GREAT healthy food option. Bread and veggies are always fresh, meat is halal, customer service is always on point. I have been a customer here since they first opened and continue to keep coming back. Beef and lamb is my favorite. Not the cheapest meal but well worth it! read more

Food was amazing and Fresh! It was hot and made to order, lamb and beef was my choice of sandwich with French fries made with a special seasoning and crunchy soft in the inside... They had a booth at a festival which was covered in QR codes. There were no menus posted, but ordering was available via the QR code. When I ordered via the QR code, the people at the booth claimed my order went to the restaurant. They spoke to a supervisor at the restaurant and claimed they could not give me the food, but they would refund me. The refund never came, so I called the restaurant, they had me leave a message, then they never called back. It's pretty much the opposite of dine and ditch. I paid, i got nothing, and they still have not refunded my money. Update: The owner called me and thanked me for the one-star review. This was not a surprise because, if you look at the previous one-star reviews, you will see a history of combativeness and customers complaining of harassing messages after reviews. He claims his system cannot give refunds, he can only give refunds in person, in cash or store credit. A simple google of the platform policy make it clear that is a untrue: https://vnfoodex.kwickmenu.com/terms.php. He can see my location on here, so he knows I live too far away to go in-store for a refund. If you are ordering online, please keep this in mind. If you investigate their Yelp further, you will see many favorable reviews hidden, which means the system is flagging suspicious behavior. This might explain the abundance of stars overall despite a lot of similar bad reviews to mine. read more

This place is insanely good. Like, I don't even know where to start. I had the chicken Doner wrap, and everything was SO fresh. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, and every bite was incredible. The owner was working and was so friendly and engaging, he even offered us samples of the different sauces so we could find our favorite. I will absolutely be dreaming about this meal and will be back very, very soon. Do yourself a favor and try this place! read more

Very good doner kebab. I tried doner sandwich and meat and bread were amazing. Service was good. Price is little high for a doner sandwich but I think because bread and meat they use are high quality. Restroom was clean. Plenty of parking. There are inside and outside seating. read more

Super delicious and we're sad we haven't known about Twisted Meats until now! Fresh, yummy, and HUGE portions. Traditional doner and beer, very like what we've enjoyed overseas. Will definitely return! read more

Yummy flatbread sandwich. Bread is thick and meat is well seasoned. Could use some jalapeños or pepperoncinis tho-maybe I'll bring my own next time. Nice casual option. Ample parking. Sandwiches do take a while to make so order ahead. read more

Twisted Meats - Mediterranean Near Me - Thousand Oaks, California

The menu is straightforward but done exceptionally well, whether you go for the classic beef/lamb doner, chicken plates, or their wraps, everything tastes clean and high‑quality. The sides (especially the rice and salads) are bright and well-prepared, not an afterthought like at many similar places. It has a fast food vibe with healthier options. Service is fast, friendly, and efficient. The restaurant is clean and comfortable for dine‑in, but they're also great for quick takeout. read more

I tried the beef & lamb sandwich with feta topping, as suggested from one of the reviews I read. I loved the lightly toasted bread with sesame seeds! It has a crunch texture that i like. The meats are a bit salty, but I think it was salty because he was scraping off the bottom of pan, which means I got the last of what was left on bottom, drenched in salt maybe. I asked my daughter about it, and she said it's usually not salty like that. The veggies seemed fresh though. The service was quick and easy. Great place for lunch or dinner. Maybe come in ahead of time rather than way after lunch time like I did. Lol read more

Amazing ! Food quality and taste was spectacular! Crunchy sandwich bread and sauces made it awesome!

I am so sad I have been craving Twisted Meats because it was so delicious last time and I drove here from Oxnard and I couldn't be more disappointed. The beef and lamb meat was not on the rotisserie and that should have been the first clue. The meat was so dry and not fresh. The portion was much smaller than the last time I was here and I understand times are tough for restaurants but if you're gonna charge the prices then it's disappointing. It was $32 for the doner box with fries and a side of hummus and pita. The hummus was dry and not smooth and creamy like the last time and the pita was so hot by the time they cooled off they were too hard to eat. They charge .49 to have the fries on the side and I wish they would have at least mentioned that. The gal who was working was sweeping the floor which I appreciate a clean restaurant but she didn't wash her hands before working the register and serving me my meal. We love to try to eat at locally owned restaurants but Oh well I guess my craving for Twisted Meats is no longer. read more

The Doner Kebab has come to Thousand Oaks! When I spent a month in Switzerland, they are German/Swiss healthy sandwiches. The toasted bread, spot on to what I enjoyed in Switzerland. The meat seasoned just right! It took me back to Switzerland! Excellent! read more

