I recently visited this restaurant with high hopes, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a series of letdowns. Here are the three things I never thought I would experience at a restaurant: Waitlist Woes: We followed the recommended process and checked in on Yelp's waitlist. However, upon arrival, we had to endure an additional 45-minute wait, well beyond the estimated time provided. The lack of proper communication was frustrating. Mismanagement Mishaps: After patiently waiting and finally moving to second in line, we were shocked to witness three different parties being seated ahead of us. Bewildered, we approached the staff for an explanation, only to be told we had to check in again. The lack of organization and clarity was unacceptable. Disappointing Service and Food: The servers seemed disinterested and barely acknowledged our presence. We had to repeatedly initiate contact for basic requests. My order of steak and eggs, specifically requested medium rare, arrived barely cooked, resembling a rare, purple slab. I did something I'd never do I had to request to cook it more . Regrettably, they burnt it to a well-done state. It was an abysmal culinary experience. Leaving the restaurant, I felt compelled to share my honest feedback. My first negative Yelp review, I found it necessary to recount this particular incident. In conclusion, this was by far the worst service I have ever encountered, and I have no intention of returning to this establishment. I hope that my review serves as constructive criticism for the restaurant to improve their service and prevent others from having a similarly disappointing experience read more

Tryna get seated at the Waikiki locations always seems sort of daunting, so this Ala Moana location was the perfect place to finally try out Eggs 'n Things!! Went for dinner with the bf; I got the $11.95 veggie omelet (spinach, zucchini, cheese, & mushrooms) with a side of potatoes (but I could have picked a pancake or rice instead if I wanted to), and the bf got the $13.45 eggs benedict (also with a choice of side). My omelet was delicious, and the boyfriend definitely liked the eggs benedict. The potatoes we both had were alright, but they were just lightly seasoned potatoes; nothing too amazing. Sadly, we didn't actually try any of the pancakes or waffles...the plan was to try one of the pancake desserts, but we ended up not getting it because our server brought the check too soon and since we had been sort of on the fence about getting more food and didn't want to make him re-do our bill, we just ended up passing. Speaking of service: The host was a little aloof about seating us, but he might have been worried about cashing out a guy who wanted to pay and leave. Our actual server, while nice and friendly, always seemed to be on fast forward or semi in a rush every time he spoke. But I do have to say that it was really cool to see that they take orders on iTouches! Way to be modern guys! I want to go back one day soon for the actual pancakes/waffles...they sounded so good! read more

So good! If you're looking for a delicious, hearty breakfast in Hawaii, this place absolutely delivers! First off, the service was wonderful. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, and we felt right at home. And the portions? MASSIVE. Come hungry, or come prepared to share! The French toast was phenomenal, with a caramelized crisp on the outside and a GENEROUS amount of macadamia nuts. Such a lovely combination of textures! The rainbow pancakes were just as good, LOADED with fresh fruit and whipped cream. They certainly don't skimp on the toppings here! We also tried the eggs Benedict, and the pork was fantastic. So flavorful and tender! My only small complaint was the hollandaise, which seemed slightly split and a little oily. The orange garnish was also a little startling. The flavor was still good, but the texture wasn't quite as smooth and silky as I'd hoped. That minor critique aside, everything was delicious, the portions were incredibly generous, and the hospitality really made the experience. Exactly the kind of breakfast spot that makes you happy you got out of bed. Would absolutely come back! read more

I have frequented this establishment on multiple occasions; however, I must express my disappointment with the lack of professionalism exhibited during our most recent visit. The server who attended to our table appeared unfriendly and unhelpful. We made a simple request for water, but received no response as the server simply walked away. Additionally, despite multiple reminders, our order for a side of spam was overlooked and not served. This lack of attentiveness persisted even when we requested the check from another server who, rather than providing prompt service, expressed displeasure through eye rolling and failed to deliver the check in a timely manner. Furthermore, upon reviewing the bill, we discovered that we were still charged for the missing spam. When we brought this to the attention of our original server and informed her of the situation, her response was dismissive and accompanied by an attitude, asking if we wanted it removed from the bill. In summary, the overall service provided at this establishment fell far short of the expected standards of professionalism. read more

Came in today for Father's Day breakfast because my dad was craving waffles. Arrived at 8 am to a short waitlist and was notified soon after via text. First off, service was excellent, our server was helpful with ordering and checked on us often as he made his rounds. Portions were generous and atmosphere was great. In addition to the waffles, we ordered a fried rice, the omelet special, two coffees and a tea. The only reason I can't give this 5-stars is because of the price. Our meal was $75, and with tip $90. For a special occasion like today, no problem. But would I become a weekly regular? Sorry, no, not for $30 per head. Local people say that this restaurant is for tourists and the pricing definitely reflects this. I would say that these are Waikiki prices... but it's not in Waikiki. I would suggest a Kamaaina discount, or just lower the prices- there's no rule that says every location has to have the same prices. Or maybe we're just not their target customer, which I totally understand as well. read more

