spicy nashville benedict
Mellisa Jule N.

We made reservations in advance for a group of 7 for my sister's birthday as this place does tend to get busy. I recommend definitely calling ahead and booking a reservation for larger parties. We went here on a Sunday at around 1:00pm and the place was packed and had a wait time. I enjoyed the food and thought it was amazing and well done. I thought the salad that went along with the benedict was so good. Overall, I really enjoyed getting breakfast here. They do happen to serve water on a vase which I thought was odd. Also just a note: they do automatically apply a gratuity amount for parties larger than 6+. Oh and make sure to tell them its your birthday! If you brought a cake they bring it out to you after eating your main dishes and they do a nice celebration for you :)

Kunafa Pancakes

While captioning my photos, my phone corrected Kunafa to "Lunacy". And maybe it had a point: how else would you describe the massive stacks of pancakes coated with crunchy Kunafa bits and served with mountains of ice cream and whipped cream on the side?? In actuality, you'd be crazy NOT to order it and love it. Personally I loved the Biscoff Pancakes even more. Unfortunately had to share with the table otherwise I would have ripped through the entire gloriously gooey mess myself. Let's back track to the savories. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the egg dishes, but I LOVED my Cilbir with Spicy Potatoes. While the rest of the menu is some variation of a breakfast food you've had before, but this item felt particularly unique and so perfectly cooked that I keep dreaming about it. Can we talk about the presentation? You can't help looking at these dishes and not feel EXCITED. From the colors, arrangement, and cutting of each item, ecstatically eggtastic is how you'll feel with whatever you order here. The servers will treat you with as much attention and respect as they do their dishes. Brunch is gonna be crazy so you gotta be a little patient, but I was very happy with the way we were seated, the amount of space we had, and how quickly our food came out. They also were willing to serve savories first, then sweets after. Even with such a big order, everyone at our table got their plates in close enough times, and none of it had gone cold. I'll definitely have to come back here every time I'm near Toronto!

I usually go to Eggstatic in Leaside, but decided to check out their Mississauga location. The portions are huge, and the food actually tastes better than the original location! Servers were friendly and attentive, and the restaurant space is much larger here in Mississauga! I would recommend making a reservation in advance.

chicken crisp Benedict

The food was ok , service was none existent. We spent 3 1/2 hours at brunch. We're never asked if we wanted more coffee or if we wanted more water or if there was anything else that we wanted to add to our bill. It's rundown and it smells like mold inside the restaurant. The plates are of a generous portion, but honestly keep your money go elsewhere. I would not recommend this place at all. Too bad because I was here many years ago, and I really loved it but this time around it must've changed ownership because I would not recommend this at all I took the crispy chicken Benedict. The grapes had not been washed, but just put into the plate. The salad had too much dressing. The hollandaise was flavourless and the chicken was way too dry.

Located in the same plaza as Union Social Eatery and there are plenty of parking spaces. The interior design is simple, with table and booth seatings. They also have a patio for great days. One wall is white decor of kitchen items. Pretty cool. Service was decent. And the food came out in good timing. I had the omelette dish and one thing that stood out right away is the disappointing, old grapes from like 2 weeks ago!!! The menu says "fruits" but I got 5 green grapes that were not edible!!! So sad. I mean, fruits don't cost that much. Their home fries were standard and good. The omelette size is smaller than I anticipated (from other brunch place). However, it was packed with all the veggies!! Yum. The salad was also not the freshest. The little beef sausages were quite interesting and had good flavour. Never had those before. Depending on what you order, it might be a hit and miss. We were a table of four and I saw other great dishes. Would I go back? No. There are other brunch places to try that uses fresh ingredients.

Pistachio pancake...massive!

This is a hot spot! Highly recommend making a reservation before coming, even on a weekday. Packed and bustling with vibrant dishes everywhere. Servings are hefty (especially the size of the pancakes!!), and ideal for sharing around the table.

Cilbir and spicy potatoes

My family and I had brunch here, I wasn't sure what to expect at first. After looking at the menu there were a lot of interesting and fusion breakfast items that caught my eye. Ultimately I got the cilbir and spicy potatoes. The potatoes were nice and crispy while the labneh that surrounds the plate packed a nice punch mixed with the spices. The servers were nice and attentive, and the place was bustling with people! My family and I shared a pistachio pancake. It was filled with pistachios! And the pancake was not too sweet - which is great. Overall I'd come back just to try other menu items. Be sure to make reservations a week in advance!