I tried this place when they first opened and I must have ordered wrong, because I didn't love the food. I went back today after several referrals and had the Donner beef/lamb sandwich. It was excellent! Even at $20 I still would go back because it was very high quality. I also love that it is 100% local and family owned/operated restaurants. I rarely eat out for lunch, but this will be one of my once a week treat spots, and can't wait to take my family. read more

We got the doner plate & wrap both with chicken. The wrap was really small and both were pretty bland. Took around 5-10 minutes to come out. For like $45, i would say it wasn't worth. read more

This place is great! It is the closest thing to the doner wraps we had in Germany. I love the fact there is a restaurant where my meat loving friends can order two different types of meat and I can order my vegan meal. The rice is so flavorful and the veggies are very fresh. The portions are large. The staff is friendly, attention and informative. They have both high tables and booths. It is cozy inside but they also have a great outside patio. We will definitely be frequenting this spot! read more

The food was delish & offered great value for the price. The chicken was my fav , but I also tried the half & half option, which was awesome. It allowed me to experience the flavors of both beef and lamb doner. The team was friendly and helpful. Lars assisted us with any questions we had about the menu, and Eldor was kind too He even brought us a special doner bread to try, which was crispy, warm, and paired perfectly with hummus I recommend this place & will definitely be returning next time we visit Thousand Oaks. Twisted Meats - Doner box with DÖNER RICE BOX - Mediterranean Near Me - Thousand Oaks, California

I stopped by after doing a quick search in the area for a top lunch spot. They were right off the 101 freeway going north, inside a plaza. There was a good size parking lot, but at lunch time it filled up. Inside is nice and clean, very modern cafe/bistro vibes. You order at the counter and the lady brought me my food when it was ready. There is inside seating but not a lot and there is no real place to wait for a to-go order inside. The menu is large and clear and plenty of offerings but it's not overwhelming. The cashier was super friendly and very helpful. It took about 8-12 minutes to get my food. Donor Sanwhich w/ Lamb and Beef - 4 Star - the bread was unique, almostlike a small loaf that was hallowed out so you just have a crisp shell. It was a great vehicle for the mounds of meat and veggie. I opted for no tomatoes and went with the spicy sauce. I definitely would get at least 1 more sauce to balance the meat out. Fries - 5 Star - I addded the fries and drink to make it combo. The size was kind of on the small side for a $7 bump but they were really good. Slightly battered and preseasoned with a great crunch. The garlic sauce is like a garlicky ranch and was also really good on the sandwich. My total was $29 and I definitely could have split with my wife, but it was my birthday so powered through and ate it all. read more

Having grown up eating Döner, it's tough to find a place in the US that meets that flavor profile. Twisted meats absolutely nails it. Get the lamb and beef with all of the veggies for the most authentic taste. Sauces are unique, the tzatziki is the closest we found to our hometown locale. The bread is perfection, and the fries are cooked well. The restaurant is efficient, clean, and the food outstanding. Go! read more

Well we came back, again! I really cannot stress enough how good the Doner is. The bread is wonderful and fresh, made daily with imported German flour. The shaved lamb on the sandwich is to die for. Load up the veggies and use original sauce. Look at the photo, that's "1" sandwich. Huge, my wife and I split. Also fresh kegs of imported German beer. Come on! What else could you ask for. Used to be so good. We brought everyone here. Reminiscent of college food, but better. We are here once a week. We are German speakers and appreciated the food. The bread was amazing! Then we came back. Took 40 minutes to get cold, food. Rice was so hard that it looked like raw yellow lentils. Leftover meat and questionable freshness. When we told the server with red hair, she said it was hot and challenged us by saying it was. Nope. It was cold. Secondly none of the meat was cut from the Doner. Really? 100 bucks for 4 dishes and a beer. Nope. Up charges for every thing. Speaking of beer, it was 1/2" from the top. Seriously? Oh. Don't cut the Döner when it's still raw (see pictures). It's gross. And the pan on top of the machine is all the chopped up meat from the spindle of gristle that you cut. Go anywhere else. This was disappointing. And Ruben, sorry. As much as we appreciated the free Kolsch... and platitudes that this was fresh food you make everyday, this was terrible. read more

Very stingy with the meat. Don't get it wrong, the sandwiches are pretty good but quite expensive for the very small amount of meat you're getting in the sandwich. You go to a place like Tel Aviv in Encino or Soomsoom in Westlake Village and they load up your plate with really good Mediterranean food. This place is more expensive and you get less than half the quantity. read more

