After finally finding this place, I must say, food was delicious. Overpriced but good. Service from Amanda, the worse. I was charged $2.50 for two glasses of water. After taking our order, we would have to call out to her, because she would not look in our direction. If I had "3" legs, I'm know I would have gotten better service. Visited Stanton this morning. Was hoping for breakfast, but had lunch. Mom and I both ordered the Hamburger Steak plate, it was delicious; even though my mashed potatoes were not warm. The gravy on the hamburger steak was a little salty, so I just didn't add any extra salt to my veggies; which I normally do. The sweet tea was good. It took a while to get our food due to carry out orders, which we later saw being piled up at the counter. No biggy. We weren't in a hurry. The only thing that will keep me from coming back are the prices on the menu for other food items. I think the prices are geared for oilfield workers in the area. read more

The food is amazing. Service is really good, as well. Radio they have playing in the background could use a little less bass...Personal preference is to actually hear the TV that is on, or just some nice country tunes-which they do play. But it's just got way too much bass and sounds like there is water in the speakers. Food is kind of pricey (for me), with a regular hamburger coming in at $14.95. Our burgers were made to order, however we weren't told that there would be a $2.50 up charge for each grilled item! When I went back in to complain I was told that was their policy. I asked for a $10 refund since we weren't told that our request would cost SOO much extra. The manager refused the request even though she agreed that we should have been told! Not only was the food NOT worth the price we thought we were going to pay, it certainly wasn't worth $10 EXTRA. It was hard finding the place because it didn't have a noticeable sign anywhere. Only by using the navigation was I able to pin point the restaurant. Parking was kind of random, I think you just park where you can. I actually got there a little before 3pm so I decided to take it to go. Inside the restaurant was a nice little cozy space, their wall covered with pictures, plates and just bunch of decors. Great place to stop with friends to eat or just a quick lunch. Now after reading all the reviews I knew I was going to try out the chicken steak. I also got mashed potato and mac&cheese for sides. The food was ready in around 10 min and I was on and about out of that door. ::::FOOD:::: The portions of food were generous, chicken steak actually covered the whole Togo box with mashed potatoes and bread hiding under it. The actual chicken steak it-self was good but not amazing. It certainly is better than the ones you get from stops, cafeteria or the stores but nothing more. To me the steak was crispy but felt alittle over battered with little meat. The gravy on the steak was generic and if I were to get it again I'll probably ask them to leave the gravy on the side. Mashed potatoes and mac was really good, I personally like to eat the mashed potatoes with steak and that was fabuloso. I believe it's a great stop with fair portions of food. It's Stanton. What do you expect? It's decent and will fill you up if you're hungry. It's a Stanton 5 and an anywhere else 3 so there ya go. You get what you get, shut up, eat it and pay the lady. Not bad place to eat the chicken fired plate with corn and mash potatoes with gravy. Needed some salt and pepper and it had alot of crust. So it not near as big as it looks. It's not bad priced. Very good service and nice staff.fast service too. read more

A place that Guy Ferrari would surely go to for a tapping of "Diner, Drive ins, and Dives". We went based on a local's suggestion and it was a great idea! The place was hard to find despite it being such a small town. It was indistinguishable as a restaurant establishment. It looked more like a place that sells storm sheds. The food was deliciously southern. I had the "Chicken Fried Chicken" with green beans and fries. I thought the green beans would be some steamed beans soaked in water, but it was nicely sautéed with some bacon. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, as it should be. The only negative is that they had some generic brand ketchup "House Recipe" and it wasn't as flavorful as Heinz. This is just a small detail though. The chicken was nicely bartered and crispy. The battered flaked off, but the chicken was juicy and good. The gravy was also delicious. One plus is that their honey mustard was great. My colleagues had hamburgers and they said it was very good. The bread was lightly sweeten like Hawaiian bread. A must go if you are in Stanton, Texas. read more

The service is always great, people are as sweet as can be and the food is good but I won't support a business that treats their employees terribly. This used to be a great place to eat. Good food, good customer service. As of the last year it's really gone down hill. Idk if they can't keep good staff or what, but the food isn't the same as it used to be. The staff isn't friendly and when questioned will argue with you instead of making it right. We've been on several occasions and had cold food and extra fees added to our bill. When questioned all we get is arguments instead of apologies and again making it right. Your customers should always be important to you. The prices are very over inflated for the area now, you can definitely go other places and get a cheaper better dining experience. We spoke to several of our local friends that also used to go and said it's just not the same since they put it up for sale. I hope new owners will revamp it! Read all the reviews on this place & happened to be passing by Stanton, decided to stop in & try. We were highly satisfied. First off the people here are so friendly! We ordered appetizers & my hubby told the waitress this was our first time. The guy that was cooking, Sam came out just to say hello. Hubby had the steak & I had the CFS, everything was so good, the creamed corn which I don't normally like was amazing & tasted so fresh & homemade. Steak was tender, veggies good, CFS was so good. Had to try dessert, cheesecake with a choice of a few toppings, I got the standard, strawberry.
