    Arnold Palmer
    April S.

Such yummy food! Great for lunch. And their staff is very sweet too! I had the flank steak with Brussel sprouts and roasted potatoes with an Arnold Palmer on the side. Everything was delicious! The steak was tender and cooked perfectly medium. My son got the cheeseburger with fries and it looked tasty too. The food quality is top notch. Not your typical quick lunch place. We will definitely be back!

The avocado burger special and chicken plate with brussels sprouts, beet and carrot were both excellent -- fresh, clean, and well-executed. But the real standout was the employee named Evan. Attentive, genuine, and made sure we were taken care of the entire visit. Urban Plates Thousand Oaks is solid, but service like this is what brings you back.

Urban Plates never disappoints, but this visit was especially good. I ordered the Cobb salad and it was SO fresh -- crisp greens, perfectly portioned toppings, and everything tasted super high quality. You can tell they don't just throw it together; the balance of flavors and textures was on point. I also got one of their cranberry drinks and wow -- so refreshing and not overly sweet. It paired perfectly with the salad and made the whole meal feel light but still filling. Shoutout to Evan as well! He was friendly, attentive, and had such a positive attitude. Great customer service really makes a difference, and he made the experience even better. Thanks :) Evan!

Grilled Grass Fed Steak Sandwich Side Caesar Salad

I absolutely love this place. I'm borderline addicted to it I order my lunch from here at least once a week. I always get the half steak sandwich with a Cesar salad combo and it's the best thing I've ever had. It's always the highlight of my week when I eat it I highly recommend it. The food is so simple without doing too much and adding unnecessary ingredients and because of the simplicity, the flavors always feel so intentional. Amazing quality food for a great price.

I come here for the kids steak platter , it's just enough food for light eaters like myself . My husband almost always has the nicois salad and we never leave without those famous cowgirl cookies . Service is fast and the restaurant is very clean, i love the open kitchen style because you get to see how it's all put together . There's a beef with mushroom gravy I've tried when other friends have had it and although it contains garlic it's garlic light and will be my next taste adventure at Urban Plates . This is a great location . I highly recommend .

We had this place called urban plates that does all different types of things. We got it delivered and took a while to get to us but it was relatively warm. I had the steak plate with a side of macaroni and cheese and herb roasted potatoes with the Cantaloupe Mango Pineapple Replenisher. The best part of the meal was the potatoes. They were nice and garlicky when you bite into them they melt in your mouth. Very delicious!! The steak was ok it was a tab bit juicy but definitely lacked seasoning. And could have been a bit more tender. The macaroni was ok could of been a bit cheesy and creamier. The replenisher was not for me but i could see how someone would love it.

    Turkey Avocado Club Sandwich

Stopped here for lunch while traveling. It is located in a nice mall, but on one of the ends so it is easily accessible without a walking through the entire mall. Plenty of parking at the mall. The space itself is very large. A big indoor seating area and decent size outdoor patio. You can order at the counter or from the app at your table through a QR code. Food: Food was fresh and had a farm to table feel. I ordered the grilled steak salad, which was very light. The steak was carved very thin, but was flavorful. The rest of the salad was a bit dull and could've use more toppings. My husband got the turkey avocado club sandwich and said it was excellent and the bread was super soft. We ordered a kids meal for our son with grilled chicken, macaroni and cheese, piece of bread and drink for about $10 which I thought was pretty reasonable. They have plenty of options to build your own plate or order a pre-designed salad or sandwich. Service: we ordered at the counter and food came out reasonably quick to our table. I'd definitely stop here again, especially if looking for a quicker, healthy meal option.

    Kids Chicken Tenders 5/13/25

GETTING HERE: Located at the Thousand Oaks Mall near the movie theater side. There are a few other restaurants/food options near Urban Plates. REVIEW: Welp, it was fine, enough. Being a first-timer, I wasn't sure what to expect, and I should have lowered my expectations (sorry). There's lots of open seating outside, which is nice in T.O. IMO. When you arrive, there is a large menu outside that you can look at if you choose to. Then, inside, you order at the counter. I chose a Kids' chicken tender option. Ordering was a huge challenge. The employee spoke so softly that I had to ask them to repeat themselves numerous times. It was awkward. I had a question about their drink options (again, first-timer, and I even fell on my sword and told them it was my first time), and it was so awkward, unfriendly, and uninviting. I felt as if I was a bother to them. THEN, because California, they charge an extra 3% on your total order. I should have left at that moment, but I was invested and wanted to see it through. Boo. The chicken was OK. The fries were cold. The bread was cold too. With the numerous other options at the TO Mall, I'd recommend a different place to eat.

    Moroccan Chicken Braise 7/10
    Marlisa S.

