Went here due to reviews but was disappointed. Ordered 2 salads, a soup, and an eggroll sampler. Egg roll sampler was okay, but super greasy. We ordered the Stir fry Chicken Salad and a Thai Basil Salad. These salads were identical except for the chicken which we didn't order on the Thai Basil Salad. They were American salads consisting of mostly lettuce-a HUGE amount of lettuce and a small amount of grape tomatoes, cukes, sprouts, and carrots. The place was cute and the staff was nice, but we will not be returning. It was about $10/person and within a short time we were all hungry. read more

This is my favorite place in Lowell. I come in at least once a week for a vanilla latte or buffalo chicken eggrolls. You wouldn't expect this place to have good espresso drinks but they are really really good!! They are consistent with quality and everyone who works there is super nice. Bubble tea is really good! Would recommend their soups! They have bento boxes, which are well priced. If you're someone who's looking for American Chinese food, then this is the place for you. I absolutely love this place. Im not sure how I found out about them but Im glad I did. Ive tried almost every egg roll on their menu and their bento boxes are to die for, especially the chicken katsu and it helps that the bento boxes are well portioned and priced. You're definitely getting your monies worth. Another thing that I always order is their Bubble Tea, Its well worth it. Very yummy. Especially the Taro slush w/ boba and lychee. Its the best. And you cannot forget the customer service, the people who work there are super friendly and always polite. Oh and how could I almost forget, they deliver! Its a win win. I used to come to Eggrolls all the time when I was studying at UML. Recently, I ordered my typical Eggrolls (Crab Rangoon, Singapore, Samosa) and you can tell the recipe is just different for the Singapore and Samosa. Samosa used to have chunks of potatoes and actually had a kick to it but it was mushy and just not spicy. Singapore was just filled with what seems to be cream cheese flavored curry like and nothing else. The Crab Rangoon sauce had been diluted and it's just watery. Not sure if it's because of COVID but you should never compromise quality IMO. Crab Rangoon was awesome but Singapore, Samosa + sauces was a let down. read more

I LOVE this place! Delicious egg rolls! I tried my first bubble tea at the Eggroll Cafe. Yum! The staff is wonderful: helpful and easy to talk to. We had many conversations about...well, everything! My only gripe is that the portions (on the eggroll plates, anyway) be larger. Other than that, a great place to hang out, grab food, grab coffee or tea (but try the bubble tea!) and relax. The Okinawa chicken bento box is DELICIOUS. So is the mango bubble tea - YUMM. However, the prices are high and the egg rolls, ironically, are mediocre. The food doesn't feel like authentic Japanese cuisine, and I don't think the food is very healthy. Everyone's being pretty loose with their 5 star ratings here. While this is definitely a cool place, the portions are small and pricey, and the meat inside the eggrolls is often undercooked, especially in the cheeseburger or phhilly eggroll. Last time we went we spent over $40 until we felt satisifed, and it typically only takes 1 Cheeseburger from McD's to fill me up. Anyway, the bubble tea is enough of a reason to come here, just don't come hungry. If you want a light snack, bingo. Bubble tea has little tapioca balls in it that are fun to chew while you slurp your beverage. The can do a chilled mlik tea or a frozen slushy tea. Last time in, the kept messing up our tea: first, it was not frozen, though we asked for frozen. second, it was frozen, but no bubbles. the third time they finally got it right, and it was pretty good. it's definitely a well-run, well-organized business. freindly staff will talk to you as much or as little as you want. For this type of cuisine, in the Lowell area, it's probably the brightest, cleanest, safest, nicest place in town. Especially for bubble tea. The best thing they have is Thai Iced Tea, which they mysteriously call EC Tea, so nobody knows they have it. They call it EC for "Eggroll Cafe", because they painted their walls the color of the Thai tea after it's mixed. You say you've never tried Thai Tea? You must make that a top priority in life. It's THAT good. The little desserts are fun to eat, like fried banana eggrolls. Free wifi is nice too, but the parking is terrible. The metered lot around the corner is pretty destitute, and during the day it's usually packed. street parking is "iffy" at best. BONUS: on the corner past the EC, there's a small neighborhood police station. In that building, as a young boy, a certain Jack Kerouac used to live in an apartment on the top floor with his family. Gotta love Lowell. SUPER DOUBLE BONUS: if you go across the street, directly across from the metered lot is a hidden basketball court! With single rims! The Eggroll Cafe is an odd little place. It's literally a place that serves eggrolls (and other foods) in a cafe setting with a fair