Delicious food and great service. Everyone was nice as was our waitress, Matea. My first time. Wifee was there before.
Food *** Solid but nothing too special. Service *** We were one of about 4 tables. Service could have been a bit quicker. Server had a bit of an attitude. Ambiance **** Modern Price:Value *** Prices for single pancake, single La-La French Toast and P.O.G. juice were pretty high.
This place was pretty good and offered a nice change of pace from the busy, touristy atmosphere of Waikiki. The restaurant has a cool industrial-grunge ambiance, with a casual, slightly edgy feel that made for a relaxed dining experience. We did have our server switched on us for some reason shortly after we were seated, which was a little odd and somewhat confusing. Aside from that, the service was fine. I ordered the Birria Burrito and an Affogato. The Affogato was particularly enjoyable--smooth, creamy, and well-balanced without the bitterness that can sometimes overpower the espresso. It was a nice way to finish the meal. The Birria Burrito was a welcome change from the more typical breakfast choices like bacon or sausage. The savory, slow-cooked birria added plenty of flavor, and the honey hot sauce was a surprisingly nice pairing, bringing a touch of sweetness along with some heat. My spouse had the Strawberry Mango Smoothie, which was bright, fruity, and pleasantly tangy. The omelette was nicely prepared, although it was a little bland for our taste. We ended up asking for some salt to give it a bit more flavor. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. Between the interesting menu, the industrial-grunge atmosphere, and the change of scenery from Waikiki, it was a nice experience. We'd definitely consider coming back.
Lovely and friendly cafe, full of aloha! Our first time there, as we live on another island - Kaua'i. Big menu with lots of choices! She choose a soy milk decaf latte, which came with aloha written on the foam! Wow!! See photo. I ordered a ying yang drink - half coffee and half tea. New selection for me. It was great! She ordered a breakfast salad - which was fabulous! Diced purple potatoes and diced avocados. She loved it. See photo. I ordered green onion crepe. New to me! And, you guess it - fabulous. Note: this was also our second breakfast of the day. You know it's a great day when you have two breakfasts!! Staff were awesome and engaging. Baristas were also great. Highly recommended!! Aloha!
Tried this place for the first time on a weekday. I arrived at 9:15 am ahead of my guests. There was no wait, and they let me be seated. The place was filled with mostly locals. However, a few tourists seemed to find their way to the restaurant. The service and food are great. They have a wide variety of your normal breakfast items, but they have a secret menu item for the day and a lot of variations on coffees, teas, and menu items. This place is great for breakfast or brunch. The pork belly Benedict is amazing. My guests had omelette. Everything is freshly prepared. There is plenty of free parking. However, access is slightly difficult with the construction for the rail on Dillingham Blvd. I highly recommend this place.
It's been years since I've been to Humpty Dumpty's Cafe and I'm pretty sure it will be many years before I return again. On my most recent visit, the food was not good at all. I got the pork belly bowl, with extra pork, and a boom boom chicken. First, the pork belly bowl did not appeal to my belly. It was greasy AF and the pork had way more fat than I remember. The meat was weird--it reminded me of beef stew beef when it's been overcooked. It becomes strangely soft to where it is no longer desirable to eat. This phenomenon is something you need to experience to understand. Kind of like picking up a cat by its tail. I absolutely do not condone picking up a cat by its tail, even for educational purposes. Second, the boom boom chicken was overcooked. It didn't look burnt on the outside, but the bird meat was really tough like it was in the fryer for too long (or too many times). Sadly, I didn't finish either item and just put them in the fridge to be forgotten about until the next fridge cleaning/purge. It's too bad, when I first visited this place long ago, the food was so good. Not sure what happened to cause the fall from greatness.
Egghead Cafe always seems to be our go-to spot for a girls' outing! The food is always delicious, but the tiramisu latte is seriously one of the BEST lattes out there. Somehow, we keep ending up with Mateya as our waitress, and we're so glad we do! She is AMAZING and gives us the best customer service every single time. She's always so friendly, attentive, and makes our visits even better. We'll be back for sure!
EGGSELLENT!!! Quick and friendly service and the food was amazing. Also these pancakes were so fluffy and delicious.
As always, great service, great food! I came here after a hike and since it was a weekday, I was able to try one of the weekday-only items, the birria burrito. OMG it's my new favorite. It comes with a small side of hot honey dipping sauce and a small side of birria to dip your burrito in, and it is amazing. I split this with my husband and he got the chorizo burrito, which was good, but honestly, I wish I had ended on my half of the birria burrito because it was so good. I got a Vietnamese coffee with tiramisu cream on top (+$1.75) and it was delicious--the bitterness of the coffee contrasts perfectly with the tiramisu foam on top. Love it. Perfect place to come for breakfast or brunch.
This is my second time dining at this place and I've enjoyed the food I've tried so far! During my first visit, I tried their Prosciutto & Avocado toast the first time, then the Pork Belly Bowl the second time! The tapatio sauce is great in the pork belly bowl if you want some little heat in it. I really enjoy their iced coffee that I ended ordering a second glass of the Bebbeh Girl iced coffee. I haven't tried the others yet but I will come back again to try something new. The ambiance here is a vibe! Very friendly and a nice environment to eat in. The staff is friendly and attentive as well!
Such a jewel of a restaurant in Hawaii. Has the best breakfast in town with ample of sitting. The place screams local with a bit of elevation in ambiance. The people are friendly and attentive. I highly recommend to couples and family!!
Went to Egghead Cafe with my Sis to start our day. This place is a treasure in Kalihi. We ordered the Chorizo Omelette and Pork Belly Benedict, and a single classic French toast to share. So delicious! This place serves elevated local favorites. Local touches mixed with modern ambiance. The service is friendly and attentive.
This is a great post workout breakfast spot! If you're ever craving eggs and meat and you're in Kalihi, this is the place to go. Very attentive staff and the food is always delicious and filling. Parking is pretty much standard strip mall parking. Highly recommend.