Pretty good food! Lots of healthy options and unique options in my opinion. Sandwiches, salads, etc. I got the braised Moroccan chicken, with mashed potatoes. It was a lot of food and a good price. Only thing kinda pricey was the drinks, however they were refillable! So actually worth it, good tea, interesting drinks choices. Great service! You do order at the front yourself but they still bring your food. They get you things if needed. They offer refills multiple times. They were on top of it! Really friendly staff. I liked the whole inside, tons of space, the location is great cause it's at the mall. I want to try more food from here!

    Mediterranean Chicken Bowl
    Reta B.

I came here during lunch break for something quick before returning to work. I had their chicken bowl which was really tasty. I felt that the chicken could have been cooked a bit more however, overall was good. I would recommend it and will return again. They have a lot of good dishes with a variety of protein options.

Today, (1/31/25), my mother and I were at the mall when I got an email that Urban Plates had a new bowl on the menu. We decided to try it: Mediterranean Chicken Bowl, which features chargrilled cage-free chicken marinated in Mediterranean spices, drizzled with lemon sour cream, and served with ginger-turmeric basmati rice, a shaved red onion & mint salad, sweet cherry peppers, cucumber tzatziki, housemade hummus, and sumac-spiced crispy pita chips. We both thought it was delicious and definitely shareable for $15. I requested the lemon sour cream on the side since I'm picky about white sauces, but honestly, the bowl had plenty of flavor on its own with all the fresh and bold ingredients. I'll definitely be back for this one!

At the time the dining room was sparsely populated, only a few other tables were seated. We were seated quickly by the hostess and ordered within a few minutes of sitting down; my wife ordered the seafood pasta I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and the tomato burrata salad as an appetizer. After about 20 minutes the waitress returned to let us know that they were out of the pasta, so my wife asked for the risotto instead. The salad arrived quickly, however my wife noted that it was missing grilled peaches that were listed in the menu description, a disappointment. The salad itself was balsamic dressed cherry tomatoes with a single piece of burrata on top. Another 40 minutes later our entrees finally arrived. Much to my dismay my dish lacked any appreciable character; it was as if they had cooked six month old frozen pasta and thrown up a brown sauce with fried sage on top. My wife's risotto was mostly cheese but was also similarly devoid of other flavors. Now to be fair to the folks here, I did mention to the waitstaff that the flavors in the food were off and they did reduce the bill. They were also apologetic about the wait we faced. Nevertheless, restaurants have three things they need to do well in order to be successful: food, service and ambience. Perhaps if they improved the quality of the food and the time to service more people would come. Needless to say, but I won't be returning.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

We had a dinner reservation last Saturday which we showed up a little early to have a cocktail before hand. It's located inside of a strip mall with loads of parking. A decent size patio seating. When you walk in, you're greeted with the hostess who were amazing. Right infront of you is the bar area. That itself isn't big at all. There's a few seat along the bar area and that's about it. Also inside dining isn't big as well. Restaurants wasn't massive but nice and quaint and very busy. We were told that if we wanted to grab a drink and take it outside to a spot while we wait for our table it would be fine. They would come get us once it's ready. Cocktails and wine menu was quite nice. They do allow you to bring up to two bottles for a corkage fee. Which we did take advantage of. But beforehand, started off with their smoke and sour cocktails. Mezcal, lime, hibiscus juice, farm egg whites and cherry bitters. It was quite delicious and that smoked mezcal, wow. If you like mezcal, it's worth trying. Bar area isn't big so we had to stand there and wait for our drink. Maybe a 10 to 15 minutes later, we were informed our table was ready. We were seated right behind the bar area for a table for four. I believe Jonathan was our waiter. Very sweet and friendly. Also, it did seemed like a lot of regulars. All the staff members seem to know everyone that was dining. Menu is limited but quite impressive. We started off with a few shared plates before the entrees. -Ember roasted red beets with preserved lemon crèma, spiced pumpkin seeds, pickled Fresno chilis and mint. Wow, it was delicious. The flavors with the beets, kiss kiss. -Smoke trout toast- blisters cherry tomatoes, candy beets, wild arugula, crème fraiche and lemon. This was top dish for starters from all of us. The flavor of the trout was the star of the dish. Highly recommend. -Mushrooms flatbread- shiitake, buna shimeji and oyster mushrooms, tarragon, fiore di Latte mozzarella and crème fraiche. Mushrooms lovers with amazing variety all combined together for a delicious bite. -Spicy scampi flatbread- rock shrimp, parsley, garlic, Calabrian chilis and parmigiano reggiano. It's literally having a seafood scampi but on a flatbread. Wow wow, favorite out of the two flatbread. Definitely recommend. Entrees, Manila clams and salt spring mussels tossed in spaghetti with Calabrian chilis and parsley. The flavors were excellent. Simple but very tasty. -Crispy gnocchi with cherry tomatoes, basil in a Parmesan fondue. It's alway a hit or miss for me but this was a hit. And the elk which was maybe a special. Not quite sure the whole description but it was very tasty. Plus it was very tender and cooked perfectly and mixed with a sauce and topped with crispy onions. Another hit. Lastly we actually had room left for dessert which was the bread pudding. Hot with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. Perfect way to end an amazing meal. The service was great. Food was excellent and highly recommended. Each dish had its unique taste that was delicious. Everything ordered was outstanding and no crumbs were left. We would definitely be back.