selection of boba teas and slushies. You order at the counter/register for eat-in or take out. Their seating arrangement is similar to a cafe's. Unfortunately, following the cafe theme, the tables aren't the cleanest. I tried to wipe it down with some napkins, but the grease from fried eggroll crumbs tend to stick. The rolls are alright. They do have a selection and it may be fun to try. We just got their house sample platter, which came with spinach and feta, crab rangoon, soutthwestern, and mormosa. Each has a particular taste and they have a paired dip for each. As for the drinks, the coconut with boba is pretty good. The coconut taste is not too strong and the drink is not overly sweet. I liked it. On the other hand, the raspberry slushy is amazingly sour. I could barely take a sip. I didn't notice much customer service. It was pretty much self-service actually. You order at the counter. You wait around for your drink. You sit down. They bring you the food. You eat it and you put away your wastes. Sure, the guy who brought over our egg roll platter took a moment to point out which roll goes with which dip, but it's not real restaurant service. Cozy cafe with art on the walls. I was here for some bubble tea which was just mediocre. The texture was powdery; but at least it had tea taste to it. The brownie was chewy and tasty frosting. It wasn't too decadent so yummmmm... The restroom is pretty tight. The width is not much more than the the size of the toilet. Oddly, the sink is outside the restroom. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I was told we were going out to Eggroll Cafe for lunch, but when I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. Lowell, I didn't think you had it in you. The decor definitely was the first thing that won me over. Laid back, but swanky, definitely more of a cafe feel than a post-Asian restaurant. Most two-person round tables, with a low-slung couch and clean lines all around. The food, although slightly on the pricey side, is a significant step up from the other lackluster options in the area, and I like that the bento boxes come as a full meal, not just entree. Predictably, I hear the egg rolls are not filling, so steer to one of the more substantial offerings if you're looking for a real lunch (or dinner, I suppose, although the place feels much more like a lunch venue to me). My Mala Tofu was delicious and the perfect size for lunch, and I'll definitely be back to pick at the rest of the menu. Part of me is sad I only work in Lowell, so will probably never get to take advantage of their decent beer/sake menu, or advertised live music, both of which sound like a good way to spend an evening, or that I'm not a student there, and won't spend hours sipping away at the surprisingly-good coffee and pecking on a laptop between classes. A final note on the stars: the cafe definitely gets a handicap for location. If I came across the same place in Cambridge or Somerville, I'm sure I would have harsher standards to hold it to, but up against a Dunkin Donuts and a pretty standard pizza/sub shop, it shines pretty brightly. read more

The creativity in these eggrolls make this a unique restaurant, yet the flaws in its service rendered it a lower rating. I went with my friend and sister. I arrived fifteen minutes earlier than my friend and I ordered an order of crab rangoon, buffalo chicken, and steak and cheese eggrolls for my sister and I. It was MORE than satisfying. They were incredibly good and I do intend to go back and try more. They were served to us within about twenty minutes. my friend however had a horribly different experience. She had ordered crab rangoon eggrolls and chicken ones. She waited for about thirty minutes before asking the server what the wait was for. It turns out they had given her order to someone else. They apologized and told her they would make her another order. We waited for an additional twenty minutes for the new order. They also did not offer her a refund or a way to make up for their fault. while we waited for my friends eggrolls I ordered a bubble juice. The juice was good but the bobas were not popping bobas and were gummy, which I did not enjoy or anticipate (one shot to the back of my throat). The atmosphere is very relaxed and small cafe feeling. A problem I noticed was the cramped quarters. A party of five came in and immediately I felt crowded. As far as service, I would say that it scored a 2 out of 5. So after hearing about the awesomeness of EC I finally made it out to try it today. I highly recommend the veggie and classic rolls...super delicious! The passion fruit bubble tea was amazing! at first i felt like it tasted perfumey but then i grew to really enjoy it. and i might just stick with the eggroll cafe just to have their bubble tea because its hard to find in the suburbs. All in all the decor could be nicer and the arrangement of tables and chairs could be better too...And i would have liked if they kept the kitchen closed off with a door or a sheet or something..but its not a bad place to grab a quick snack or some awesome bubble tea read more

