This place is cool for Dinner but too chaotic for breakfast. We stayed at the neighboring hotel and Mikey's is right across the parking lot. They also have a contract with them to serve their complementary breakfasts so we decided to hit them up for dinner. When we entered we were greeted by Mike, at least I thought it was as his shirt talked about how good/cool Mikes are. He was very nice and accommodating and made some recommendations. I was intrigued by his description of the Dynamite Sticks and promptly ordered the ground pork version. When they arrived i started to get a little apprehensive by the look of them but within ten minutes we had emptied the plate. It was a little too spicy but I enjoyed them. A while later my Rib Eye entree arrived and it was good and priced fairly. I feel the salad seemed a little bland and basic but I still crushed it. All in all the dinner was a good and pleasant experience with just a bit of wait. The next morning we went for the hotel's complementary breakfast. It was slammed so we grabbed a spot at the bar. It took about 10 minutes to get or drink order in and another 15 to get our order in and when we did we were rushed and the waitress walked away before we could order more food as the Hotel's complementary breakfast meal was far too small. We were there for about an hour before we got our food. It seemed as though the workers were confused and running in circles. Food tasted good and they even had the good creamer for the coffee. Also, Mike seemed to be there in the morning too and good thing as he seemed to show up and get everything going. I would definitely visit this place again but not for breakfast. read more

I'm currently staying at the Palm Garden Hotel, and we were advised that the complimentary breakfast included with our stay is served at Mikey's Restaurant. I thought it was a little odd that we had to leave the hotel and go to a separate restaurant for breakfast, but we decided to give it a try. We were greeted and seated without any issues, but unfortunately, the experience quickly became very unpleasant. The employees had their own children in the restaurant, and the noise from them playing became unbearable. It got to the point where we felt like we had to hurry up, finish our food, and leave instead of being able to sit and enjoy our breakfast. What made it more frustrating was that the parents were there and could have gotten their children under control. At one point, the mother was pushing their stroller back and forth throughout the restaurant while the children continued making noise. I understand that this is a family-run business, but customers should still be provided with a reasonably comfortable dining environment. The food itself was just okay. Since it was complimentary through the hotel, I can accept it for what it was, but if I had paid the regular menu prices for that food and experience, I would have been pissed. It simply wasn't worth it. Overall, I will not be coming back. The food was average, and the atmosphere made what should have been a relaxing breakfast unnecessarily stressful and unpleasant. Came here for breakfast and it's a pretty open space. Looks like in the evenings they have live entertainment. The server was really friendly and nice. I ordered the two eggs and steak breakfast. I asked to substitute the potatoes with sweet potato fries and she happily did so. I ordered the steak medium rare with sourdough toast. The food came out pretty quick. The fries were crispy on the outside with a hint of salt and was really good. The sourdough was nice and I added butter to it. Now to the steak. The seasoning on the steak was really good but the steak itself came out well done. Not medium rare, not medium, but fully overly cooked. I didn't complain because the server was so nice. I would probably come back because everything else came out really good but maybe try something beside a steak since that doesn't seem to be their specialty. read more

So I wanted to give this place a shot because we lived down the street and we were hungry. But I just have to give an honest review of the service was not good. Took the girl a long time to come back back-and-forth for our drinks. I got a tuna melt. The bread was completely soggy, and the fries were undercooked. Going to Mikey's feels like going to a family member's for dinner. We felt very welcomed, it had a warm and friendly ambiance. It felt like I imagine the TV show Cheers might feel, "where everybody knows your name". It seems like a place you can go to if you're feeling lonely, or are new to the area and want to get to know people, I went in February when I was visiting from Minneapolis and felt very comfortable, like I could blend right in. They were having a game night. There were people in groups at tables playing a trivia game. I don't know if it was the owner, but whoever it was, asked a question and each table would try to come up with the right answer. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The restaurant looks stark from the outside and didn't seem like much, but iwe decided to take a chance and it sure felt good once we walked through the door. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with no meat and ended up waiting over 30 minutes. During that time, I watched multiple people sit down, get their food, eat, and leave. I finally had to ask about my order, and the employee was very rude. She handed me the sandwich in a bag, and when I asked if it had meat on it, she said, "Yeah, sorry, it does." Mikey's is such an amazing local spot, and I'm always happy to support them whenever someone wants to grab breakfast! I brought my boyfriend here for the first time and he genuinely loved both the food and the service. the owner actually came by to talk to us, and she was such a delight. we ordered the ube pancakes and an omelette and both were delicious. I've been here several times before, and I really appreciate that they offer a good amount of gluten-free options. I've never been disappointed. the owner also told us about their karaoke nights on thursdays and fridays, as well as 21+ dancing on saturdays, which sounds so fun and is such a sweet way they try to bring the community together. It's truly a small, family-run business, and you can feel the care in everything they do. I highly recommend Mikey's. I'm giving this restaurant a three due to the fact we had to get someone and ask them where could we sit. We were brought out menus right away and my husband and I each got a beer. But then I had to go get someone when we were ready to order. It might've been the owner's wife as she was cleaning menus. They weren't very busy yet as the crowd wasn't coming until like six and we were there more like five. The owner came over and talked to us and he was very nice and everyone was nice. I just felt kind of ignored. My husband had the patty melt and he loved it. He got onion rings and he shared some with me. I got the pastrami melt. It wasn't as good as most of the ones I've had before. I think I should've asked for some spicy mustard that would've helped. I chose baby greens and it was a salad and it was fine. First I will have to say that we really liked the owner and his wife BUT..........we went for Thankgiving dinner. There were only 4 other pepole there. Mikey had told me on the phone that TG dinner was $25.99, but he charged $27.99. It was terrible. It was served cold....sweet potatoes had a chill on them from the frig. Green bean were not cooked and hard. Stuff was....wierd with mashed carrot in it and what looked like cheese on top. turkey was ok. I hardly ate anything but the turkey. A Marie Calendars frozen turkey dinner would have been better and been about $25 less. When we were thru, he brought one small piced of pumpkin pie with 2 spoons. REALLY? for $28.00? I feel that my money went in the trash. Had to make something else to eat when I got home.When the asked how it was, I said absolutley nothing, but my friend not wanting to hurt there feeling said it was great. Now she is telling me that it was awful and they wont last. If something is bad, I will never say it was good. This was really really bad. I was like they took at frozen dinner from the store, and put it on a plate and microwaved it for a minute or two. I have been hearing from others that the food is not good too.
