We decided to grab breakfast (though at lunchtime) here this past Monday and had a great experience! We walked in and were quickly acknowledged and seated. Our waitress was very quick and efficient, and the food came out pretty fast. I ordered two egg whites, two pieces of extra crispy bacon, and one pumpkin pancake. I have been talking about the pancake ever since, because it was the best one I've ever had! It was huge and thick, and just delicious. It honestly didn't even need any butter or syrup, but of course I added some anyway. My boyfriend tried the pancake and also thought it was very good. My boyfriend ordered the chili stacker with grilled potatoes. He didn't choose the spiciest chili they have, but the one underneath it. I tried a bite and it was delicious! He really enjoyed it, and I would not be opposed to ordering it for myself in the future. I just have a tendency to like something sweet at breakfast time! We were very pleasantly surprised to see our bill at the end. Their prices are actually very reasonable. We sometimes go to a chain breakfast place which I won't name, and somehow spend almost double what we spent here. We appreciated how our waitress was quick to bring the bill and let us get out of there!

Every pastry here is crafted with care and it shows in every bite. And the mocha coffee? That alone is worth the trip. Rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, it pairs beautifully with anything in the pastry case. The staff are warm and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience feel personal rather than transactional. One thing to keep in mind: this is not a drive-through. We were in and out in a minute. The food was fresh and warm. I would compare the actual sandwich size to a McDonald's breakfast sandwich so I was glad I had ordered 2 for my husband. We got the salmon and poached eggs waffle, the smores waffle, original, and the Benny Bought a Farm waffle. All was delicious!!!!! They have homemade lemonades as well. Their side of potatoes was also super yummy. Just a note that I requested decaf coffee and it comes from an instant coffee machine and tastes very artificial--not what you expect for the price. We asked about it and they were very kind and offered to replace it with another drink for free. We would love to come back again next time we're in Newbury Park for breakfast!

The…read morehostess informed my partner that there were 3 parties ahead of us with reservations so it would probably be about a 15-20 min wait. We figured that's perfect since it's our reservation time anyway. 11am rolls around and we still hadn't been called or got a text that our table was ready. My partner goes back in to see how much longer, and they weren't able to provide an estimated wait time, only confirmation that we were checked in. We were finally seated at 11:25am, with sincerest apologies for the wait and first round of drinks on the house, which was a really nice gesture. Our waiter, Oscar, greeted us and immediately said his boss told him free drinks on the house, and asked what we wanted. I can't tell you how much I really appreciated not only the gesture, but the message being passed down the chain of command. I don't know how many other restaurants I've been to, where we've been told something is on the house due to a mistake and then when we get the bill it isn't. The fact that they made double sure that it was clear we would be compensated a free round a drinks was very impressive to me. Great customer service, accountability and fantastic leadership. Oscar was a great server too. He told us to scan the QR code on the menu because it had picture options, and there were items there that weren't on the menu. After each person placed our order, he'd made comments such as "that's one of my favorites!" or "I really like that one!" which was a nice confirmation that he is knowledgeable on what we are ordering. At one point, he brought our waters and said that the bartenders were still making our drinks, but after he took our order he was going to help the bartender. Again, great customer service, work ethic, and team work. Now onto the food. In terms of drinks we ordered two watermelon lemonades, a cold brew and coffee. For food, we ordered The Gravy Train, Chicken and Waffles, You Had Me at Burger, Benny Met A Cali Girl, and Waffle Cute. I really enjoyed the food. Let me tell you, every single person at our table cleared their plate. Apparently, today our table was feeling very savory, but I would love to go back and try some of their sweeter options. My personal standout was the seasoned potatoes. I'm the type of gal who needs to try a bite of my everything my partner orders and when I took one bite, I somehow finished his entire side of seasoned potatoes. They were perfectly crunchy on the outside with a good amount of potato (not too much, not too little) on the inside. I loved them. Maybe this was just bad timing on our part because it was a holiday, and we came at lunch time, but I did notice it did take a long time to receive our food. We received our food at 12:07pm. I can't remember exactly what time we placed our food order, but if we were seated at 11:25am, 45 minutes seems like quite a wait to order and for the food to arrive. I imagine if the bartender was backed up, the kitchen was probably too. Overall, I think if you don't have any plans for the rest of the day, or if they're flexible, definitely give this place a try. When I think "brunch" this is the exact type of food I want in terms of quality and quantity. I also felt like the price was fairly priced for what we received. Parking is also plentiful and free. Lastly, I was very impressed with the customer service from both management and our waiter.

Our server unlocked the door for us, showed us to a table, brought us freshly brewed coffee, and took our orders. Service was friendly and excellent. I decided to go with the house omelet ($19). The problem with this format is that you don't get to the good stuff until you are half way through and by that time I was so stuffed I couldn't eat any more! Overall, a very good omelet.