Been here a few times I like the place next to Umass Lowell. Parking is harder then getting into Harvard University. There's a fairly large parking lot but the restaurant makes no mention of it. Try all the different kinds of rolls they offer. Prices is decent and not going to put a whole in your pocket. Staff is always nice and make you feel welcomed. Let me start by saying I really love the food here. The egg rolls are great - we love ordering a platter and having different options. The reason for only 1 star? I called tonight (Saturday, May 10th) to place an order for delivery. I was told they were not delivering tonight - if this was the first time this had happened I would have probably overlooked it as a fluke, but this is the third time in the last few months that they haven't been able to deliver during their normal hours listed online. I'm not quite sure how they can get away with not offering a service they advertise on such a regular basis - especially on a Saturday night. We order from a lot of the local restaurants that offer delivery frequently - this is the only one we have a problem with. Will I try again? I have lived in Lowell for over 8 years and this place has been here the entire time. It is one of me and my husbands favorite places to go and order takeout from. The atmosphere is wonderful, everyone is super nice, I dont think I have ever met a scowl or an unfriendly person at Eggroll Cafe. Since I have been coming here for so long I hav eprobably tried just about everything, I am not a fan of Bubble tea in general but my husbands loves them and always gets the EC Bubble Tea. I usually stick to the iced teas and coffees (both hot and iced YUM)The eggrolls are superb, and the flavors mesh really well together with the sauces. The chicken fried rice is lovely, and I absolutely love the Chicken Curry Stew they have. I continue to go back here, I continue to order more than I can eat, and I continue to LOVE the food here. Not only are you getting great service, a chill place to hang and eat, you also get to enjoy a variety of art that they hang on these walls. I know the trek out to Lowell may seem far if you live in Boston, but it is worth every mile of your drive. Their Samosa eggrolls are to kill for, their curry chicken one is a burst of flavors in your mouth. And their chicken Basil is basically an amazing bite that you are gonna order some more. The eggroll flavors here are well blended together, fresh, with a nice crispy outer layer. If you aren't in the mood for Eggrolls for whatever reason(sad really) they have other things. Their chicken curry soup is curry-isly delicious. You take one bite and you are curious for more, and before you know it you are done. So if you want to eat here, yeah do IT. I ordered food online to take out. The place is small, not good for a family to come and eat. I got an eggroll platter with Crab Rangoon, Buffalo, and Classic eggrolls. I also got chicken fried rice, and a strawberry milk bubble tea. The drink was amazing! Smooth, sweet, and I love boba. The chicken fried rice lacked a lot of flavor, and you can tell just by the color of it as well, it was kinda pale. The eggrolls were good! The Buffalo was for the SO, so I didn't get to try any. Crab Rangoon tastes just like your average crab rangoon, just in an eggroll. The classic was good, similar to a Cambodian eggroll but it had a lot of jicama in it. Just ate there for lunch, looking for a different somewhat cheap place to eat, and was impressed. you order at the counter and they bring everything to you, throw out your own trash, etc. some people may not like this typical cafe style, but i personally like the not rushed, eat at your own pace, sit and have a good conversation with a friend type of atmosphere this style allows for. I ordered the Eggroll Salad, which is an asian greens salad with your choice of one order of eggrolls, i got the samosa. It was served with a delicious peanut dressing, very similar to a salad you may find at any asian food restaurant. The greens were super crisp and fresh, and the samosa paired perfectly with the flavors, and was very crispy, i even ended up dipping my eggroll in the dressing. DEFINITELY recommend the salad, I am a big eater and went in starving, and it filled me up. At 6.50 this was a great bargain to me, and made me feel less guilty about eating fried eggrolls for lunch. I also got a side order of spinach and cheese (which I only had room to eat one of and brought the other home), great flavor, very similar to a spanakopita filling, a lot of dill in there which i love. also lots of spinach and not too much cheese, and a very crispy outside. I also got a mango iced tea, very sweet but delicious, and you got a hint of bitter tea flavor at the end. really great mango flavor My boyfriend got a few of the meat eggrolls, which he liked a lot. I've been going here for years, and they have decent coffee and bubble shakes. My favorite is their iced Irish cream coffee, it is delicious! They also have decent egg rolls but I feel like their ingredients has changed in certain egg rolls, the quality is not same as it was before.
