Unfortunately, the last two times I went into this restaurant, it had horribly fallen from grace. It was totally different. The familiar people were gone. The new staff seemed cold and disconnected. They were also running a take-out sushi/japanese restaurant out of the same space? Those are two different countries? There were two separate menus and checks? It was so odd. The Thai food was unrecognizable. I even went back again to make sure it was not an off day. The food was like a hamburger helper version of what it used to be. So beyond sad. Pretty good thai in Thousand Oaks. I was pleasantly surprised myself. It came highly recommended so I thought how bad can it be? We arrived and the place was oddly empty for a Saturday night dinner when it should be prime time. The Thai restaurant too offered sushi??? Lastly, the diners did not look to be from Thailand. These were all indicators that things could be a little sus but all in all a great Thai food experience. We did not get the sushi which everyone else was getting so maybe that will be the next thing to try. We tried the pad kee mao and the yellow curry. The flavors were great. The spice level was on point as well. We went with a 4 out of 5 and it was perfectly spicy. The curry was a little muted I'm sure from the coconut milk but the noodles were spicy just how we like them. The only thing I would note is the slower service for not a busy night. I will give them a pass as I did hear that this was a new location since their old location was being demoed. I thought the food was so so. I ordered Panang curry with chicken and the comparable of drunken noodles. The drunken noodles were ok but the panang curry had a weird taste to it. Not sure why. Sort of a strange aftertaste. The quality of the chicken wasn't all that great to me. My friends soup was pretty amazing. Best thing there. I believe it was the Tom Ka. I They are also very generous with their portions. And the service was almost nonexistent. We sat there for quite some time until we flagged someone down. It shouldn't be that way. I'd go back for that soup maybe but that's it. I've had soooo much better Thai food and service. I'd say skip it overall. read more

It was my very favorite restaurant. Service good, ambiance real nice, food was always great. But, after it changed it's name from Exotic Thai, it was the same menu, quality and taste. A few months back, I came in and ordered my favorite dish. It was not the same. Taste was similar but it was far too greasy and salty to ever return and within 30 minutes after I left my stomach was not happy. Great food but service is sometimes a little slow. Still worth the wait. Biggest complaint it their appetizer called Kanom Gui Chai. It is amazing but every time we try to order it they say they don't have it. It's on the menu so why not? Today while ordering over the phone I asked for it and they said they are sold out! Tried this resto since I am in the area. I ordered eggplant with basil and some seafood platter and both were good. I took 2 stars off because the service was slow. The lady that was at the desk took a long time to take our order and it took longer for our food to be delivered. I used to live here long time ago and always loved this place. It's under a new name but still the same great authentic family quality I remembered. We got the pumpkin curry special, the ginger chicken lunch, and the eggplant with tofu lunch special. All were amazingly delicious. When and if you decide to come here Make sure to give their Thai Iced Tea a shot, Boba inside your tea is 100% optional But I say get it! Why the heck not?? Online ordering system accepts orders even on days they are closed. Went all the way to the restaurant at the estimated pick up time only to find out then that the restaurant is closed. Called the restaurant the next day to make sure the order is cancelled and we aren't charged for an order that was never completed. The lady who picked up the phone said she would make sure it is cancelled. Lo and behold, the day after calling, we see a credit card charge notification pop up from this restaurant. How can they charge for an order that they never fulfilled? They engage in dishonest business practices. There are better Thai restaurants in town where I will be eating. read more

Plus, this family-owned business is now all over the land, from Ojai to Woodland Hills...and everywhere in-between. My gf and I ordered only a couple of things: 1) Pad Thai with Chicken [$11, 3.5 stars] -- wasn't how I remembered. Very little in the way of chicken and peanut. Basically, just flavored noodle. 2) Karee Gai (Yellow Curry) with Chicken [$12, 4.5 stars] -- this curry sauce is amazing, and basically, changed my life back in the day. Still love it. If chicken and potato isn't your thing, try one of there other outstanding curries. Conclusion: Truth be told, I have other Thai and/or Thai/Fusion places I frequent, but I'll be back with regularity. Service by the waitress and manager were sweet, humble, and kind.