Chicken and waffles

This is definitely on the top of my favourite brunch places now. The food was just amazing! I tried the hummus dip with pita bread and loved how fresh and warm the bread was. The chicken and waffles was a good amount of spice with sweet syrup on the side. The service here was good too, we were a large group so they quickly helped us expand our table. The atmosphere overall was great, nicely decorated restaurant with lots of tables and space.

This location is nice with space and seating. The food is good but it's not worth the chaos of the service. The servers are nice but they were all so lost and confused. The restaurant owner needs to invest in hiring more people and way better training. We were a table of 6, they brought one person's pancake first but we were all waiting to eat together. 15 minutes later and her whipped cream and ice cream was melting and no one else had food. We had to ask them to put it in the fridge and after about 1 hour of waiting the other food came out. I think it would greatly benefit them to hire another cook because there's no reason to wait 1 hour for *decent* food. I would probably not come here again. The bill for 6 of us was way too much for the experience (about $200 including tip)--I was full but one person didn't even eat their omelet because she didn't like it and she said there was no salt in it. My food came another 10 minutes after everyone and they gave a biscoff cheese cake slice on the house as an apology. The cheesecake was good but I'd have just preferred not to pay for my meal lol. Note: This is my second time at eggstatic but first time at this location. The downtown Toronto location was also wayyyyy too slow for their service. Decent food but simply not worth the wait at all.

Nashville hot chicken eggs Benedict

Absolutely snag a reservation if you know your arrival time or have a rough idea of when you'll be able to make it down, otherwise you'll be waiting on a long line no matter the time or weather. I made a reservation for 1pm and was seated immediately upon arrival which was roughly 15 min before my reservation time. There's a cute corner for praying which I seriously appreciated and there's a lone sink outside the bathroom if you just need to wash your hands before or after your meal (or make wudu to pray). We came straight from the airport and really appreciated that they were willing to hold our luggage in the corner of the restaurant for us. The portion sizes are spectacular, best shared with two or three other people. The savory food was excellent. The Nashville fried chicken Benedict and Cilbir were packed with flavor. I'm not a salad girlie but whatever the dressing they put on the salad was delicious and very flavorful. The Cilbir had way too much oil/butter to the point the bottom of the plate was soup but they did not skimp at all on the potatoes. I wish there was a little more of the garlic yogurt sauce but otherwise delicious and impossible to finish solo. Nashville hot chicken Benedict had the perfect poached, runny egg and great flavor in the hollandaise and the chicken itself. The pistachio pancakes however were not it. It tasted like sawdust made into pancake batter and cooked. Even the pistachio sauce wasn't enough to mask the dry, tackiness of the pancakes. Do not waste stomach space on the pancakes and go for any of the main savory dishes. Same advice about the coffees and juice based drinks. I didn't try the milkshakes so can't comment on that. My friend tried the blueberry lemonade at their sister restaurant (backyard bbq) and it tasted like soapy water with a pinch of blueberry syrup. So just stick to water. Would be back to try more if I'm back in Toronto!

Scotch eggs

Extremely popular brunch restaurant. As such, it was packed and on the weekend. About 30-45 min wait. All the food looks amazing. With the extensive menu you'll likely have a hard time choosing. However, the food didn't quite match how it looked. Everything was just underwhelming. It wasn't bad but everything verged on the border of bland. The food was reminiscent of pre-made frozen meals which were warmed up and lost flavour along the way. Though on paper it seemed like there was everything to be great, the experience was just mediocre. It's also a bit pricy for what it was. Most brunch items are in the $20 range.

Came here for a weekday brunch with some friends. I heard great things about this place so was excited to check it out for the first time. I ordered the Kafta croissant, which came with home fries and an arugula salad, and I had an Iced Americano to drink. Overall, the food was flavourful and was a nice change to the standard breakfast food you would get at other brunch places. I would definitely come back to try the dessert pancakes! The service is where my visit really went south. When my friend and I got there, there was no host in sight and we were standing there for about 15 minutes before someone came by to help us out. Even if they were short staffed or busy, some acknowledgement would have gone a long way. After we placed our orders, it took 30 minutes for our food to come out. The table that was seated after us even got their food before us. We also had to flag a server down twice just to get some ketchup and hot sauce. Really wish the service improves because I really enjoyed the food!

