It's no surprise there's a review written a few hours ago about how bad the customer service was and here I am to add on to that... the customer service I received was TERRIBLE. my sandwich i ordered was made wrong and when i let one of the staff memebers know as he was was grabbing a sign outside he laughed in my face and continued to walk inside... not to mention they were rushing us out because they wanted to close early..... Went on a saturday morning and the place was packed! Ordered two egg sandwich bagels. they had quite a seclection of bagels including seasonal and some high-end bagel choices. This one is filled with people in the morning... a lot of older people congregate for their morning rituals of grabbing tables and clucking like hens. So it's hard to find an open table. The bagels are fresh, and there's a wide variety of toppings... but they're a bit pricey for a bagel. I wanted mine on a thin bagel but my friend ordered a regular sized bagel. We both reiterated the difference in what we wanted. When we received our bagels both were on thin bagels, no capers on either, cream chees so thin (you could see through to the bagel). Very disappointing. Not going to return! read more

Good service every time I've been, and the speed is also great. They're pretty efficient, I just wish they would enforce their allotted number of customers allowed inside. I have been the customer who waits outside the door because I already see the amount of people inside. Then after I'm in line inside and waiting, I see groups coming in which puts the max number of people over the slotted amount, but no one tells them to wait outside. It's a bit frustrating, and irritating when people behind you in line are not keeping their social distance. read more

I walked into Einstein's just wanting to order a simple bagel with cream cheese. The line was so long I decided to mobile order while there since I thought it would be faster. Well I was wrong. I ordered a simple chocolate chip bagel, toasted with cream cheese. I waited at least 15 minutes and watched as everyone else in the regular line ordered and got their food way before I received mine. I took it upon myself to ask one of the workers if they had my order and of course it had been sitting behind the counter ready for at least 10 minutes. I drove all the way home to uncover this. A chocolate chip bagel, NOT EVEN TOASTED with some half ass spread of cream cheese. So upsetting when I stood there waiting for that whole time to have someone do such a crappy job on one of the simplest things you could order at a bagel shop. Had a sausage egg and cheese breakfast Sandwich on the Asiago cheese bagel. All was good. Girlfriend had a cinnamon sugar bagel and liked it. We both tried the caribou coffee and liked it it smells really good. Even though the place had a lot of people including some children the noise was pretty quiet. Employees seemed happy which is a good sign. The only con I can list currently and the reason for docking a star is they have cups of orange juice in a fridge that seem to be fresh squeezed but upon asking we where told they fill them in the back from concentrate which seems deceptive you should just get an orange juice machine if that's the case. Other than that we will be returning in the future. I enjoyed the vanilla hazelnut coffee it was not something I expected to find. read more

So, I really like the staff here. The only issue I ever have is the incredibly long lines on the weekends. Their bagles are delicious! Terri is THE BOMB! While we waited (a really long time) for our three toasted bagels, we watched her work the register with joy and professionalism. Went here with my husband a couple days ago and my husband asked for extra cream cheese for his bagel and the manager(I believe his name is brad) was assuming my husband was getting angry Bc the cashier/bagel helper didn't give it to us when our stuff was ready. My husband calmly explained that he was not mad and that he just wanted the extra cream cheese since he had paid for it. The manager made a scene in front of everyone and was rude. My favorite place the stop for breakfast on my way to work: the store is clean, the staff is always friendly and efficient, the food is great! During these hard times for businesses I hate to put in a horrible review, but everything I experienced with this store was horrible. I ordered a Mother's Day box and never received the "orange juice" as promised with the order. This is not the first time I have had trouble with this store so I went in person and expressed my concern to the young man taking the order. He looked at me like I had just dropped in from Mars! I took an orange juice and left. Outside I had my dog waiting and I went to him. As I picked up his leash, a young man came out of the store (an employee) and said "don't bother to pick up the trash". There was a large piece of plastic laying on the ground that I barely saw and wouldn't have picked up without hand covering (rubber gloves) because of COVID. I replied, "Isn't that your job" and he said no. The treatment received from that employee and the one in the store was unacceptable, rude and disrespectful. I will now go to the Einstein Bros Bagels in San Carlos. I will also attempt to contact either the private owner or the corporate office. I realize that it is hard to hire people, but there needs to be at least one responsible person on staff at all times! read more

