I had lunch at Blackland Smokehouse yesterday and the Yelp Reviews are peg on! The staff is super-friendly and helpful. I had their brisket, which was very moist and tender. For a side I had their "Cowboy Corn", which was suggested by two of the folks behind the counter. It is whole kernel corn with green chili peppers and cream cheese... very tasty! Nice surprise in Snyder! Get there early as there was quite a line by 11:15! read more

An excellent gem for such a small community. The Turkey was perfect Smokey & Moist! The sliced beef is 4-3/4 out of 5 compared to Lockhart Brisket. The burnt ends were another treat. The sausage was as good as well, a little dry however the flavor more than made it heavenly. The sauce as most TX sauces one can skip, but not needed, as the meats were not over seasoned, no strange flavors, one bite led to another. The sides were also great. The red potatoes were good and the White Cheddar Mac & Cheese with Chile peppers, well unique & good. The tea was perfect, no bitter taste. Also, Great Service. More food served for the price. Y'all!! I don't usually write reviews, but this place is awesome! My mother and I ate the turkey salad and the 2 meat plate with brisket and ribs, for lunch. We loved it so much, we ordered take out for a family dinner/early Father's Day meal. We got brisket, ribs, turkey and sausage. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, and the food was a hit. Even reheated, it was great. The meat is not dry at all, and it has the best flavor. I'm so excited about this place. I live in Ft Worth, but will definitely be back. I'll recommend Blackland Smokehouse to everyone. Its definitely my favorite place in Snyder and is the best BBQ I've ever had. The food was great. The tea was great. The employees were great. Texas barbecue at its best. The brisket is hands down done right. So tender and flavorful , my mouth is watering as I write about it. My lunch was brisket and smoked turkey plate. With a side of slaw and red potatoes total yum. My wife had a smoked turkey salad. Again a great mix of flavors. They had a nice garnish area with your choice of bread and two great sauces. Maybe I'm jaundiced because I don't care for mesquite smoked meats ( mesquite is for grilling). But I just don't see how this place makes Texas Monthly's Top 50 in Texas (except for the fact that Texas Monthly has been a Yankee magazine for years, and their "BBQ editor" is an idiot who knew nothing about BBQ when he got the job). But this meat, while tender and slightly juicy, had no flavor or pop, with no smoke ring and a dull, colored meat. Could have been cooked on the oven. And why are BBQ joints shy when applying their rub? That's what forms bark and bark adds flavor and texture. The sides were equally unimpressive, with the pinto beans being extremely bland and sorely in need off some seasoning . Sorry, folks. read more

Turkey was excellent. The two types of sausage were spicey and tasty. Pulled pork was great with the sweeter sauce. Ribs were fantastic with the smoke ring on them. The dining area was huge, great for large parties, the staff was very polite and welcoming. We had a short wait, only about 10 minutes to get a 3 meat plate, and the food was fresh. The brisket was good, the ribs were better. The jalapeño cheese sausage was a little underwhelming, but still fine. The macaroni side was amazing, the potato salad was great, the beans were not good, very bland and forgettable. The beans were as good as any home cooked beans I've ever had and the green chili white cheddar mac and cheese (new side dish offering) was out of this world good!
