Tastees is a donut (and apparently burger & tacos) spot off Fair Oaks Ave in Pasadena. Upon walking in, you'll see that it appears to be an average donut shop. Well it's not!! They serve burgers, tacos and other breakfast items here. I was intrigued by "tacos" at a donut shop so I had to try it myself!! I got 2 asada tacos and 2 chocolate donuts. The asada tacos were pretty good and the salsa was legit!! The chocolate donut was (of course) delicious!! I've yet to try the other breakfast items here. Top tier local donut shop! Had seen the great reviews for this place but had avoided it because im not the biggest fan of big crowds. Glad that I finally decided to stop by. Coworker and I stopped by before work at around 7am, by that time it was already packed with a line out the door! The vibes are definitely local favorite mom and pop type place. You can tell people come here everyday and have been doing so for years; the interaction between employees and guests is great here it's like everybody knows each other. Staff is very very efficient for how busy they are and they are also very kind! Unfortunately they don't take tips because I know their jar would be overflowing! We ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and donuts. The bacon breakfast burrito is only $9 which is a freakin steal in today's economy, especially because they pack it!!! I came back the next day for the same thing ngl.... As for the donuts, they were the perfect fluffy, pillowy, moist texture with the perfect amount of sweetness! Great donuts, great dough, they put a lot of topping, and large variety donuts. And the donuts are huge!! The dough does not get stale. donuts still good 2 to 3 days later, which is rare in a lot of donuts. We got 6 for 10 bucks, which can sound like a lot, but they are big donuts, you could share one with two people. The service is outstanding, super nice. Have been back to Tastees a few times recently and it's consistently good. Recommend the Chorizo breakfast burrito. Never had chorizo before! You can get it with either rice and beans or potatoes. Both are great, but I do give a slight edge to the rice and beans because it's a more authentic flavor combo. read more

I love Tastees !!! Have been going since 2012 or 2013 , i happened to find it , when going to the Vons that use to be there ( or housing dept. ) next to supermarket. I always get the cheeseburger and fries. And in the last 3 yrs or so , i may add a grilled cheese. I have yet to try a breakfast burrito , but want to soon. And i did notice tonite , the cheeseburger was about 6.99 !!! Of course prices go up , every year. But i was use to it , when they were 2.99 !!! But they are yum , and doughnuts are good too. This is a gem! It's a Mom and pop place serving up not only delicious donuts but scrumptious burgers as well. I've never come and there not be customers inside or lined up to order. The sign near the entrance requests you mind each customer's 6ft of social distancing as well as stay masked up otherwise you will not receive service and will be removed from the store. It's pretty busy in the morning with traffic from people grabbing food before work. On that note be prepared to wait a little, but it's worth the wait. I ordered an egg sandwhich and egg bagel and according to the prices they were less than $5 each but when it was time to pay they charged me $18 dollars for those two things I was shocked because that's so expensive for two basic breakfast sandwiches. This little neighborhood donut shop is a hidden gem. The donuts are always fresh and fluffy and the service is awesome. Whenever I show up with donuts at work, people flock to my office/meetings. I gave their donuts as a take-away thank you gift for a party and received tons of calls asking where I got the donuts from. Everyone loves them! My beloved Tastees, you've always come in clutch for me so I must return the favor! I've been coming here for 3 years now and the affordability and quality remain top-notch. This place is super close to my house, so I stroll over before noon (they stop serving breakfast at 12pm) to grab a hearty bacon breakfast burrito. I love that this a local mom-and-pop establishment and the environment has always been warm and friendly. My favorite is the maple bar, but all of the flavors I've tasted have impressed me. I like that the dough is sooo perfect and soft and heavenly. Back to the bacon breakfast burrito--something about the tortilla makes it so delicious and the ratio of hashbrown to egg to bacon to cheese is SO on-point. My friends recommended this place to me for their breakfast burritos and donuts. I was highly disappointed with both. In Pasadena you have lucky boy and Tops as well as a plethora of other options. I was hoping they could be that good. They where not. I use a standard glaze donut has my measuring stick. While these donuts where incredibly soft, the flavor was off for some reason.
