Starlee's Breakfast Plate

Splendid Mom and Pop breakfast spot in a quaint converted home with hardwood floors. The service was very good, and the food was excellent. Intimate ambience: I almost felt like I was at a church function. I've never commented about the powder room, but I just wanted to mention that the facilities were immaculate and there was premium quality paper. Highly recommend.

Good food and fast service by friendly people. Located in an old house so there are not too many tables, but worth checking out.

Excellent food and service. I'm so glad we gave it a try. It was a bit hard to find but well worth it.

But we will be back since the ambiance is a cut above the competition and the food was good too. From the start, the service set the tone. My server had that perfect balance--attentive, helpful, and genuinely engaged without hovering. It made the evening feel relaxed and easy. I started with the Parmesan fries because, honestly, who skips Parmesan fries when they're on the menu? They were crisp, flavorful, and just indulgent enough to feel like the right decision. For the entrée, I ordered the pan-seared salmon, and it did not disappoint. It was cooked to perfection, and the seasoning complemented the fish beautifully. The risotto was creamy and well-prepared, and the green beans had that fresh, crisp texture that tied everything together. The atmosphere added to the experience. Being set inside a beautifully restored historic property gave the place character. It felt like a spot where locals gathered--there was a familiarity in the room that made it feel like the place to see and be seen. And while it didn't hurt to walk in alongside the head of the local hospital (pure coincidence, and no, I wasn't a patient), the restaurant stood on its own merit. If you're driving through Big Spring or staying the night, Settles Grill was well worth the stop. It's a place where you don't "settle" at all--you simply have a very good meal in a setting that feels both welcoming and established.
