Cheese, Egg and Sausage Regular Bagel and Carrot Juice.
    Deyanira P.

I needed a place to go to while I waited for my oil change to be ready, so I went here. I ordered a Carrot Juice and a plain bagel egg, cheese and sausage sandwich. It was honestly really good and I thought the price was reasonable. They also provide salsa on the side that tastes delicious and has a kick to it! Other places sometimes serve salsa but it honestly isn't great and has no taste. This one however I would be proud to eat. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The customer service is top notch. All the ladies working at the time were super sweet. It also seemed like they knew a lot of the customers ordering that morning. The vibes were relaxing. I decided to sit outside because I did have my puppy with me. I did see others had their dogs outside as well. I was there for about an hour and all I can say is that I will be going again.

Cranberry bagel with Strawberry Cream Cheese

Dropped by here in search of their cherry bagel but they may have sold out by the time I got there. Lovely and helpful staff, a wide menu of items for breakfast and lunch, and lots of seating. Ended up with a cranberry bagel along with strawberry cream cheese, and it was very good. Not sure if I tasted the cranberries in the bagel, but I did appreciate that it was an option. Thanks so much!

Wanting a smaller run bagel place, we tried it here. Got the egg, sausage, and cheddar bagel sandwich. Was really good!! The egg was really thick, almost too thick. Seems they use pre beaten or liquid eggs. I personally would prefer just a regular fried egg. But didn't change the flavor, and over all the sandwich and bagel was really good!! The servers were very sweet, and the inside was adorable! Definitely would go and try it!!

Egg, Bacon and Cheese Bagel with Blue Berry cream cheese

I recently had to go into work by 7am and decided to try this place for breakfast. I love to support local and decided to try the local version of Einstein Bagels. And BOY, did they deliver. I was so full after finishing this. I was struggling to finish it by the last few bites. They have a lot of options for bagels and coffee. I wish I took a picture of their menu, but I'm not me when I don't have coffee and esp at 615am. Their blue berry cream cheese was absolutely phenomenal. If I ate a bagel every day, I'd buy their containers of their freshly made cream cheeses. They had so many flavors. There's plenty of parking even when it does get busy in this area. But nowhere near as bad as other areas like North Park. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I noticed they had a lot of customers buying their freshly made bagels by the dozen. Definitely a good place to stop by for some filling breakfast/brunch and some coffee. Especially if you're nearby like the Firestone and hungry. This is a great place to visit to eat and pass the time.

It's difficult to try new places in this economy but I was craving a cheesy bagel so I did. I did think there would be cheese melted on top but I figured maybe I had miscommunicated. To get a blackened bagel with barely any cream cheese on it really frustrates when I tipped 30% out of kindness, and because I work in bagels as well. This is why nobody wants to tip for counter service, please tell your boy to do better.

the crunch and the chew of NY in this bagel!

Golden Bagel is truly the quintessential New York style bagel. I am thrilled to have finally visited. I found it long ago and have driven by looking at it like Olive Oil passing a wig shop. Lol. I got an egg and everything bagel. The women behind the counter couldn't have been more pleasant. If it weren't the fact that I am back on course with my intermittent and low-carb way of eating come Monday, I will be back when I am craving a bagel. Most 'bagel' places do not boil bagels. Even Einstein's steams theirs and that is not going to pass the mustard. Golden Bagel is the real deal. Cheers! We will be back!!

Not one bad thing to say about this place. Its so cute with both indoor and outdoor seating. Alexa, the gal behind the counter, was so sweet. Food came out fast, hot and delicious. Muffins were moist and super yummy. Coffee was simple but good. I will be coming back!

Not gonna lie, this blueberry bagel with strawberry cream wa absolutely DELICIOUS. I couldn't even wait till I got home, I ate this whole bagel on my 20 min drive home from the bagel shop. Bagels were perfectly fluffy, chewy, and full of flavor. I also tried the apple cinnamon bagel with plain cream cheese and while it was tasty, I preferred the blueberry/strawberry combo. I'm biased as that's my go to order every time. The everything bagel was also a hit. I'll be back for sure!

I tend to go on morning walks and I passed by this bagel shop every other day so I finally chose to give it a try. The mornings have been cold lately so when entering it felt super cozy with the smell of freshly baked pastries and brewed coffee. It's a small shop but I was greeted by a polite cashier. After looking through their menu I chose to order a Bacon Egg & Cheese  bagel sandwich, a chicken tamale, and a blue berry muffin. The tamale was a bit on the smaller side based on how much it cost but they do provide a side of home made salsa which was delicious and had a nice spicy kick even, the tamale was good as well. The Muffin was delicious, super flavorful, soft and moist, the BEC bagel sandwich was a bit on the drier side but salsa came in clutch. I would definitely recommend, they also offer reward points at check out and you can subscribe to their birthday club and receive special offers on their items!

