Yummy breakfast spot! We ordered online so that we didn't have to wait for our food, which was ready by the time we got to the cafe. There wasn't much interaction with the staff besides them handing our food to us, but they seemed nice. It's small inside but there is some seating available both inside and around the plaza. I ordered the Chic sandwich. The fried chicken was HUGE and bigger than the sandwich itself. It was crispy and sorta tasted like Taiwanese popcorn chicken but was a little more bland. The chili powder seasoning gave the chicken more flavor. The egg was runny and complemented the chicken well, giving the sandwich more taste. The arugula was fresh but I wished there was more. Spicy mayo was a good addition to the sandwich, making it less dry. The bun was warm and soft. I didn't even get to finish my sandwich because it was so filling. I love how it comes in a glass it was full of flavor and the running egg with mashed potatoes was craving i couldn't get enough off. I feel like chicken sandwiches are on the rise lately, especially fried chicken sandwiches. While there seem to be a ton of Nashville fried chicken sandwiches, Egghead Sando provides something a little different with a more Taiwanese twist. LOGISTICS Located in Rivermark Plaza... there is plenty of parking available. The lot behind them tends to be the least busiest (vs the lots in front of the stores or Safeway), so I recommend heading there to park. Docking a star because if you come in person to order a sandwich... it takes a long time for them to complete your order. Like 15-20 min on a busy day; this isn't really a fast food joint and they get backed up during lunch hours. I highly recommend placing an order online beforehand regardless of whether you do take-out or eat in (there isn't a difference in packaging, just whether or not they put it in a bag). In-door seating is also very limited, so regardless I would recommend getting it to-go and eating it outside. FOOD Chic Sandwich: Really good and probably one of my favorite styles of chicken sandwich. The fried chicken is more like the crispy Taiwanese chicken cutlets you'd get as street food. The chicken is moist inside and very flavorful, while the breading is crispy and has a bit of spice on it. It's not at all spicy but it gives a pleasant kick and flavor that's just right. It works really well with the runny sunny side up egg, peppery arugula, and whatever sauce they put on there. The bun is like an egg brioche bun, soft but also sturdy enough to hold up the sandwich. With the carb and veggies, it feels more like a complete meal compared to eating a straight up Taiwanese chicken cutlet, and it's in sandwich form! Waffle Fries: For waffle fries, these are good. Very crispy. Not much to say - but 1 order is probably enough to share with another person if you're both getting sandwiches. I've only ever had the chicken sandwich and fries, I have yet to try their drink specials, like their matcha fruit, milk tea, or horchata drinks. OVERALL Sandwiches run under $13 with no sides included ; however, they are pretty filling and the chicken sandwiches are more bang for the buck with how tasty their chicken is. My partners had the Side Chic with grilled chicken and bacon, and he really enjoyed that version as well. For the price, I think the quality makes it fair... and it's a complete meal between carb, protein, and some veggies. A little more satisfying that getting a burger at some places nearby. At first glance the inside of the cafe is very pleasing to the eyes. They have a minimalistic feel to it with a very clean aesthetic. They do have limited seating and the tables are very small so if you plan to dine in with a huge party that might be an issue. The menu isn't too big with only a couple egg sandwiches to choose from but their drink menu is pretty big with plenty of different drinks. I ended up ordering the ultimate sando and the strawberry hojicha latte. The sando was pretty decent although I wish the sandwich was served hotter as it was on the cold side which was a little unpleasant. The sausage was very juicy and flavorful, the pepper jack cheese gave the sandwich a little kick. I love the chives and caramel onions which give the sandwich more depth in flavor. I ended up reheating it in the microwave when I got home and it definitely tasted better warmed. The strawberry hojicha latte was something that was a new drink to me. This location has very limited seating, with only 2 tables large enough for groups of 4. My options were limited because I don't like scrambled eggs and try to avoid fried chicken. I ordered the side chic, which is grilled. It had a lot of content but was kind of hard to eat because it was falling apart. We also split an order of fries, which were okay. This is the kind of fast food I'd eat every day. Please come open up in Sacramento! Stopped in for lunch last weekend on our foodie day trip and it was the best food of the day. The food and drinks came out in 10 minutes. They have seating inside but the weather was beautiful and they have even more tables outdoors. I had the Scramble sandwich and it was so delicious. I'm not even a scrambled egg person and I loved it. The grilled onions and spicy mayo really made this sandwich next level! My husband's Hawaiian Morning sandwich was also super good with the over medium egg and the Spam, but I would've preferred the spicy mayo with it and also if the Spam was cooked a bit longer. Just a heads up the descriptions are not listed on the menu behind the register, but you can find them on the paper menu on the counter. We didn't need coffee but couldn't resist their drink menu. I've never had hojicha with strawberry before but I think it's the only way I want it from now on! The fresh strawberry added a nice sweetness but you could still taste the roasted flavor from the hojicha. Yum! We came here after we got a craving for a good breakfast sandwich and I was excited to see the fluffy egg sandos here. We ordered online beforehand which seems like the right move as the interior is small with only a couple tables and then there are some outdoor