Just moved to the area and this has quickly become my go-to breakfast burrito spot. I'm glad I learned about it through Yelp. Located in a strip mall, this place is a hidden gem! There's also plenty of parking. If you eat there, there is indoor and outdoor seating. It's nothing fancy but there are plenty of tables. If you're a coffee lover like me, you will love the refillable coffee station. They also have an online ordering option which is great if you're on the go. My order- Breakfast Burrito with Bacon. I ask for easy potatoes and it comes out perfect. Good size and fresh ingredients- including the salsa that comes with it. I've had many breakfast burritos and this one wins in both quality and price. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast. Already looking forward to my next visit! read more

Always a great breakfast. Portions are big enough that you can split a plate with another, otherwise, we always have to bring leftovers home. Service is usually good as well. Downside? At times, particularly in this neighborhood pocket, it can have young families which rather loud children. I have sensitive hearing, so it the screaming goes unabated, I have to flee the scene (LOL). But that's true of any restaurant. So for a quick breakfast or lunch, it's a fantastic place for a hearty meal. read more

Problem was had breakfast with my family, my pancakes came out and had a massive black hair coming out of the pancake through the butter and I politely asked for some new pancakes. This is my go to place for an all American breakfast. In-door dining & take-out available. I called in an order and was ready before the promised time. The food was delivered hot and well packaged. This is an Oak Park staple! I was sad when Cisco's went out of business, but I am satisfied with this replacement. Years later and the quality is still great with reasonable prices. This is more of a "greasy spoon" order-at-the-counter breakfast spot (which hits the spot if that's what you're looking for). I have seen the restaurant packed some mornings, which may make it a little difficult to find seating. Nonetheless, the food is served quickly and people leave soon after they come in. I have also taken several orders to-go, and everything is packaged well (and still hot when I get home). My friends swear their best item is the breakfast burrito (which I agree is amazing, especially with the salsa), but I go back regularly for their burgers and omelettes. If you're up for something hearty, the chili cheese fries are also great (and definitely large enough to share). The owners are greek, so I have also heard great things about their gyros. The restaurant has amazing good, impeccable service, and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food. Decided to try this breakfast café for the first time yesterday and not impressed at all actually disappointed. It was very expensive and the only thing that was good was the potatoes. The avocado omelette was plainly served just very basic something anybody could make just eggs with some diced onions inside topped with sliced avocado, nothing to it, not worth the price tag. But what was most disturbing is that they serve artificial syrup with their pancakes. The chefs quality brand is made of high fructose corn syrup and artificial maple flavor & caramel color. Once upon a time, I lived in Oak Park when it was gelling as a separate area in eastern Ventura County. The shopping plaza where Breakfast Cafe is located has evolved a lot since the 80's. The cafe came along after I left the area. When in the area in early December, we stopped by for lunch with our friends. It was warm that day, so we were able to sit outside on their large covered patio. We were greeted warmly, and the gentleman at the counter was very helpful in getting us through the menu options. He might have been the owner or manager. The menu is extensive, filled with breakfast and lunch items. Those are the only two meals they open for; no dinner. Dear Hubby and I chose to split an omelet, which we had with egg whites only. They were happy to accommodate the request. Our order came out pretty quickly, and was plenty of food, as the rest of the plate held home-style potatoes. We also received an English muffin on the side. Prices were very fair. Overall, we should have been thrilled. To be nit-picky, I found the interior to be dated, especially the old school menu board. It surely keeps the costs down to make their changes to the offerings on that kind of adaptable board, versus printed menus. There just isn't much charm to a white plastic board, unless you're going full 50's/60's kitsch as your style. The interior dining room was cheerful, but also could use a refresh in style. The outside patio area had a good number of tables, shaded by a large awning "roof". The quality was decent for the cost, but not the most memorable omelet ever. Also, the young women serving food and busing the tables weren't that friendly. We'll probably return sometime, as the food was priced well, and served quickly. A few tweaks to their look and smiles from their servers and we'd be even happier with them. read more

After going on a hike we were looking for somewhere to eat that didn't require reservations, or fancy brunch dress up and had some good options. This was it! You order at the counter and go find a table where they'll bring you the food. Pancakes and French toast were perfect! Not some fancy things with random flavors thrown in but good, large buttermilk pancakes and delicious French toast with crispy bacon and eggs done right. They're coffee was good, you have a few to pick from, and the OJ was refreshing. Really, a three and a half rounded up to four, cause local biz . Denver omelette was lovely, I took a picture a few bites in to show how the fillings are cooked into the omelette, which is what I prefer. I personally don't love when the eggs are just wrapped around the fillings, and then everything falls apart when you cut into it. The potatoes were fine. The option of a bagel for toast was nice. Coffee and other beverages were self serve at the counter, with cream, sugar etc. also at the counter. Service was order and pay at the counter then food brought to your table. Decor, even bathrooms were nicer than they needed to be. I'm just knocking a star (and a half if I could) because the prices, $16-$18 for an omelette, $3-$4 for a coffee, plus tip, are really, to me, sit-down full service prices, for fast casual, self serve product. I'd say I'd be back but I can't think of what would make this more appealing than a truly takeout joint that would be cheaper, or an actual full sit down at the same price. read more

Disappointing. This place has a lot of potential. The quality just isn't there. Perhaps the only thing our family enjoyed and found satisfying was the fresh squeezed O.J. In an era where health awareness is so abundant and we have so many great options, for the price, we regret putting this unhealthy food in our bodies. The overall yelp rating was misleading. In the absence of many other choices in the area, perhaps people are settling. The food came out very quickly, maybe even a bit too quickly. The hash browns were slightly burned on the bottom side... we didn't see it at first, but you sure could taste the char. The breakfast burrito was stuffed with potatoes; all you taste is bacon and potatoe... where's the egg? The chili was comparable to Tommy Burger; more liked mashed chili....
