I am absolutely obsessed with this spot! My friends and I stumbled upon this coffee shop after our hike at Cowles Mountain for sunrise. I have to say this is one of the best banana bread lattes I have ever had in San Diego, and I claimed to be quite the connoisseur myself. The latte was perfectly sweet and did indeed taste like liquid banana bread. I will have to go back just to try more of their menu and they're amazing looking and smelling food items. The staff was also very sweet and even though the shop was small it's the perfect spot post hike or if you're in the neighborhood.

I have been here several times and I don't know how I have not written a review yet. I LOVE this place so much. Syrups are house made and coffee are perfect each time. My favorite is the cookie butter latte. The food is delicious from there too. The place is small, only outdoor seating. The service is fast and everyone is always so nice and friendly. I don't go to this place for a while but then I when I do I go through my strong phase of it. It's one of the best coffee shops that checks off all my boxes (as a coffee connoisseur)

The coffee and food here are delicious! I would say the prices on the breakfast burritos are a little high but it does feed two people. There is plenty of parking and the shop looks very clean. Overall, I would recommend this place if you are nearby.

Sooooo yummy and flavorful!! Loved the coffee and especially that it didn't taste burnt. Not sure what kind of a roast they use but it was delicious. Food portions are huge for the price so we had leftovers! Everyone was also so sweet working (even with the long lines). Fortunately you can mobile order so makes it so much easier!

Surprised to find I haven't written a review of Honey Haven yet as it is hands down my favorite local coffee shop! Not a coffee snob but know what I like and have brought & recommended to folks who are and none of us have ever been disappointed. As others mentioned it is more of a walk up because there are only 3 outdoor tables, but I've never had difficulty grabbing one and worth it if you can because the view is Cowles Mountain literally across the street. For a walk up in a strip mall the interior is very cute and cozy and the service is always very warm and friendly. The coffee is fantastic. My favorite lattes are the Iced Bumble (salted caramel & brown sugar) and The Queen hot or iced (w/coconut cream & cinnamon). They have a surprisingly extensive menu that I'm meaning to try more items on as both breakfast & lunch items all sound delicious. Since I frequent very often, I'm mostly grab and go and will often pick up a bakery item. The cinnamon roll is amazing by the way. Not super dense, but very light & flaky almost like a cronut & just tried the tropical danish which had a lilikoi center topped with flakes of toasted coconut, so good. Have tried the French onion soup, also very good and the avocado toast has a super generous portion of avocado. Bonus I've been coming here for a few years now and not once have they ever gotten my order wrong or made anything subpar.

Talk about a good coffee spot! Possibly found a new favorite? Nowadays it's hard to find a coffee spot that makes their own syrups and I belieeeeeeve this place does that? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. We tried a few drinks (the Angel iced latte half sweetened , Mexican cold brew and Cookie Butter latte) all delicious!! Small location, a few tables outside for 2-4 people but best if you grab and go. The menu is extensive enough where most likely anyone can find something they like. The chilaquiles, bruschetta and breakfast burger were all hits. Staff is friendly and they offer military discount, always a plus! Will definitely be back to try more!

I just had coffee and a cookie but the food menu items sound really tasty. I will have to come back and try them. Service was good, the restaurant is small, the parking lot typically has plenty of free spots open, dining options is only outdoors so dress appropriately.

What can I say about David. He always makes my drink beyond amazing! I get excited when I walk in and see his smiling face, knowing my drink will be delicious and his attention to detail for my food order will be done right. Can we also talk about the cooks!! Man, they have got their culinary skills down! I've tried almost the whole menu and everything has been great! Which is rare to find. Posting their haven salad (the person couldn't wait for a pic, so pic is of it half eaten) and a chicken pesto sub sweet potato fries. Also, I'm not an arugula fan but both these dishes have it and make it taste good!

