    Caldo de pescado and CARROTS
    Lucero T.

I got a caldo de pescado and camarón. It was ok, tasted to much like Clamato/tomato paste had a bunch of carrots. Wouldn't recommend it. But my husband got the camarones borrachos and he liked them! I also got the flan but it was bland. But over all service was good.

Pieces of fat or menudo meat fished out of my beans.

Not impressed to say the least. We were seated and given chips and salsa. The chips although warm and fresh tasted like old grease but the hot sauce was really good. We waited about 7-10 min for our drink order to be taken and we ordered. We had no silverware and no napkins. Our food came and it was placed in front of us and we had to call the waiter back for silverware. I asked for a side of cabbage and after 5 min I finally had to get up and ask for it. We were never checked on again. The family in front of us was continuously checked on. My Charlotte beans had big pieces of what may have been fat or what looked like menudo meat but tasted like grease. I was very disappointed in not only the food but the lack of attention given. I would not recommend this place.

    Flan.

I have to say that I had high hopes for this place. Being on travel and looking for good Mexican food I'd hoped that this would be the place. The Chili Rellenos were just okay. If they had melted some Cheese on top they would have been better. The chips and salsa were terrible. The chips tasted like old oil and I actually had them take them off the table because they smelled so bad. The manager said that they change the oil in the fryer every morning. I swear they smelled like week old oil. The flan was not creamy at all, and had the texture of rice. I make better flan at home. They've only been open for two weeks, but I know I will never come back to this restaurant when working in Midland. Then, on top of all that, they charged me a dollar for using a credit card! Give me a break!

My husband & I had to salt everything! No flavor. We were very disappointed! We had a shrimp dish & fish tacos. The rice was good, though.

I was worried we wouldn't have any fun date spots but let me tell YOU. This spot was amazing 10/10 will miss this food leaving more than anything. If they catered weddings we'd hire them. We had Alejandro and their manager was soso kind. If you are here as a resident or a visitor this is a MUST. We came back twice in one day like psycho paths. All food was to die for and their staff was phenomenal!! THIS IS A MUST!!

The reason it missed the 5-star mark with me was our waitress was slow to do everything. Even with taking our drink order. Then our food order. The worst was waiting for my final bill. And then she forgot our takeout box for my youngest. I don't know why she didn't have a greater sense of responsiveness with our party of 3, but it was like this the entire duration of our meal on July 25, 2026. It was super frustrating! The other reason I knocked off a star off was because the towel dispenser was depleted in the lone restroom. I had to flag down an employee with drenched hands. THE PROS I called about 20 minutes ahead of time to reserve a table because I knew this brassiere was on the small side. The lady on the phone was courteous and professional. If you have a hot date, I highly recommend reservations particularly in the evening. This seems like that sort of place. When we arrived, I found free street parking a short walk away. We were promptly greeted and seated. To enter the restaurant, you must go inside the Frost Bank tower's lobby, but to exit there is a door just beyond the bar. This place has beautiful, eclectic decor. The bar area was somewhat rounded and has an easygoing, but classy feel to it. THE FOOD The ambiance is what made this a great mother/daughters brunch date. The food sets it apart from the majority of restaurants in this oil industry town. The have East Coast-sourced oysters on the menu! These are far superior to their West Coast counterparts. I would have opted for these for our app if it weren't for my minions, I mean children. Pigs in a Blanket ($15.00) - yet another appetizer my daughters pigged out on that I didn't get to try. And they said they weren't that hungry! Lies all lies. They looked divine with nicely cooked juicy sausage and everything seasoning on the pastries. Avo Toast ($11.50) - my newly-turned teen daughter and I both had our own. I opted for eggs over easy which were cooked nicely. She oddly chose scrambled eggs for her, but she ate pretty much all of it. Smashed Burger ($17) - my youngest had this and said it was excellent. Nice touch with an American flag planted into the top bun. For the umpteenth time she did not share a fry with me. It is what it is. Mocha latte ($5.00) - my youngest's birthday which I will be missing since she'll be visiting her father is coming up so this was a treat for her. I tried it. Quite good after being thoroughly stirred. 1988 Martini ($18) - pricey but oh so good. The olives stuffed with bleu cheese were not bad. I had to try it even though the thought of bleu cheese kind of turned me off. Lol. Will I return? Of course because I have faith it will be 5 stars next time. Look at the other raving reviews! I will say that I was pretty impressed with the food and especially the service but there were still some things that kept me from giving it a perfect score. First off, the service was impeccable. When I walked in, I was greeted right away and sat promptly. My customers that I was taking out arrived a bit later because I was early but I was still provided with water and not bothered. An additional customer came so we had to move tables and it was done promptly and professionally. We were helped without it being overwhelming. Great job! The food was good and well-prepared. I ordered the roasted salmon and it was cooked very well with a crispy skin, the asparagus and brussel sprouts were salted well and cooked just right, the only complaint on the taste is that I wish there was a bit more jalapeño sauce and that it was spicier. It had no kick to it at all. My main overall reason for taking a star off is that the prices are definitely too high compared to the offering. Was the salmon dish good? Yes. But was it $39 without tax and tip good? Not really. Overall, I recommend this place to impress a date or to take a customer where conversation can be had easily with a nice atmosphere.
