I recently had to go into work by 7am and decided to try this place for breakfast. I love to support local and decided to try the local version of Einstein Bagels. And BOY, did they deliver. I was so full after finishing this. I was struggling to finish it by the last few bites. They have a lot of options for bagels and coffee. I wish I took a picture of their menu, but I'm not me when I don't have coffee and esp at 615am. Their blue berry cream cheese was absolutely phenomenal. If I ate a bagel every day, I'd buy their containers of their freshly made cream cheeses. They had so many flavors. There's plenty of parking even when it does get busy in this area. But nowhere near as bad as other areas like North Park. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I noticed they had a lot of customers buying their freshly made bagels by the dozen. Definitely a good place to stop by for some filling breakfast/brunch and some coffee. Especially if you're nearby like the Firestone and hungry. This is a great place to visit to eat and pass the time. read more

I stopped by for lunch on a sunny day and ordered the Veggie Breakfast Sandwich on an Everything bagel. The menu is huge with tons of options, but since it was my first visit I decided to play it safe. The bagel itself was delicious. It was chewy with great flavor from the everything seasoning. I especially loved the onions in the sandwich, which added a nice savory bite. It did take a little while for our bagels to come out, but everything tasted fresh and warm when it arrived, so the wait felt worth it. Next time I come back, I definitely want to try the cinnamon raisin bagel with one of their spreads. There's seating both inside and outside, and on such a nice day I opted to sit outdoors. It was slightly busy, but the line moved quickly and the staff kept orders moving at a good pace. Overall, a great spot for a casual bagel breakfast or lunch, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu. read more

I wanted to try a fresh bagel place, and Gold Coast Bagel did not disappoint. They had a huge selection of different flavored bagels. I had the blueberry bagel with cream cheese, and it was so soft I melted into every bite. I usually prefer to spread my own cream cheese, but they put a generous amount. The bagel wasn't as blueberry flavored as I would have liked, but you could still taste the blueberry. The staff looked happy to be there and walked us through the different cream cheese flavor options. The seating was open, and they also had tables outside to enjoy the sun. read more

It's difficult to try new places in this economy but I was craving a cheesy bagel so I did. I did think there would be cheese melted on top but I figured maybe I had miscommunicated. To get a blackened bagel with barely any cream cheese on it really frustrates when I tipped 30% out of kindness, and because I work in bagels as well. I needed a place to go to while I waited for my oil change to be ready, so I went here. I ordered a Carrot Juice and a plain bagel egg, cheese and sausage sandwich. It was honestly really good and I thought the price was reasonable. They also provide salsa on the side that tastes delicious and has a kick to it! Other places sometimes serve salsa but it honestly isn't great and has no taste. This one however I would be proud to eat. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The customer service is top notch. All the ladies working at the time were super sweet. It also seemed like they knew a lot of the customers ordering that morning. The vibes were relaxing. I decided to sit outside because I did have my puppy with me. I did see others had their dogs outside as well. Wanting a smaller run bagel place, we tried it here. Got the egg, sausage, and cheddar bagel sandwich. Was really good!! The egg was really thick, almost too thick. Seems they use pre beaten or liquid eggs. I personally would prefer just a regular fried egg. But didn't change the flavor, and over all the sandwich and bagel was really good!! Golden Bagel is truly the quintessential New York style bagel. I am thrilled to have finally visited. I found it long ago and have driven by looking at it like Olive Oil passing a wig shop. Lol. I got an egg and everything bagel. The women behind the counter couldn't have been more pleasant. If it weren't the fact that I am back on course with my intermittent and low-carb way of eating come Monday, I will be back when I am craving a bagel. Most 'bagel' places do not boil bagels. I tend to go on morning walks and I passed by this bagel shop every other day so I finally chose to give it a try. The mornings have been cold lately so when entering it felt super cozy with the smell of freshly baked pastries and brewed coffee. It's a small shop but I was greeted by a polite cashier. After looking through their menu I chose to order a Bacon Egg & Cheese  bagel sandwich, a chicken tamale, and a blue berry muffin. The tamale was a bit on the smaller side based on how much it cost but they do provide a side of home made salsa which was delicious and had a nice spicy kick even, the tamale was good as well. The Muffin was delicious, super flavorful, soft and moist, the BEC bagel sandwich was a bit on the drier side but salsa came in clutch. I would definitely recommend, they also offer reward points at check out and you can subscribe to their birthday club and receive special offers on their items! read more