Spicy Nashville eggs Benedict

Crispy Nashville style chicken breast ($19.99) This Middle Eastern fusion breakfast and brunch spot was speggtacular! This is the first Middle Eastern breakfast and brunch I have visited with many different choices ranging from traditional Western options, like eggs benedict, to a Middle Eastern fusion of breakfast, like shakshuka and lahm ajin. The interior is very clean and decorated, perfect for larger parties. It may get busy on weekends, so call for a reservation! The Spicy Nashville Benedict is one of their most popular dishes, which come with delicious potatoes and a spicy cajun hollandaise sauce. I am not usually a big fan of breakfasts, but Eggstatic is definitely a place I would recommend.

Before I came here, all of my coworkers were HYPING this place. Curious I went on a Friday! And then promptly walked back to the car because it was THAT busy. I decided to try this place again the next week after on a Monday at lunch, and it was much, much better. So tip: don't come here on a Friday lunch. It's a pretty small area with a few tables to dine in. Usually these are taken by fancy work people so go in with the expectation that you might have to bring your food back to the office and make those coworkers j e a l o u s. Upon entering, there's two areas to wait; one for salads and the other to sandwiches. I ordered the chicken avocado wrap and my boyfriend ordered the seared tuna sandwich (something fancy like that). They come with a salad and/or soup too so you can be EXTRA fancy and pompous when ordering your nice, healthy lunch. For the both of us with drinks, it came up to around $35 (goodbye money) and we got our food pretty quickly. I do have to say that the food is AMAZING! I don't know how they do it but there's legit magic in the food they make. The chicken avocado was great but I would recommended that tender seared tuna if you are feeling boujee enough. So yeah, 10/10 would recommend if you're feeling boujee health nutty, but be wary of coming there on a Friday and the week before you get paid!

Tips: - The porchetta sandwich is divine!…read more- Biggies is beside Pizza Pizza and a few doors down from Kung Fu Tea. A recent Yelp elite experience put Biggies Gourmet Foods on my radar. For years, I have visited this plaza that has Biggies, but never noticed it until now. Biggies used to be called Porchetta Roll. I dropped by after work on a Wednesday. It was roughly 2:30 pm. This eatery is roughly a ten-minute drive from my workplace. It's in a plaza that I visit regularly. It has Cora, Kung Fu Tea, and Lezzet Shawarma that I like. It's easier to look for Pizza Pizza. Next to the orange sign is Biggies. I found an available parking spot fairly close to Biggies. I backed into the spot and walked over to the eatery. A female customer was ahead of me. She picked up an order and left. The nice man behind the counter cheerfully said hi. I reciprocated. He asked me what I'd like. I had looked at the list of sandwiches and mini meals before dropping by. I had the porchetta sandwich on my mind. After all, if it was a part of the original name, it must be good, right? He went ahead and made my sandwich. I saw him lightly toast what looked like a kaiser bun. The place smelled good. The porchetta is roasted for a good twelve hours. It has garlic aioli, mustard, sautéed onions, and arugula. He saw me looking at the Biggies cap. I loved it so much with the cute bear logo. I let him know that I'd be back for it and the meatball sandwich. The photo alone of this sandwich made me salivate hard. He handed me my sandwich in a paper bag. I thanked him and wished him a great day. He hoped that I'd like the sandwich. I left and headed to my car. I was still stuffed from lunch. I ended up running a bunch of errands before heading home. I had this sandwich as a snack watching the Winnipeg Jets game. This sandwich was massive! The man had wrapped the sandwich such that it was upside down with the arugula at the bottom of the top bun. It was interesting. I loved how tender the porchetta was. It was so flavourful and yummy. The garlic aioli and mustard were the perfect pairing of condiments for this sandwich. I loved the sautéed onions that brought out the natural pork flavour while providing some sweetness. I normally don't like using arugula in salads or anything because it tends to overpower everything with its peppery, bitter, nutty taste. I feel like the baby arugula chosen for this sandwich wasn't as in-your-face in boldness as it can be. It was a light peppery flavour that worked well with the other ingredients. This sandwich was so good. I am still thinking about how awesome it was. The porchetta sandwich goes for $12. It is packed with a lot of love. I'd definitely return and get another one. It's worth it, as the sandwich is massive. I had a great experience at Biggies. I'll be back for more good eats. (110)