The manager and staff here are so kind, I needed a specific kind of bagel and they offered to put a batch in and bake it for me. Since the lockdown hit, it's been kind of hard for me to get the bagels I need at my local shop, I definitely recommend this location because they have a great supply and staff are very accommodating if you call ahead. read more

Zaaaaaamn, I always forget about this place. Something compelled me to come here after a visit elsewhere wasn't exactly what I needed at the time. Anyway, I snagged a blueberry bagel, toasted with honey almond shmear. Shmear. I just love saying that. Gosh that freaking bagel was divine... it was Crusty & chewy in all the right places! I also ordered a regular coffee, I absolutely love the fact that they have different types of drip coffees in lobby that you can self serve. The vanilla hazelnut was so so tasty! The service is great & prompt despite being busy most of the time. This area just brings several people in because of all the various shops around. Anywhooo... The service here is horrible at Einstein Bros. Bagels in Santee. I went there this morning, there were like four people behind the counter, no one said we'll be right with you or asked if I needed help. Then I'm waiting in line, another customer walks through the door and the lady asks her if she would like to be helped. WTF. I said, no one has helped me, she just looked and proceeded to help the customer that just walked in. Very poor attitude and customer service. I wish I would have read the tons of other reviews about the poor service before going here. I will not return to this place. Spend your money elsewhere, and the management should really read these horrible reviews about the service. You don't want to help people, then don't work in the service industry. I also assist customers for a living and I would be more considerate to my customers and grateful that they picked my establishment instead of the other places they could bring their business. At 10:45 am on 8-27-16 ( SAT) 16 people in line with a slow female order taker at the order location, and was not motivated, not happy and disheveled looking. No welcome greeting from her after a 15 minute wait in line and just a person who clearly didn't like her job, pushy and bossy to say the least....no name tag wearing a maroon shirt. Just a nasty pudgy individual with a sour look on her face. Should be fired or retrained !! The bagel bins were empty with just a few choices. The floor was dirty with debris behind the counter at the payment location and this place was a mess. The male cashier who takes the money and gives the product at the other end of the counter was pleasant and well mannered. Terrible overall experience and I won't go back. i remembered my mom used to take me here all the time for lunch. it used to be sooo good. the taste is still there, but sizing of bagels have gone down. they don't even cover the whole bagel halves in cheese completely for their pizza bagel. they cheap out of the amount of cheese, sauce and pepperoni they put on it now. it's disappointing. also, they even cheap out of giving pickles with the bagel. that's one of the best parts. and last but not least, their customer service sucks. thanks read more

Terrible customer service. Today, I ordered a cheddar jalapeno double toasted with cream cheese. When I got home, i realized it wasn't even toasted. They also never asked what size of drink I wanted and I ended up with a small cup of ice ate when I wanted a large. The worst part was when she told me my balance was $6.07. I had a $20 bill and just because I only gave her the 6 cents instead of 7 cents. She broke it off the $20 bill and ended up giving me a ton of change. Most places are nice enough to let you slide with a penny but not her. Not happy with the customer service! read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. I went in this morning to grab a bagel with cream cheese. I asked the lady at the register if they had the vegan cream cheese because I cannot have dairy. Never see. her before. She gave me a dirty look and sharply said "No, we don't!" I said okay and asked when they would get it in and she VERY RUDELY snapped and me and said, "I don't know, we probably won't" again rolled her eyes. I had mentioned they had it in several other locations and again she RUDELY snapped again and said "I DONT KNOW." I replied with an okay thank you and to have a good day, she rudely, sarcastically said it back. Not okay, I probably won't be coming back if she's working. You just lost business and I will tell family and friends to no longer frequent this location. That's not who you want to see or hear first thing in the morning. Fix your employees attitudes or fire them if they can't provide good customer service especially in the mornings. read more