Not gonna lie, this blueberry bagel with strawberry cream wa absolutely DELICIOUS. I couldn't even wait till I got home, I ate this whole bagel on my 20 min drive home from the bagel shop. Bagels were perfectly fluffy, chewy, and full of flavor. I also tried the apple cinnamon bagel with plain cream cheese and while it was tasty, I preferred the blueberry/strawberry combo. Was recommended this restaurant by a coworker and decided to check it out for Saturday brunch. We arrived right at a rush but that's usually how you can tell it'll be worth the wait. The cashier calmly and quickly took everyone's order in line, and when it was my turn she made sure my order was exactly what I wanted - lox bagel, veggie breakfast sandwich, and a blueberry bagel. The dining room was filled with patrons enjoying their meals so we took ours to-go to have a picnic. The food was excellent, I'm not usually a lox person but seeing it is featured I gave it a try. This place was super cute and I was really hopeful that it would be my new go to place. Ordered an iced Mexican mocha, a breakfast sandwich and a bagel with avocado and light butter. Not only was the bagel hard, almost felt like it was a day old, but they put like maybe three small slices of avocado and smothered it with butter. My husband's sandwich was good but the bread, again, tasted like it had been out for a few days. My iced Mexican mocha was gross; I didn't even take more than a sip before I trashed it. To top it all off, we got FOOD POISONING. I spent the day sick, with stomach aches and vomiting. My husband felt off as well, but only had the stomach aches thank goodness. I do appreciate that the servers were nice, but unfortunately that's not enough to make me come back which is a shame. read more

The place has been going downhill. The price went up for a bagel, but the bagels got smaller. They're always running out of things.. when you bring your prices up, it should be the same quality as before not make them smaller and charge you more. They are truly so kind I saw them interacting with customers that I assume are regulars and they are so kind. This is going to be a bit of a specific review, but I just need to call it out. We came here for breakfast with my sister-in-law and had a delightful time. The staff was friendly, the inside decor of the location was charming and inviting, and the other customers were friendly and understanding when our 3 kids wanted nothing more than to just explore despite our best efforts to keep them calm and in line. I wasn't in the mood for anything beyond tea, but when I saw they had a banana nut muffin that was massive, I had to pick one up. I absolutely loved it. However, it is because I am part of (what I assume is) a minority that loves banana taffy taffy. This muffin tasted so much like that amazing candy. You can tell that they're using artificial banana flavoring to boost the taste of the muffin. I loved it. So much so that I could say it's one of my favorite muffins I've ever had. But, I also will admit that it's a taste that a lot of people will not enjoy. But if you're in my camp, then know that Gold Coast Bagel has a delicious breakfast treat waiting for you. Let me first say that the staff and location are lovely. The people who work there are truly fantastic and friendly, I enjoyed speaking with them and they handled all special requests without issue. My issue is that IMHO......it's not a bagel. It's basically a very bready roll. It's tasty and the cream cheese is good but this is nothing like a proper bagel from a good east coast shop or even an Einstein bagel. It's far too dense and far too thick with more than enough chew but also kinda falls apart especially once you start adding anything into it. They're good people and it's a cute shop but I'm not planning on going there if I have a craving for a bagel like I grew up with. read more

I love "mom and pop" shops and that is what you get with Gold Coast Bagel. There are very nice ladies that work behind the bar and they are on top of things. They work very will in tandem with each other and get things out quickly especially considering how busy it is. My favorite bagel order is an everything bagel, egg, bacon, cheese, and jalapeno cream cheese. I ordered this here and was pleasantly surprised to get cream cheese with fresh jalapenos and eggs that were not pre-made. They have some other baked treats, like huge muffins. My husband and son were both very happy with their orders as well which were variations of what I ordered. The shop has other items for sale like jewelry, tea, and some seriously cute tea cups. Gold Coast Bagel is the closest bagel shop to my office. It is a short walk away and if I ever get a mid-morning break and haven't had breakfast, I head over. My "usual" is a toasted salt bagel with veggie cream cheese. I like Gold Coast because they have salt bagels, unlike many bagel shops. Last week, I had a pumpkin bagel toasted with pumpkin cream cheese... delicious! The bagels are toasted so they are crispy outside with a bit of softness inside. I like that they are not doughy bagels. I haven't tried their coffee or any drinks yet, though I am sure I will sometime soon. Service is typically very fast. I am not usually there in the early morning rush, so unsure if it is always this fast. They seem to have a pretty steady business of people walking in even mid-morning. The shop is pretty cute. They sell some coffee cups and crafts. I think they could do a little better with the display and make it even cuter. Also, note that some seasonal specials are not listed on the menu. I asked about the pumpkin bagel and cream cheese, or would not have known. Remember, ask about seasonal items when you go. I wonder what flavors they will have for the holidays!
