First time here.... Cheers to 2025!
Nancy F.

Ordered dinner Christmas Day and picked it up. Our food was ready within 30 minutes. They were pleasant considering they were open on a holiday. It looked like they had been busy when we picked up the food. I love their fried wontons. They packed them well so when we got home they were still crispy.. The restaurant is not big and we have never eaten there as we have only ordered for pick up. The food is delish. I need to eat there one of these days.

Tao is super nice and helpful! Decorations and lighting really bring the whole place together. The food is good. Love their wonton cheese . I will definitely will come back.

First time at Mai Thai Kitchen and it did not disappoint. The flavors came in hot (in a good way), the curry was rich and comforting, and the portions were generous enough to guarantee leftovers. Casual spot, friendly service, and the kind of place that makes you wonder why it took you so long to try it.

- Crab omelette; this is so good! The taste is exactly the same as in Thailand! 10/10 - Dumpling; my fave! It's golden and crisp. It's good! 10/10 - Tofu; yum! The sauce is yum, too! 8/10 - Thai tea; creamy, sweet, and refreshing! 9/10 - Pork BBQ; This one is new and it's so good! The pork is tender, smoky, and the dipping sauce is so good! 10/10 - Mango Sticky Rice; it's ripe and sweet! 8/10 The service was friendly and the food came out hot. Shout out to Chef Thao and JJ! The ambiance is relaxed, clean, simple, and inviting. Definitely coming back! My partner, my friends, and I love coming back here to eat. We highly recommend it!

I got take-out from Mai Thai tonight and my family and I thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. The panang curry with chicken (hot) and drunken noodles with pork (medium) were absolutely delicious. An extra bonus to why we will definitely be returning is because we got to try their Thai iced tea (pictured below) for spending more than $30.

Best and most authentic Thai food I've had in both Thousand Oaks and Newbury. I get a response greeting in Thai, always a great sign. The menu does not have cross over items of Chinese food which is usually a clear indicator of not Thai but Chinese trying to do Thai. Superb authentic curries. No peas and carrots. That is not Thai. Rich, flavorful and spicy range from mild to Bangkok spicy . My personal favorites are chicken satay, Pad See Ew, Tom Kai Gai, Panang Curry and Pad Thai noodles. You can learn a lot about places from 3 of those dishes. My mouth waters thinking about it. I'll be down there soon enough to enjoy their food again! Small place but real authentic and delicious food. They have a definite following of foodies. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere was chill, very family-friendly and casual which is nice. My friend and I went there for lunch on a whim, and the staff was friendly too. A bug accidentally got in my water, so I asked for a new one, and she replace it right away. As for the food, it was really good. My friend got the drunken noodles, and I got the pad thai. Both were really flavourful and not too spicy but still a good amount of spice for me. It was a really great meal, 10/10 would go back if I'm craving Thai food, and we cleared both plates. Also, not pictured, my friend got the Jasmine Green Tea with boba which was really good.

Mai Thai Kitchen is under new management and a new Chef Tao. Their food is Authentic Thai. The atmosphere is very nice. The decorations are traditional Thai. All the food that we ordered was very delicious The waitress Jing was very friendly, nice and so sweet. If you are looking for real Thai food. This is the place for you. We will be back again and again.

Lunch specials every day? Yes please! Mai Thai offers homestyle Thai cuisine in a cozy cafe setting. The menu is extensive, and there are nearly 20 lunch special items available between 11am and 3pm daily. Serious savings to be had! The wife and I both ordered lunch specials - Pad Thai for me and Panang Curry for her. Lunch specials come with a small salad, rice, and an egg roll. The food was decent, though my Pad Thai could've used a little less oil/sauce.The egg rolls were our favorite thing - lightly fried but perfectly crispy. Portion sizes were moderate. Service was friendly. The place wasn't too busy when we came by on a Saturday, so our food came out reasonably quickly. 3.5 stars for the quality of the food, rounded up because we wouldn't mind coming back again. We wouldn't mind trying other things on the menu, though the lunch special prices are hard to resist!

