us first timers the scoop on all their dishes. She even brought us a take away box for what was left of our cinnamon roll complete with plastic forks & napkins! Wish we'd taken pics of our meals but we pretty much inhaled everything except the little bit of cinnamon roll we just couldn't finish. Don't judge a book by its cover...driving by this great little cafe you might not think much of its exterior...but make a point of going in....they treat you like family & the food won't disappoint! read more

Great little spot in Beaver UT. Oldies playing on the stereo, waitresses filled us in on local news, and the food was Awesome! Homemade bread french toast, delicious biscuits and gravy (all homemade), and chicken fried steak (local beef!). It's all about the biscuits and gravy (says he) and the French toast (says me). Considering the limited selection in Bryce during the winter time, decided to stop in Beaver for lunch on the way back to SLC after a nice hiking weekend. Something about this place beckoned, and we were soon seated in a booth at a quintessential American diner. Worn seats, black and white photos, and a friendly atmosphere welcomed the weary hikers. The special mushroom swiss burger with onion rings hit the spot. Really appreciated overhearing some of the other tables' conversations, as everyone know the wait staff, and the wait staff knew everyone. read more

Even though this place closes early (2pm), it's well worth the stop if you happen to be in town during the day. For the longest time I thought this place was closed because they close early and haven't changed much since it opened decades ago. Stopped here with family while on a road trip, table for 6 just before closing, they could've been unkind and pushy. Just the opposite, extremely friendly and talkative. Passing through town with no knowledge of local eateries, my husband and I thought we'd give this a try at 7 am. It was one of the few things open.