The meat is way under spiced, they put too much veggies that masks the meat taste they charge a lot xtra if you use a card or split a Sandwich or take a deep breath ! . In 2006, my wife and I boarded a plane to Germany, chasing a dream called The World Cup. We didn't have tickets--of course we didn't--but we had friends, beer, and the kind of optimism that makes sense only in your twenties. We found ourselves in Köln's Fanzone: tens of thousands of strangers, flags waving, songs spilling from every direction. A stranger handed me a beer I hadn't ordered. In that moment, I understood what civilization was for. We drank. We cheered. We belonged. At some point, my new companions suggested a "Döner kebab." "A what?" I asked. Moments later, I was holding a miracle wrapped in warm bread: spiced meat, crisp vegetables, creamy sauce, all dancing together in perfect symmetry. I ate. I was changed. The night dissolved into laughter, streetlights, and one too many meters of beer. I've been chasing that taste ever since. Fast forward nearly twenty years. The same German friend--now older, wiser, still capable of mischief--tells me, "You have to try Twisted Meats." So I went. Tucked into an unassuming corner of Newbury Park, Twisted Meats doesn't look like a portal to another life. But step inside and--there it is. The smell. The sizzle. The promise. I ordered the döner. One bite and I was back in Köln. The bread--soft and toasty. The meat--perfectly spiced, shaved into ribbons of glory. The vegetables--fresh, cool, alive. The sauce--divine, with that elusive tang I'd been missing for almost two decades. I closed my eyes. The roar of the crowd came back. The laughter. The songs. The generosity of strangers. If you're looking for authenticity, for flavor that travels across continents and years, for a meal that feels like memory--Twisted Meats is your ticket. Go. Order the döner. And if someone hands you a beer you didn't ask for, drink it. You're in the right place. read more

We been to Twisted Meats 4 times now, and each time is just as good as the last. My Go-To is the Chicken Wrap w/Chef Special Sauce. The spicy sauce is "Spicy", so beware. I have to be able to finish the wrap in one sitting. It is packed full of meat and veggies, so will be very full. I highly recommend the Chef Fries w/Feta cheese, so delicious! My son and daughter-In-Law have gotten the sandwich; this thing is "HUGE" and will definitely fill an empty stomach. My wife has gotten the bowl a few times, and she absolutely loves it. It is almost big enough for two meals. You will for-sure fill your belly with great quality food and friendly service. The staff is amazing. Inside, there is seating for about 12-14 people, and an open kitchen concept so you can watch you meal being prepared. I hope you enjoy Twisted Meats as much as we do. read more

I went there for the first time tonight. WOW, it was so good. We got the rice donor bowls with beef/lamb and one with falafel. This will not be our last time. Both plates were delicious. My husband said the falafels were the best ones we have eaten since moving to Thousand Oaks last year and we have tried several restaurants. Oh hoho, a wize-azz "manager" reply? So classy and professional! As I look back on your recent customer reviews (we're not guests), I see lots of complaints like mine, where you have the same wise a** and disrespectful replies to their complaints about your crappy food, incompetent staff, and high prices. LOTS of 1-star reviews. Nothing but excuses excuses excuses and blaming the customer. Pathetic. First, where did I mention feta was the reason for my sodium bomb comment? My comment was that ALL of your crappy food was too salty which you revealed here is because your heavy handed cooks shake too much of that "bold" spice blend on the food. Over-seasoning is what shops like yours do to hide the bad taste and low quality of your food. Next, you're not smart enough to understand that your employee FAILED to tell me to GRAB my paid for drink on the way out. Not one apology to me to regain my interest and business! By mocking and ridiculing a customer's dissatisfaction and honest review, you must be making hundreds of dollars in sales there, Ruben! Go back to Koln, der Trottel! lol read more

Dear gentle reader, Do not approach ordering from Twisted Meats lightly--for you and your taste buds stand on the brink of something bordering on the transcendent. The vegetables arrive so fresh that even the most resolute vegan might momentarily forgive the unapologetic abundance of beef, lamb, and chicken beneath them. The sauces are lush, indulgent, and impossibly smooth--crafted with a decadence that feels almost improper to describe. The fries? Crisped to perfection on the outside--twice over, it seems--while the interior dissolves into something closer to silk than potato. And then there is the staff: disarmingly kind, effortlessly charismatic, and possessed of a presence that elevates the entire experience. The towering proprietor, all 6'8" of him, greets guests with a smile that borders on euphoric--especially when he places into your hand a perfectly chilled stein of Enegren Valkyrie. The beer selection is not merely good; it is curated with intent and reverence. Each pour feels like a quiet passage to the old country--a place you may not want to leave once you arrive. In short, their meats linger in the mind long after the meal ends. We are fortunate, indeed, that two gentlemen from Deutschland chose to share their craft here. PROST! read more

This is a great doner place, that offers meats that are portioned well. The chicken and lamb/beef options both tasted wonderful, cooked to perfection. One thing I loved is that everything comes in a to-go type box. This is super convenient if you have leftovers or simply want to take your meal home to enjoy later.