Was recommended this restaurant by a coworker and decided to check it out for Saturday brunch. We arrived right at a rush but that's usually how you can tell it'll be worth the wait. The cashier calmly and quickly took everyone's order in line, and when it was my turn she made sure my order was exactly what I wanted - lox bagel, veggie breakfast sandwich, and a blueberry bagel. The dining room was filled with patrons enjoying their meals so we took ours to-go to have a picnic. The food was excellent, I'm not usually a lox person but seeing it is featured I gave it a try. They pile on the cream cheese and salmon, definitely your money's worth. Looking forward to another visit to Gold Coast!

    Green smoothie

The bagels are delicious, but $10 "smoothies" are not worth it in my opinion. They are premade and kept in the fridge, so they are very watered down. If it was labeled as a juice, this would be way more accurate and not misleading. Besides this, bagels and cream cheese tasted great! Area was clean and workers were friendly.

We live pretty close by so was pretty excited to try this! I happened to sign up for their birthday rewards so I got 2 free bagels! I ordered the sourdough and sun dried tomato. Sadly they gave me the wrong bagel (got everything instead of the sun dried tomato :( ) The bagels themselves were really good! Very nice chew and flavor. Just wished I got what I ordered. The service was super friendly and pretty fast.

Do you guys offer any lactose free cream cheeses? Some bagel shops offer coconut-based. Or cashew or soy....

No, it looks like they just have regular cream cheese.

Gelato: believe it was a coffee one Everything has been freaking delicious, fresh, great portions, definitely a spot I visit once a week lol. The crazy calabrese was a little on the salty side but it was still pretty good. Best sandwich so far has been the spicy sicilian. The market is well sorted with lots of interesting items and fair prices. The only thing is their tall cans of craft beer. A lot of them were old or had no date on the bottom of the can and as someone who works in the beer industry let me tell you. Beer does go bad. Not in a you can't drink it kind of way but flavor declines, especially craft beer. Skunky, taste changes, aroma changes, color changes, it's just not great. I picked up a can that was dated May 2025, for craft that is OLD and not good. Not a problem for your average person but I'm just letting y'all know. Nonetheless this place is delicious, the service is great, fast, friendly. The food is overall good, the market is nice and well sorted. What I don't understand are the comments that say I been here so many times but never left a good review, suddenly they have one bad experience over something like not enough lettuce or they ran out of something and leave a bad review. GTFOH! And no I wasn't paid for this review or know anyone from this business, I just hate what yell has become

Over the years that I've been coming here, I've been pleasantly surprised to find that the quality, portion size, and price point has kept pace with inflation and remains the best sandwich option in East County." I'm certainly not the longest-running customer of this spot, but I have been coming to Grove Grinder ever since I moved to the area four years ago. I kept coming back, wrote rave reviews in San Diego food-related social media groups and threads, bugged food influencers about them, and sent many of my friends and family their direction because I was that big of a fan. My husband and I have taken these sandwiches on roadtrips and plane rides, grabbed them in the middle of household chores, and picked them up for each other when the other is too tired or sick to cook. The reason why I'm ultimately knocking this review back and heavily questioning whether I should return has to do with a disappointing experience from my last visit with my husband that we now think was part of a larger pattern. The past couple of times we saw this person at the register, we used my name for the order. This time, though, my husband gave his name instead and the person at the register gave him some attitude about it and asked "You're *really* going with that?" I don't understand what their problem was with his name, but both the person in the front and the staff in the back refused to use it. They called out everyone else's names (and they usually call out mine when I order) and we noticed that our sandwiches were looking skimpy compared to how stacked we know they can come. My husband uses a nickname that might not be the name he was given at birth, but is a name he has used for over 20 years and might as well be his "real," name. We don't want to make assumptions, but most of the staff has always been at least a little cold towards us at best, slightly rude at worst, and even though this experience might seem relatively small to some, it's ultimately the straw that broke the camel's back. We suspect that their distaste for us might be politically motivated. We know it can't be personal because we've been nothing but polite. It sucks, but it seems to be that if they perceive you to not be "their people," your money isn't as green at their establishment, even if it spends all the same. I loved this place and felt lucky that they're close to my house, but feeling disrespected and like the staff are trying to fire us as customers is enough motivation to take our business elsewhere.
