My coffee was great and the bagels were so good especially the cheese and jalapeño one! My boyfriend did not like his coffee too much and we had to add some milk but it was not bad either. Next time we will just try a different coffee instead. The service was great and not long. There was somewhere to sit while you wait and the business was clean. This was june 2024:)

I rarely come to this Einstein Bagels in Encinitas. Looks like it needs an update. Love the location, it was clean and friendly. I was greeted immediately. I ordered my Farm house Bagel sandwich and it was delicious. Staff, thanked me for coming. If you haven't stopped by, give it some love!! Bagels and everything was fresh

Geesh..I don't know. I was taken aback when my husband picked up a bakers dozen for $20. When we opened it the bagels were TINY. 3.5 inches in diameter to be exact. Is that the going size now? Inflation..deflation? Weighed them too, roughly 3.3 ounces. Personally I don't think it's right to customers and we won't be back.

Granted, there was incentive to give a good review (see picture) BUT I genuinely would give 5 stars. The people were incredibly kind and the bagel was the same consistent Einstein's bagel you can get anywhere. I don't really get why the reviews are so low.

Geniuses.

I ordered hummus on mine for $2 more and they put about half a spoonful on both slices of my bagel. Pretty disappointed about that:(

A Kaiser roll with a hole down the middle is not a bagel. Shouldn't take an Einstein to figure this out.

So happy when I visited here! Very clean, not a long wait and they had my favorite bagel available!

I am in love with this place: my only problem is that when i visit SD i go there more often than i…read moreshould in a short period so i experience the same menu and given that I'm a vegetarian it's extra limited but i never regret it nonetheless lol Staff is kind , and relaxed Food is locally sourced Music vibes are all over the place but when they play african music i love it This food does heal (chef goal) ; it's an absolute joy to dig into these salads and desserts! Follow me for more on BayBitesNSips on Tiktok I'm also a bay area artist and I've just started selling online on Etsy: MLEcolorshop ; if you visit me or tell a friend who likes jewelry, I would appreciate it so much Everything I make is handmade with Polymer Clay and there is no single piece alike. https://www.etsy.com/shop/MLEcolorshop

I am very confused at the hype and reviews for this restaurant. It's an okay brunch spot at best…read more The attention for this place is driven by dishes catered towards Instagram and eating with your eyes, not the actual experience of eating with your hands and mouth. It's tough to get a table for a weekend noon. I booked our reservation a few weeks ahead of time. Parking is either near the train tracks across the street or on the curb. We got the egg dish and salad bowl. The yogurt for the eggs was deliciously spiced; dipping in the toasted bread into the gooey poached egg, creamy yogurt, and herbs was delicious! My issue with this dish were the herbs that were too large. Was I expected to stick a big piece of herb on my toast? The dish is saucy with the chili oil so my clothes were dirty with the oil covered herbs. Chop the herbs smaller for practicality! Another dish suffered from the execution. We got the bowl which I thought was going to be a grain bowl. Rather, it was a ridiculously-sized salad--as much leaves as a pack from the grocery store! There were toppings within like slices of avocado, pieces of orange, farro, and nuts. I felt like I was trying to treasure hunt to look for these pieces. The salad was comically oversized. It was dressed fine but suffered from the portion size. You could see this theme with the French toast too where you get 1/3 of a baked bread. I'm honestly confused by this chef who has amazing experience. Why do you construct dishes that are difficult and impractical to eat? Less is more. These dishes need extensive edits. How this place got Bib Gourmand is honestly surprising to me.

Stopped by for a Mother's Day breakfast with a large group and everything turned out great! We got…read morethere early on Saturday morning and we were seated as soon as at least 8 of our guests were present. They were so kind and accommodating. We got seated near the restrooms and it felt like we had our own private area, it was amazing. It's not easy taking orders for a group of 10+ but the waitress was fantastic. We requested separate checks and she did a great job of taking everyone's order correctly and checking in on us. There were two other gentleman that were also very attentive and helpful. My grandmother ordered a plate with salmon and it was a bit too salty for her taste buds and one of the gentleman (not sure if he was a cook) made sure to take care of that. He gave her some recommendations of different dishes and brought her out a new plate. We really appreciated the time and effort it took to make sure our entire group was taken care of. This was my first time here and I will definitely be coming back. Also loved their chai latte it was so yummy! They have seating inside and outside. It is located in a shopping center with lots of other businesses so there is a shares parking lot.

Service was on the slow side for two people, although we watched a large table get served much faster. I was a bit disappointed on this visit versus the previous years. It feels like both the service and the quality of service is slipping. They used to have fresh squeezed OJ and it turned out to be more of a carton Tropicana style product now. Definitely not the same. On a brighter note, they do have fresh roasted coffee and are dog friendly., #TheCottage #Encinitas #FreshBrewedCoffee #NoFreshSqueezedJuice

Been here 3 -5 times in the past 2 months. Today was the topper though. They gave us menus when we walked in and despite 3 different employees walking right by, over a 10 minute period, none of them acknowledged us. Not even the server serving the table right next to us. So I get up and walk to the register where 3 employees are hovering around the front counter, nobody really doing anything that seemed urgent. I let them know we've been sitting and waiting for a good 10 min plus for someone to take our order. Gal at counter took my drink order and says someone will take my order when they bring my cappuccinos. Great, I guess we'll be waiting another 5 or so minutes to place our order. Once they took our order, food came out in a reasonable time but that was it. No checking back with us or any of the standard sit-down restaurant service. I even had to go up to register to grab my check. It's a shame a restaurant with better than average food can't perform average customer service. Pastries are solid 4.5 stars but I am giving 2 stars to see if we get the attention of the owners/management. PS. There was lipstick on my coffee cup too.
