Urban Cafe is one of my go to spots to pick up a quick lunch on the go! My favorites are the southwest chicken salad, and pesto, sun-dried tomato, chicken sandwich. I love Urbane Cafe tofu sandwiches! They have tofu banh mi & sweet chili crunch tofu options - awesome for a vegan lite person such as myself. I was in TO for a medical appt and a bit hungry . There was also soooo much traffic on a Friday before Memorial Day, I did not want to sit in it hangry! I absolutely love cilantro chicken salad and when I saw Urbane near the office I was at, I had to stop it. It is always a hit for me. Clean , quick service and I just love the salads. Greta customer service as staff is super friendly at this location. No complaints! read more

Solid 3 stars for the food, but the service was a 5 with a friendly and quick staff! So 4. The food wasn't bad, but it just lacked flavor for me. I ordered the Californian sandwich and added tofu for protein. The artichokes tasted like they were from a can... Maybe switching to artichokes in a glass jar might help? The tofu was cooked nicely, but I wish there was more sun-dried tomato because a little more of that flavor could have improved the sandwich. My husband ordered the pastrami Tri-tip sandwich and he also thought it was just ok. Not bad, but not knock your socks off. I like their menu a lot, so I will give it another try and update my review then. It was a beautiful day, so we sat on the patio which was clean and shaded. read more

I'm a big fan of Urbane cafe. They have large delicious salads and tasty sandwiches. I usually order takeout for lunch during the work week. The home made focaccia bread is what really makes the sandwiches. The menu offers quite a variety so there is still a lot I want to try. The cookies are also melt in your mouth delicious. read more

I dont understand how I've been in TO for over a year now and haven't tried this place until a few weeks ago! I am OBSESSED, any chance I get to eat out, I want to come here- I've gone twice now and planning on coming again this weekend. I get the chimichurri steak sandwich every time, it is so incredible- so flavorful, the textures are perfect, and the price is definitely reasonable for the good-sized sandwich and side salad. Not to mention the employees and owners/managers are very welcoming and helpful with our orders. Absolutely recommend! read more

The food is great and tastes so fresh. And the staff is even better. So warm and friendly. I love coming here!!

Food was pretty decent, besides the fact I'm broke and can only order the sad little kids "pizza". But the pizza was more burnt than springtrap fucking dying in fnaf 3. Yeah I know ball. The service was alright life sucks so who cares. Ambiance was better than I expected. When I walked inside i didn't want too blow my brains out. read more

It's been a long time since I've eaten here, but I remembered it being good and now coming back, it lives up to the memory and expectations. I always get the southwest chicken sandwich and it's so tasty, filling, and fresh. I can't believe this order is $12 bucks - so hard to find a satisfying meal for under $15. This place is still amazing and ordering online makes it so easy. Yum! read more

I know I have written several reviews for Urbane Cafe, but I have to add some more detail details. The food speaks for itself. The freshest ingredients and tastiest combinations. I'm very rigid and order the Baja bowl every time (with some modifications). Jaime makes my meal just how I like it. Always on point. He does it with a smile. Thanks hermano!!! Thank you to the entire Urbane Cafe staff for making such delicious food and being so cordial. The hospitality makes the food taste that much better. read more

Violent food poisoning with ER admission. I ordered the chimichurri steak sandwich around 7pm and it tasted off and had way too much sauce. Sure enough 5 hours later I had food poisoning so badly that I may have died without care. I spent all day ib the ER after several black out episodes . The doc confirmed definite food poisoning as all labs and scans came back clean. I vomitted more times in a 3 hour period than I have in my entire life. So badly that it pulled muscles in my back. It took the entire week to recover. Still not 100% Do. Not. Eat. Here. I am filing a thourough report with health inspectors. read more

Was disgusted to find a course black hair in my salmon bowl upon picking up my order today for lunch. I had already eaten half of the bowl prior to finding the hair attached to the sweet potato and felt so grossed out. I'm disgusted by the thought of what if I ate more hairs I didn't see? I immediately contacted the store to request a refund. Although they said they will refund my order, there was no apology or any sort of caring words offered by the employee I spoke with about this. They need to do better with their food safety. Employees should wear a hair net when prepping food - nasty AF! Won't be coming back read more

I love this location and have been frequenting for years. I trust the staff here. They are always attentive and accommodating. I haven't been to an Urbane Cafe that wasn't good, but this is my favorite. The staff is courteous, professional and honestly, something I would expect from a five star dining establishment. The food is always great and of great quality. The place is clean. Bathrooms too. Love anything with bacon, turkey, feta cheese, that balsamic vinaigrette, avocado, and that delicious fresh focaccia bread. The price of the meals fits what you get, and it's enough food for two. And they are fast! This is one of few places left where I don't question the quality and safe preparation of food. read more

Food is bland, shorts you in the protein despite the price and takes too long. They took 30 min to give a takeout sandwich. The party behind me had 10 people and they received their food before me. The food was good, fresh, nicely served. We sat outside as it was a hot day and a little stuffy and dark inside the restaurant. Unfortunately, there's no escaping that you are right next to the freeway off ramp on one side, and a busy parking lot on the other. That said, there are shady trees, but constant traffic noise. Would definitely order again, but 'to go.' read more

Ok so yes we love Urbane Cafe. There are healthy and tasty choices for everyone no matter what their preferences are. But Urbane Cafe in Thousand Oaks is always a step even higher. Everyone who works there are always so kind and patient. We went as a family tonight and the kids exclaimed, "we haven't visited them in so long!" Recently our Urbane nights have been take out and it was so delightful to finally have a meal out with friendly staff, and quick and yummy food. The restaurant is clean and welcoming too :-) read more

One of my trusted doctors recently suggested a dietary change, and I'm figuring out how to make that work when out at restaurants. Thankfully, Urbane Cafe has so many varied options for its guests. As someone else suggested, they can accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan, and other diet styles. Dear Hubby and I stopped by to have a late lunch. We shared the Golden Turkey seasonal sandwich, holding the pepper jack (drat, dairy-free diet!). It was already prepared with veganaise, so that worked out. Their freshly prepared bread makes their 'wiches a winner. The cashier was very friendly and helpful with questions we had about other menu items before deciding on the Golden Turkey. The Manager on duty was also welcoming and got us sorted out on where the water cups hide for complimentary water. Normally we would have dined outside, but there was a cool breeze in the air. Inside, the air conditioning made it almost as cold as outside. We picked a table with the sun coming in the window, which gave a bit more warmth. We did each enjoy one of their cookies. Likely not vegan, but I'm working up to it. We've been here several times, but I'd forgotten to review until now. It's a solid choice for fast casual dining. Very convenient to the 101, and jumping-off point to get to The Oaks Mall or Janss Marketplace. read more

The interface for ordering online isn't great but the food is good and prices are reasonable

I came here for lunch. When I stepped in the building, the ambiance was a customer friendly/ lunch vibe. The menu was filled with great options to choose from. I ordered the southwest chicken sandwich. The chicken was grilled to perfection and very flavorful. The avocado with the southwest sauce was great. The Brest was toasted to perfection and very soft. The side salad was the perfect combination with the salad. The sandwich all together was delicious and the flavors we're hitting on all levels. The customer service was great and very helpful. I also ordered a chocolate chip and double chocolate cookie. Both cookies were soft and very delicious. This is a great place to have lunch and some items can be a great dinner choice. read more
