Noel our waiter was amazing. Suggesting the Pasta Poblano was spot on for me! Very tasty! The hubby ordered the Scallops which were cooked perfectly. Our dessert was the Chocolate Sphere which is flambé table side. The atmosphere is off the chain cool, the food is 5star Michelin perfect and I can without doubt this place cannot be described well enough. Wow!!! What a great find in Midland! We stopped for dinner and had the best experience! The Poblano Pasta with the chicken Cordon Blue was delicious, fish and chips were great and the NY strip steak was perfectly cooked! The star of the show was the 1000 layer cake! OMG! So worth the calories and being stuffed. Our server was great and attentive. Management came by and checked in... we offered that a little drizzle of chocolate on the 1000 layer would take it next level! Comfortable surroundings and the video in the room was enjoyable! So first off I wanna say thank God for something new in Midland. The atmosphere is solid even if the music is a little loud. I really hope to see some live music on their stage in the future. It has a potential to be the place to be. The inside is really beautiful and it stands out because there's nothing like it in the area. Staff and managers are generally attentive and quite friendly. I went here with my family so I got to try a few different dishes -scallops were delicious but the mashed potatoes they were served on were cold. Disappointing for the price point. -Wedge salad was quite good but had too much dressing -The sushi (Santomar roll) seems to be made in a square mold and not traditionally rolled. The filling disbursal was kind of inconsistent and the temperature was a bit strange but the overall flavor was quite nice. I'd definitely try their sushi again. -fish and chips and fries were excellent We ordered one of their 1000 layer cake pieces which was a tasty, but absolute monstrosity. I don't recommend getting it unless you plan to share it with at least four people with healthy appetites. This restaurant is absolutely amazing! The ambiance was on point. We had 11:30am reservations and were seated right away. The staff was welcoming, courteous, and friendly. The food was phenomenal. We started with the rock shrimp appetizer, each had the salmon entree, and finished with the 1000 layer cake for dessert. Alex was a wonderful server and made some great recommendations. Not only was he attentive, he also was very professional. He checked on us often, as did several other staff members that weren't even assigned to our table. 5 stars! Sat up at the bar, 2 bar tenders both very attentive to us. We ate oysters, the salmon and. Roll. Everything was real good. The bathrooms are clean and candle burning smelled so good. Recommend Anniversary dinner, Sat at bar, bartenders vsuper attentive to us and others around the bar. Drinks were espresso Martine (good), miller lite bottle can't go wrong, and a glass of wine. The prices were fine for the Martini and beer but the wine well 5.00 more than at the next fancy place. Now the food the Salmon came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, there was more mashed potatoes here than any other place we go to in midland. The asparagus was done to perfection crisp and done. This salmon dish was perfect. The Ahi tuna roll was not my taste but that's was my falt it had mango and I don't like sweet in my sushi tools. The place looks amazing inside they really transformed this old steak house into a beautiful place to enjoy a great meal. I am giving them a 4.5 stars only because of the wine prices. Not super busy and plenty of employees. The music is perfect not so loud that you can't hear your partner but enough so you don't hear your next table. They brought him the wrong meal and when we said something and tried to get it corrected we got yelled at and basically told we don't know what we're talking about. Waitress even said she thought someone had taken our order and they had to remake. Not a big deal. On the other hand, the drinks were ridiculously overpriced. I had two Old Fashioned's with Woodford. My wife had two dirty martinis with Grey Goose. Each Old Fashioned was $30 and each martini was $40. Even in NY and LA, we've never paid these prices. This dinner was in Midland, TX. We decided to have a business lunch at Santomar today as we have not tried it yet. And I can tell you that we will definitely be back. The service was top tier. The gals working there and the manager Letty were amazing. The atmosphere is also amazing. Something Midland needs more of. They really did an amazing job on the remodel. And the food was VERY good. We tried the cowboy dip and the rock shrimp for apps. Both were great. Especially the shrimp. For our entrees, we got the steak sandwich, the wagyu tacos, the pork chop, and the salmon. Everyone cleaned their plates and was very pleased with their meal. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. read more

The hosts were welcoming and kind (rare to see these days). Looking, around the atmosphere it felt like under the sea with fishes on big screens all around making it seem like an underwater restaurant. It's cozy. Sat in a huge booth ordered our drinks and food. My cocktails came in what seemed like an 8 ounce cup. Not gonna lie, I was a bit disappointed HOWEVER the drinks pack a good punch so came to realize it was perfect size for me. Husband had 2 Modelo beers on tap. I ordered a filet with mashed potatoes and truffle butter (yes the steaks and sides and butter are a la carte so u pay for each). Can get pretty pricey. My husband got the Santomar burger and the truffle fries came with it. Both dishes were amazing. Service was fast and great. We did come early on a Friday around 4ish...but I think we may have to give a night time one a try. Seems like later on in the night they may have a band. That would be nice to listen to. If you are looking for a place where service is au par with the food, classic and classier plus the whole high-end deal, spend a bit more and go to Cowboy Prime (Still my fav place, overall). Went Sunday for our anniversary and unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which honestly just tasted like ranch with a couple tiny pieces of artichoke. I ordered a vodka drink from the bar but it came with gin instead. I sent it back after one sip, and even though the glass was still full when the server took it away, it was never taken off the bill. For dinner, I ordered the filet with mac and cheese--medium and butterflied. The steak came out undercooked (closer to blue than medium) and not butterflied. The mac and cheese was watery and had no flavor. After sending the steak back, it took about 15 minutes to return, but it came back burnt and tasted only of char--and they forgot to bring my mac and cheese back with it. At that point, I asked them to just take it off the bill. Between the poor food quality, lack of attention, and how loud it was (felt more like a bar and grill than a nice restaurant), the whole experience was disappointing--especially for a special occasion. What really stands out is the originality of the menu--this is something new for Midland and it's great to see a restaurant taking creative risks and doing it well. Took my parents for lunch. Our server was so sweet. The filtered water tasted like midland water from the tap. Our appetizer order was wrong. When we sent it back, the correct one never arrived. My dad's steak was so tough he couldn't cut it. And my order was prepared incorrectly. Our server comped the appetizer and packed it to go for us. The food was fine. But spending 150.00 for 3 people for lunch and all of the problems made it super disappointing. Also it's advertised as upscale, but it definitely is not. Music is loud. Great food, Great service. Beautiful facility. One of the quieter atmospheres to have a nice meal in Midland. My husband had fish and chips and my friend had a ribeye. I simply had brussels sprouts and mac & cheese. My husband also had a tuna sushi appetizer of some sort. Everything was delicious. The only complaint I have (and the reason 4 stars instead of 5) is that they charged $4.50 for a beverage and and additional $4.50 for refills! We frequent high-end restaurants. We are foodies. We like to eat well. I guess you could say it's a hobby to try new places. However, I cannot think of one single restaurant that has ever charged me for a refill on coffee or iced tea, especially one with this price point. Been here several times and the first time right when they opened was the best experience. The rock shrimp appetizer is a must. Entree wise the best option is the steak and fries. The truffle cream corn is a hit or miss. Last time I ordered it the corn pieces were hard and not cooked all the way through. They charge $3 for a side of ranch which is pretty lack luster taste wise. Service here is very slow as well. Took almost 20 mins for anyone to acknowledge us after we sat down in the first booth when you walk in. Took the host tracking down a waiter to finally get some water. Most importantly do not order the Santomar Roll. The menu description does NOT match what you are served. It is topped with what tastes like tuna salad with tuna from the can and the inside does not match the description on the menu. Used to love this place but they may have lost a loyal customer after this last experience. read more
