Supply chain needs work. I came here today expecting to have a seamless experience. I had ordered the last of a bagel, and it turns out the same bagel was over-committed 5 times in the time I was standing there. It also took them 30 minutes to prepare a regular bagel that came out cold when ordered toasted. I understand that when an establishment is packed that wait times are a bit longer, however if you look at it from an operational perspective things aren't moving the way they should. I think upper management needs to support their team better and put some better processes in place that way the staff isn't overwhelmed and making errors that effect not only the quality of the food being served but also the overall experience for the customer. Went here on Sunday for a little morning snack with the bf. Employees are friendly and quick! We both ordered the turkey sausage cheddar bagel sammich and it was decently good. The overall look of the sammich was very bland and boring, though. I mean, I generally wasn't expecting much..but just something that can look better than what I could whip up at home lol. Finally! I had a chance to try out Einstein Bagels! I was happy to see one in Pasadena area. I always wanted to stop by the one along route 66 (foothill blvd.) but that one closed. They had wide range or flavored bagels and menu choices. I had the garlic bagel with tuna sandwich, and my hubby got the chorizo sandwich. The sandwich menu was a little pricey for what you get. I really liked my garlic bagel but needed more flavor on the tuna sandwich. Hubby's chorizo was not as good he thought it would be. This place gets three stars simply because I've become an east coast bagel snob. After numerous trips to New York it's just true, everything about New York bagels is better. So three stars is basically the best Einstein can get. With that said this location has always been very quick, friendly, and never messed up an order. Long line in the morning when I went but I expected it as it is one of the only bagel places in town-the line was cramped in the small space but they hustled through getting the orders and payment from folks so the line was at least semi moving while the rest of the team got the order ready and called out names for pick up. Either the cashier or the team must have went too fast when keeping up because they made my order wrong and I had to ask them to fix it-they did as quick as they could and let me keep the incorrect order but overall the experience and bagels was only mediocre and an almost 30 minute wait for two bagels extra toasted (which they weren't-one with butter the other with cream cheese). Air baked bagels just don't compare to boiled then baked bagels-even without mistakes-they are smaller, denser, and chewier and don't have the height, air, or crispy outside layer that I crave in a bagel. I have very mixed feelings about this place. Finding parking was a breeze. Since the parking is being monitored by an attendant, you don't have stragglers parking in this lot. Although, you need to remember to validate your parking. There is not much sitting room at Einstein's but since they are conjoined with Peet's coffee, I think you can just sit on the other side although I do not know whether this is really permitted or not. I ordered a smear everything bagel toasted. I felt as though the service was not good. From the moment I ordered, the cashier was being rather unfriendly to me. The employees were just talking amongst themselves and when my bagel was ready, I had to retrieve it on the opposite side of the cashier instead of just handing it to me. I've never been to an Einstein bagel shop in fact I'm unaware if this is a chain or single store but I wanted brekkie on Thanksgiving Day morning and while most if not all if my fav coffee shops were closed I knew I could count on a bagel shop to be open. We made our way to Einstein wearing our turkey hats having just finished a turkey trot race downtown LA. I ordered the $3.99 bagel and a coffee combo and my boyfriend ordered a bagel sandwich, by the time we had made it to the cashier, Jackie (owner) compted our morning brekkie! How sweet of her, and just because of our amazingly adorable turkey hats. I will surely return again and I forgot to ask for cucumbers on my honey whole wheat bagel lightly toasted with reduced fat cream cheese but if they have these, I'll continue to be a happy camper. Don't go. They're rude and incapable. It's like they've just totally given up. For the sheer number of employees behind the counter, it's incredible they still manage to take forever to complete a simple order. It's also kind of gross in there. So 10 minutes later (yep, 10 minutes for one bagel with cream cheese), I get my bagel, and no salsa. I ask person that handed me the bagel (there were like 12 employees packed back there) about the salsa and she looked at me like I was crazy. She said 'Like cholula??' I said nope, I confirmed it with two of you already and she called back to the massive group of bagel toasters and they all started looking at each other and discussing it. The apple bacon and egg sandwich was tasty. The bagel was fresh so I have to break my jaw to chew it. I had high hopes for this place and was looking forward to this being my local 'go to' for bagels. Sadly my experience at the Pasadena branch (Lake Avenue) was not great. I had a Groupon voucher and on two visits have been told that their register was not working! What?! Interesting though that on my second visit, initially when I arrived the assistant smiled and asked if she can help me. The second I mentioned having a voucher, she said the register wasn't working. It doesn't take that long, and they were slicing by hand for people who were getting bagels for there, rather to go. After I told her I would wait, she was like "sorry, we're slicing bagels and it will take 15 minutes" to the person in line after me, trying to get them angry at me and guilt tripping or something like that. It took them less than 3 minutes to cut the bagels, and someone else did the latter half anyways and she went back to the counter. I don't like complaining about service workers, but I was flat-out lied to, guilt tripped, and had an attempt to get the next customers angry at me for a task that took less time than most of the people being served in house. Ordered a bakers dozen with schmears $15.49 and large coffee for $15.99. Service was relatively fast, bagels were warm, and nice cream cheese selection (including interesting flavors like salmon, strawberry, blueberry, maple), coffee was a miss. We were bringing to a party and while they packed us single serving creamers they only gave a few cups and no sugars, sweeteners, of stirrers. I'd definitely recommend starbucks in terms of coffee quality and accessories (although for starbucks you have to wait since they fresh brew vs here they get from their existing batch). Has common decency died? Has service at restaurants vanished? I went to Einstein Bros Bagels on Lake Ave to buy a dozen bagels. I was second in line and had to wait over 20 minutes. Although 6 or 7 people were working, no one would take any orders. Finally, when the worker took my order, I asked for the bagels to be cut in half. She became annoyed. I waited another 20 minutes, and the bagels were still not sliced. When I asked the manager or the owner about my order, he wouldn't listen and just said wait in line.