Best thai place in Newbury Park! The place is nice and neat. They give you a good amount of portion, the food is great, and service is always great too. I recommend their drunken noodles, pad thai, and Panang curry!

The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is so caring and friendly, and the atmosphere is very chill. It seems that there is currently some outside remodeling going on, but the restaurant is still open. My husband ordered the red curry with chicken. We agreed that it was delicious. I ordered the Thai Chow Mein and would have definitely asked for another order if I hadn't eaten a whole order of Fresh Rolls by myself lol (I was starving and they came out first, these were only okay in my opinion)! We ordered Sa-te chicken for my toddler, but she was being a little picky today. One of the servers attempted to bribe her to eat her food by promising her a scoop of ice cream. That motivated her to try again, but ultimately she didn't like the chicken. We thought it was delicious though. She still got her ice cream. We were sad to see that our favorite server wasn't working today, but we were still happy with our visit! We always make it a priority to stop by this restaurant anytime we are traveling somewhere near by.

The service is friendly and our waiter was energetic. Ordering was smooth. They did forget to make my Thai tea but it was fine when I reminded the server. Their food is always really good. They have like the best shrimp ever there. Their garlic almond shrimp, basil tofu, and basil fish are my favorites. The texture and taste are perfect. This time I decided to try the Popeye tofu and it was good, but I still like the basil tofu more. I definitely recommend anyone to come over if they like Thai food or just want to try something new!

It even comes with egg rolls and a salad so it is VERY worth it! It's even less than the price of the normal dish! Service is great and it was not too crowded so the ambiance was nice. Smacking and burping, didn't know how to use napkins, passing food around, scraping it onto plates and into boxes, making a mess. The waiter had all the right words but didn't deliver. By the time he checked back with us, we were done eating. Never mind. But the weirdest thing was, when he finally checked back, we asked for a refill of iced tea. He said each of us could have one. ONE refill. Got it? The atmosphere was ok. I wouldn't recommend it for date night, in fact, I wouldn't recommend it at all. There are better places that treat you like an adult and don't attract pigs. In response to the owners comment. The only confusion about the refill situation should solely be placed on the server. We are grownups with a sophisticated background in restaurant patronage. It's hard to misinterpret , "You each can have one." I also don't need a lecture on "different cultures". I've been exposed to different cultures, and I also know low-lifes when I see them. Don't assume there's nothing you can do to mitigate the pig factor. The waiter could have cleared some plates and offered to pack up some food, and brought the check asap. That is, recognize the feed-trough tendencies and expedite their exit.

We ordered the tofu satay and avocado rolls for appetizers. For the main we got the orange chicken, soft tacos, drunken noodles and green beans. Everything was very good. We especially liked the orange chicken. The soft tacos were actually pretty light with lots of lettuce and soy chicken. Would order these two dishes again. The service was very good as well. They came by often to check in on us. They even gave us 2 additional avocado rolls because the initial orders came out a little messy. We didn't even ask. Would highly recommend. Really impressed with this place…read more I was doing deliveries in the area and towed in the word vegan into Yelp and this place popped up. Since it has vegan in the name I definitely had to support this place! I got the satay which I really loved because instead of the highly processed soy it was tofu. And the peanut satay sauce was the best I've ever had. Usually peanut sauce is just peanut butter with tahini or something. But this sauce was on another level. It tasted like it was blended with galangal or something. I also ordered the spicy eggplant which was great because usually Thai restaurants serve it super oily. But this was not oily. It was perfect. The Thai tea was also really good. Not sure what plant milk they used with it but it tasted fresh and unique. I also ordered the broccoli stir fry and the papaya salad which I will eat tomorrow. And from the experience that I've had so far, I know those dishes will be just as good! Also the gal who took my order over the phone was very helpful since I don't eat gluten. She was able to help me with my order.