I was at Eggs'n Things for Breakfast with my classmates (about 10 persons) and the restaurant was quiet full of people. Nevertheless we got seated after maybe 5 Minutes. The service is very gentil and made a funny ambiente. They tipe your order in kind of a smartphone what is uncommon but seems to work quiet well. We waited for our 10 meals about 10-15 minutes but the waiting was worth it because we got a huge punch of food on the table. I wasn't able to have lunch that day because i just was to filled up with eggs and things ;). Concerning prices we paied 15-20 dollars per person depending on what was individually chosen for drink. You also don't have to care about tip because it's already added to the bill. The restaurant is well made up with lots of warm colours. Overall very good service, food and ambiente. For me it's five stars because that's what I imagine of a breakfast and I got everything I wanted. Nice restaurant, happy people, good food. Awesome! read more

For an established restaurant, the service was absolutely horrible. Although it appeared some of the staff was new, their should not have been a lapse in service. I also happened to overhear staff members in confusion over which person should be servicing which tables. I was told by others they have great food & a friendly atmosphere, but I seriously doubt that. Just a few crumbles of Mac Nuts on top. At the price point, there should be noticeable Mac Nuts! Staff is friendly when you can get there attention. I feel they purposely dont look at guests to keep from getting flagged what would you rate boots in emo the pancake place and pancakes that Mr had perfume that's on it as high for the price down by guests! To me this place was not worth the hype!!

We went shopping at whole foods at Kahala and wanted to enjoy an early dinner, so we asked Chat GPT…read morefor some recommendations and it suggested The Surfing Pig.... So glad it did! The moment that we walked in Ray greeted us with a smile he embodied the Aloha Spirit ...later found out he's the General Manager! The bartender Keone...what a guy! All of his drinks were amazing! We had the Smoking Pig which is a smoked old-fashioned that comes with a piece of BACON! Very easy on the sweetness. We also had the mezcal margarita and the smoked Manhattan... All the drinks were amazing!! If you like your drinks more on the sweet side just let him know and he'll make them sweeter but if you like em boozie and not too sweet he's your guy!! We also got to meet the chef James, he's originally from the west side of the island, so proud of him!! the food was amazing, we loved the dry rub ribs and the Sunday special brisket and the creamy Brussel sprouts as well as their Kalua Pig...bruh the buggah taste like came straight outta da imu! Broke da mouth kine!!! Was one beautiful Sunday that felt like we was wit ohana! We garanz goin be back!!

The worst of the bunch was the pork bolognese bianco. Not only was it lacking flavor, it had a faint rancid taste, so after two bites I was done. The service was ok. The bar tender and hostess were very friendly and welcoming. The server was polite and acceptably attentive. Although the server obviously saw that I barely touched my plate, she did not ask about the untouched food. Hmmm. At the end of the meal, she asked if we needed boxes to go, to which we replied, "yes, one for the loco moco please." This was her final opportunity to gather my feedback and acknowledge my untouched plate, but she missed the opportunity. The ambiance is nice, trendy, and kinda elegant. It's definitely not what you'd expect from the exterior, but it was a nice surprise. Overall, this is a pricy place with friendly staff and an impressive ambiance; however, the food is not noteworthy and definitely not worth the price. Don't get the pork bolognese bianco!

The king salmon was unique, but overall, I found it a little underwhelming, especially for the portion size. I wouldn't recommend ordering the king salmon unless you're looking for a lighter dinner. That said, the service was great from start to finish, from the hostess to our server and busser. Overall, it was a great wine-and-dine experience with beautiful, quiet ambiance. Would def recommend!!

We got guac and chips, chicken nachos, and spinach dip for appetizers. Our server was awesome, coming around to check on us while our night went on. If youre looking for a place open late on Lewers, go to Yard House and have some fun!

Want to eat dinner? No problem. Just drinks...totally fine with them. We've been to other Yard House locations so we knew what to expect. Nothing really stood out...to be honest, except... The area of the bar where we sat smelled like WD-40, yes, the magical spray that can fix almost anything. It was such a turnoff...bleh!

The space is large, open, and bright; there's plenty of seating and a whole wall of windows. They also have outdoor seating on their large lanai overlooking the lawn. We went during happy hour and got a ton of attentive and helpful service. I got a couple of happy hour drinks (half off!). They have happy hour food too, but I ordered off the regular menu as I thought prices were quite reasonable. I had a pina colada $8, draft beer $3.50, and miso butterfish dinner with potato-mac salad, rice, corn, and butter rolls with red jelly $29. The sides were good and the fish was moist, tender, flavorful, and substantial. I took a lot home for leftovers. After I finish my leftovers, I'll be looking for an excuse to go back.

I tried the giant slice of Chantilly Cake and it was just all right. The Chantilly topping wasn't as vibrant as I was expecting. It's a chocolate cake with something like Bavarian Cream between each layer. I'll just stick to the Coco Puffs going forward. Breakfast is average. Probably the best thing is the complimentary butter rolls with cherry jelly. The garlic fried rice, the eggs florentine, the corned beef hash, the cinnamon roll were all average. I wish they had coconut syrup for their pancakes.