tables as well. We got the ultimate egg sando with sausage, avocado and fluffy egg and the Chic fried chicken sandwich with an over-medium egg. The highlight was definitely the fluffy egg which was creamy and well seasoned and made the sandwich really shine. I've had this before in Cupertino and wasn't that impressed by the sandos then, but I did really like their hojicha latte. This recent visit surprised me because the chicken sandwich was actually really good! It's juicy and flavorful and has my favorite arugula. The hojicha latte here is my all time favorite though. I've tried other hojicha lattes but they're either too grainy, too rich, too sweet, too bland, or too not creamy. This one is the perfect balance between rich hojicha flavor and milky creaminess that isn't too heavy like Matcha Cafe Maiko's, which I also love but is just too much sometimes. The waffle fries were also great! They are super crispy and not exactly overcooked like one reviewer said. These may have less mushy potato on the inside but still a good fry, though I would've preferred a bit more potato. My bf says they are cooked to perfection. When you go in you order on a kiosk. Have been here a couple times and have never been wowed. The food is ok, maybe even good sometimes, and I appreciate a focused menu, but the prices are insane. The cheapest add-on is $1. Most recently I got the breakfast sando, a small dried out square of spam with not even a whole fried egg on it. More annoying is the long wait times, and they offer boba in your $7 drink but w/o straws. Really subpar as far as a restaurant goes, just make a sando at home for half the cost. read more

Sandwiches are good and unique. Had an issue with a staff today, normally everyone here is always nice. I subbed the Hawaiian with scrabbled eggs. Apparently I was "suppose to pay" for that upgrade. I didn't know, she tried to charge me after the sandwich was made and I said it's fine with the egg it comes with then I don't mind. She got mad and gave me attitude because she had to remake it. Then I asked for extra sauce and said she was gonna charge me. They never charged me before and I've never seen them charge anyone else when asked. It made me feel discriminated against. It's also great to grab for on the go. I've had the B.E.C. (Bacon, egg, & cheese) sandwich and the side chic and thoroughly enjoyed both! The B.E.C. has everything I like in a good breakfast sandwich and for something so simple, was executed just right in terms of ratio of all the ingredients. The side chic was a pleasant surprise as well. I wanted something a bit lighter when I tried this so opted for this as it has grilled chicken and it was so good. It was also really filling. I do want to come back and try their fried chicken sando though because I've heard great things. They also serve drinks as well from coffees to teas to enjoy with your food. In terms of service, I felt like the food came out in a pretty timely manner. There was a line for the kiosk when we went and we had a pretty large group but we didn't wait too long for our food and each person in our own group got their orders pretty close together so I'd say they are efficient. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Was torn between Hawaiian Morning or Eggy. Decided to try the Hawaiian first. The sandwich has a homey fresh taste to it. A good meal to start the day. I like the brioche bun. The meat is just spam, but they cooked it properly, and it's not dry. The sauce has a nice punch to it, mayo and ketchup with a little spice. Egg is cooked the way I like it, yolk still soft and oozing when you bite it. The prices ($9 - $13) are a bit higher compared to other on-the-go breakfast sandwich alternatives, but it can be a nice fresh treat if you want something in between fast food and gourmet. The wait is awful! I ordered for pick up prior to them opening. Pick up was at 8:15am. The order say ready at 8:15am. I had to wait and pick up my food at 8:35am, which is just a waste of time trying to preorder your food for pick up. There excuse was that the cook doesn't start to 8:10am. Why would you take orders if you don't have anyone to cook it? Also, people who came in after me, got their food before I did. You get a receipt with your order number on it, but they don't give you anything to let you know when the order is ready, even though they do have restaurant pagers (the coaster that rings when your order is ready) available. There's not a ton of seating inside, so many people wait outside for their orders. Giving guests pagers allows them to know when their order is ready instead of having to go in and out and checking with staff. We ordered in person at 11:16AM on a Sunday and got our food at 12:03PM. Food: 3.5/5 Service aside, the food was good. The ultimate sando was juicy and the perfect breakfast fix, but the Chic was the star of the show. The Chic was crunchy, juicy and nicely seasoned. There is no service here. Make sure you go to the counter to check on your order because they will not be telling you your food is ready (online order). I came in early to get my online order. The male employee checked and said they are working on it. I sat down and waited 20 min. Went up to to counter made eye contact with the rep and she just ignored me. I had to say excuse me for her to acknowledge me. And my food has been done the whole entire time. Everything is self serve. Even checking on when your food is ready. It's not a cheep spot too with sandwiches averaging $14. I'm fine with self serve locations, but if you are going to do this, have a system in place to inform guest their food is ready. My online order status showed "in progress" and never changed on my phone. The employees are clearly just focused on making the food. The quality of the food is there, you just need to work out a better system where guests can check on their order without having to rely on the employees (who again are only focused on making food and nothing else). I have been passing by this place so many times but was too late usually as it closes at 2pm, and finally I made it and it was absolutely worth it.