This is a great place to go before or after hiking Cowles Mountain. We went here after our hike and I got an iced coconut vanilla pandan latte and it was delicious and creamy. I would definitely try their food next time because it looked so good. Everyone working was very friendly and made my drink quickly. No indoor seating but there are a couple outdoor tables. I'll be back for sure!

WOW this review is LONG overdue! Honey Haven is hands down one of my favorite coffee shops in San Diego. From the amazing staff to the best lattes (Iced Queen Lattee for the win), this place is my go-to. I always recommend Honey Haven to friends, and I've already converted at least six people who now call it their favorite coffee spot too. The food is just as good as the drinks. They serve all-day breakfast, sandwiches, and their potato rolled tacos (drool). I've never had anything here that I wouldn't happily order again. The prices are super reasonable, and the vibe is cozy and cute, right across from Cowles Mountain. They've got pastries, plenty of gluten-free options, and all the milk choices -- regular, oat, almond, and coconut. Hallelujah! I can't stand when coffee shops only have one or two milk options. My go-to order: an Iced Queen Lattee, sub almond milk, and add coconut cold foam. You can thank me later! I almost didn't want to write this because I don't want it to get too crazy busy, but Honey Haven absolutely deserves all the hype and love.

Fall Haven Latte

Delicious handcrafted coffee drinks and wholesome breakfast and lunch options. Everything I've tried here has been phenomenal. I opted for the seasonal Fall Haven Latte on my last visit and it tasted exactly like pumpkin pie with a thick, creamy consistency and just the right amount of sweetness. It gets busy but it's worth the wait!

"The Philly": A delicious cheesesteak sandwich with fries, $15 and worth every penny

I suspect that Honey Haven Coffee in San Carlos at Golfcrest Drive and Navajo is mostly known for its breakfast and coffees. However, today, I discovered that it should be a Philly cheesesteak mecca for San Diego. The ambience, cute. Service, spot on, impeccable, amazing. Always busy, constant stream of customers. This was my first time eating there after driving by a thousand times, I'm sure. Even though it was breakfast time, I decided to avail myself of their Philly cheesesteak sandwich, complete with melted cheese, onions, mushrooms on a hoagie roll. I wasn't disappointed. The beef was perfectly cooked, hot and delicious, slightly crispy around the edges as it should be, the cheese melted... The picture will say 1000 words! Honey Haven for breakfast and definitely for lunch sandwiches. Try it out.

Heading to San Diego Elks for a seminar and needed coffee!! Found Honey Haven and what a find! Menu is amazing I went with the carne asada breakfast burro and honey latte. First coffee shop I have found with coconut sugar so delicious and better for us too! I live in Esco but will definitely make the drive again. My cashier Molly was friendly and patient as I stared open mouthed at all food selections. It is in a strip mall so hey can't be too picky on ambiance. Tables are wonky but the music is good and it's San Diego so always beautiful!!

A few bites into my half, I noticed mold on the side of my sandwich. By that point, she had already eaten about half of hers. I called immediately. After several holds and back-and-forth, I was told they couldn't refund a single item, and that the owner said I could drive back to pick up cash. I explained I was at work and moving to Temecula in two days. I wasn't rude, I was patient through every hold. I've worked in food service. If this ever happened where I worked, we would have refunded the entire order and done whatever it took to make it simple for the customer. The owner offered to drive the cash to my house, which I declined, I didn't want a stranger at my door, and honestly, it wasn't about the money. My pregnant wife ate moldy food. Not once did anyone ask if she was okay or acknowledge that this was a health concern. I never received a refund. I just expected basic accountability, apparently that was too much to ask.

I went with a godfather sandwich and the first thing I noticed is that the sandwich is absolutely stuffed. They are not shy about putting meat in here which I appreciate as sometimes sandwich spots give a less than desirable amount. I was also surprised at how good the Dutch crunch I chose tasted (it had a slight chew but was also fluffy at the same time). It definitely wasn't the cheapest sandwich (after tax it was around 19 bucks) but based on the ingredients and amount of meat I'd say it's fair value!