I ordered a small 6oz grilled chicken plate (42g protein), with potatoes, caesar salad, and biggie's sauce. First off, the portions are MASSIVE. I was so full and had so much leftover potatoes after my meal, even though everything was delicious and I was straight inhaling it all. The chicken was brined, seasoned, and grilled to perfection-- I also don't typically go for chicken as my first choice of protein but this breast was JUICYYY. And with the biggie's sauce? Total flavor bomb. Caesar salad was just as expected, it added freshness and tang paired with the chicken and potatoes. The place is small, but clean and has a decent amount of seating available. The guy at the front was super friendly and gave great recommendations on what to pair my chicken with. I also really liked the music they put on, whoever was on aux has a great taste! The location and exterior of biggie's is unsuspecting for the quality of food they serve so it definitely classifies as a hidden/local gem. If you're a gym rat or in need of a balanced, filling meal that won't leave you feeling bloated or disgusting, I highly recommend their plates. However I will definitely be back to try their porchetta and fried stuff. 10/10 spot.

He brought one home and I devoured it. The bun was soft, the veal was breaded and tender, the marinara sauce was fresh, and it had onions, peppers, and mushrooms that made it the best sandwich. He bought them for me late in my high school and all through my undergraduate years. I moved away. He retired. Veal sandwiches died. Coming back to the GTA, the best veal sandwich I have had is from California Sandwiches. This location is the closest one to my workplace. On Saturday, I had to go into the office and stopped by this location to grab a bite before getting down to work. This location is on Dixie, just north of the 401. You expect tired, hungry truckers around this area on a Saturday. Then, you have folks like me. I wanted a veal sandwich and was hungry. Parking in front of the eatery is limited. I got a spot out of the possible five available. There is also a back entrance where there is more parking. I walked in. There was a woman ahead of me ordering three sandwiches. I already knew what I wanted. This California Sandwiches looks dated from the outside, but is pretty decent inside. I finally got to place my order for a veal sandwich with mushrooms. Technology-wise, the woman took my order down on small pieces of paper. The only modern thing seemed to be the debit machine. Judging by the sign where it said it accepted cash, scribbled in pen underneath was debit. I was armed with both and paid with cash. Everyone there seemed to be Italian. I liked the homey vibe. She asked if I wanted anything else. I got a bottled diet Dr. Pepper. I found out later on that there was San Pellegrino. Oh, well. I'll get that next time. This California Sandwiches is a bit different. You can buy bottles of marinara sauce to take home. Fish and chips are on the menu. If you can fit poutine in your tummy with your sandwich, it's available. Finally, if you feel like pasta, you can get some here. I loved all the choices. It took a bit of time to get my order. There were three orders ahead of mine. Finally, my sandwich was ready. The woman who prepared asked whether I was dining in. I was. No tray. Just the sandwich wrapped in paper was handed to me. I loved all of it! The woman called me sweetie when she handed me my sandwich. It was endearing. I happily sat down and looked forward to chowing down. Why do I love California Sandwiches? The veal is larger than the bun. I opened my sandwich up and felt so happy looking at such beauty. It came with lots of napkins. You need all of them! I took my first bite. I was in heaven. The veal was tender. The breading was perfect. It was light and yummy. I loved the marinara sauce with little chunks of onion. Finally, all those sliced mushrooms got my seal of approval. The yummy bun held everything together. Some have complained that it's expensive to get a sandwich here. With taxes, my sandwich with mushrooms and a bottled drink came up to $14.50. Considering that my sandwich was huge, packed with goodness, and I didn't eat anything until dinner, it's all worth it to me. It does get messy eating this sandwich. After I was done, I washed my hands in the women's washroom. It has two stalls. It was clean. It's dated, but everything works. I'd come back here again for another yummy veal sandwich. It's good reliving good memories while creating new ones. (169)

We finally got into the restaurant, and out of the rain and instantly the smell brought me back to both visits at MSP. a lot has changed in my diet where 80% of the menu I can't enjoy anymore. they also offer a toasted subs now, and I got one of the few items that wasn't available for this option, of course!