It's a small business and I know Phil is working hard to make his place great so I know it's not Phil. But hey Phil, check your employees. This isn't cool and the only reason for this review is because I tried twice to solve this issue over the phone. For future patrons, please double check your receipts as well as your credit card statements!!!

We arrived about 10 minutes early for our 6pm reservation for a party of 6 and were seated promptly along the window looking out at the patio. The interior of this restaurant has always been well lighted but not too bright and classic with warm woods. Our server greeted us promptly and took our cocktail order. She was polite, enthusiastic and charming all in one. Drinks came out promptly and correctly made. Tito martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives. Olives were hand stuffed not out of a jar and a bottle of Caymus conundrum and a Coors light draft. Now to the food. We started with the crispy calamari and rustic cheddar biscuits. The calamari were indeed crispy and well-seasoned with salt and pepper and served with a good cocktail sauce and a spicy aioli. The cheddar biscuits were elevated with a great honey thyme butter. The entrees came out in about 15 minutes and all 6 of us raved about the taste and quality of them. 3 of us had the Halibut with creamy mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Bonnie had a filet with the Oscar topping and roasted cauliflower, perfectly cooked medium rare. One of us had the prime rib French dip and she loved it, without the horseradish sauce. One friend needed to stary lite and had the Caesar salad with shaved parmesan, which he said was perfect and not overdressed. Our final taste of the night was an order of the Warm Butter cake with extra ice cream for dessert. Topped with fresh berries it was the perfect last bite. We will be back and it won't take 3 years this time.

Love this place. They have a great happy hour that goes to 6. I ordered the buffalo cauliflower and…read morethe chicken tacos with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. We sat outside since it was such a nice day. For dessert (no happy hour desserts) was the butter cake. Plenty of parking!

I've been wanting to try out Pearl District for some time. I had heard only good things about it…read moreand it lived up to the hype! It might be my new favorite restaurant in Westlake Village! It's a totally different menu than anywhere else. Unique flavors and textures, a fusion of modern, Mediterranean, Asian and Latin cuisines. Everything we had was delicious. My husband and I shared a baguette with it's yummy chimichurri-ish olive oil, the artichoke dish, shishito peppers, braised short ribs, salt and pepper shrimp (which should be renamed in my opinion because it makes it sound much less than it is!), and the branzino (cooked beautifully with its yummy sauce and squash). For dessert we got the wonder bar. It was rich and delicious. Pretty sweet and sticky though. Next time I'd like to try the chocolate bread pudding instead. Service was on point too. Chuck was super nice and on top of everything. The ambiance was like you're at a restaurant on the west side. Adult vibes, which is nice for those who need a getaway from children things. I totally recommend it and will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu!

After a long day at the office I decided not to cook dinner. Since Sweetgreen, is on my way home and I've been wanting to give them a try so I thought I'd give it a try. What a great decision! I ordered their Harvest Salad (lots of healthy and organic greens and various other veggies, the diced chicken was so "Lip Smacking Good"! Dressing was flavored just right. I love the fact that my server asked how I liked my dressing mixed in the salad (light, slightly heavy or heavy). I went with lightly heavy, it was perfect!). For my drink I ordered their home made, Green Apple and Ginger. Very good as well. Serving size wise, there is enough for two days worth of a meal or for two people to share. Prices were reasonable for organic, fresh & crispy salad. Service was excellent. Dine in our out, it's your choice! Very clean! Location: Conveniently located off the 101 Freeway at Westlake Blvd, in the Promenade shopping center is. Dress casual. Sweetgreen is definitely my new "Go Too" place to get a healthy and filling Organice Salad, or Salad bowels. They have a nice variety to select from. Don't take my word for it! Whether you live in the area or just passing thru, check it out! You will be glad you did!

The salmon is consistently cooked well, the greens are fresh, and everything tastes clean and balanced. It's filling without feeling heavy, which is exactly what I want. I honestly started loving Sweetgreen after seeing Olandria from Love Island talk about it, and now I get the hype. It's simple, nourishing, and easy to rely on when you want real food. The Westlake location has a relaxed outdoor vibe, and service is usually quick and friendly. Perfect for a healthy lunch or post-workout meal.
