Fantastic dinner! Was driving across 180 yesterday and checked yelp for recommendation for place to eat. This place good enough to eat at everyday. We had one plate of brisket with potato salad and beans. Very good - lots of competition for great BBQ these days but this was really good - borderline great. However the jewel was the chicken fried steak. Perfect size - perfect thickness - perfectly cooked. French fries were fresh cut potatoes - added order of onion rings - clearly were also home made and fresh - not frozen. We were driving through on our way to New Mexico and took a chance on this quaint place based on Yelp reviews. So glad we did! They were busy with call in orders and drive thru (which was a good sign) but we were greatly promptly. When you stay in your lane this is a good cafe. The steak fingers where really good. The Mac and cheese was good. The French fries tasted like French fries. My wife ordered the tortilla taco sandwich so shame on her for ordering something out of the ordinary. Our friend who has a sever allergy was served the potato salad against his will. As it comes with the ham plate. I'm not a yankee so I don't order ham. He said the ham smelled and tasted similar to the large intestine of something used in sushi. Don't waste your money. I ordered the chopped brisket sandwich and coleslaw. The chopped brisket didn't have much flavor and was probably a couple of days old. The sandwich bun was old; it fell apart as soon as I picked it up. The coleslaw had bell peppers in it, and all I tasted was salt and vinegar; there was no mayo in it. Worst meal I've had in years. RV parking at the Best Western Hotel two business down on the same side of the street. I parked a 27 foot rv with a tow vehicle with no problem. Don't let the outside of this restaurant put you off. One of the staff dropped this great line you'll only find in West Texas: "I live on the edge," she said "that way I don't take up so much space!"