Well what I can say about this place. Was reading yelps reviews and lots of people was pretty hipe up about it. To me its more for the younger generation. Lots of things I really didn't care for on the menu. But I'm a pancake person who will try to go all over to try pancakes so this place I did. Well it was not thin and fluffy was alittle on the heavy side. The taste was not to my liking. I had side order of pork links and to me was salty. My brother had eggs Benedict he said was ok. My husband had a california omelet was ok but hes eggs were overly done. All in all the service was good brought the menus and water and food came out within alittle over 20 mins or so. Lots of people comes here and eat breakfast or maybe lunch. At least I tried them. You need to scan on the QR code outside for how many people in your party like putting you on a waitlist for a table. read more
Great breakfast place with so many unique dishes from flight of pancakes, Mexican breakfast dishes during the weekday, Taiwanese dishes for those may want something different than regular breakfast items. I came before and like the boom boom Chicken and green onion pancakes. Something similar as Fooki because of the same owner. This time we shared the boom boom chicken and peanut butter French toast. Something sweet and savory. I liked the chicken because the spices and crunchiness of the chicken. Deep fried items are always yummy with peanut butter inside. As a table we got a lucky red envelope for spending $25 per table. We let one of our friend to pick the red envelope since she really wanted the red envelope and it was one per table and no more than 2 separate checks. When restaurants allow for separate checks, it plus for everyone and helps in our decision to dine there. Not everyone carries a lot of cash and if not, they will not order as freely. Mateya was on it in serving us and make sure we were taken care of . We were a little late, but thanks to our dear friend for getting the table early. Nice get together on a cold day! read more

Had such a great time grabbing breakfast with a friend. We split the birria and pork belly breakfast burrito--everything was super flavorful and hit the spot. The burrito was hearty, the birria was rich and comforting, and the pork belly was perfectly cooked. I did prefer the birria. The ambiance is more chill on the weekdays than the weekends and in case you wanted to try the birria or pork belly burrito, they are only available on the weekdays. We also had some really yummy lattes. Definitely a breakfast spot that turns into a really memorable hangout. Would happily come back! read more
The restaurant has two sides, one with seated service and another for self service. We chose the self service side where you order at the register, the other side had a wait so it was a no brainer for us since tables were available on the self service side. The food was ready so quick and service was friendly. For drinks, we ordered a taro latte and salted caramel latte, both iced. I ordered the green onion pancake roll which has egg inside and a dipping sauce. It was great and just the right amount of food. My sister got the vegetarian omelette which was delicious, especially the bread. My daughter got the pancake trio which was nice because it lets you try three different flavors when you can't decide. Lots of parking makes it easy. read more

Jeremy, mahalo for the awesome review! The Pork Belly Benedict…
Egghead cafe is one of my favorite brunch spots in Oahu! Everything from the chill waitstaff to the good food makes it's an overall great experience. Their sesame frappe was to die for and had the perfect balance of nuttiness and creaminess. I enjoyed the consistency of it and it was a hefty serving. My to go dish to get here is always the fried pork chop plate. The pork chop is well seasoned and perfectly crispy yet juicy. It's heavy and honestly the serving size can feed two people. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who is looking for a good brunch spot in Oahu. read more

I've been to this restaurant once before to dine in, but this time I went to take out. There are two entrances: the door on the right is to the cafe/takeout area and the door on the left is to the restaurant. Upon entry, you're greeted by the employees. There is seating on the cafe side, a big table located to the back of the area and smaller, round tables towards the front. There is a clear case that hold some pastries. You order at the counter and pick up drink in the same area. I order most of the food based on employee recommendations. Lol. I was indecisive! I must say every thing was amazing! I did order some food (pork bao and cinnamon French toast) for my friends, but didn't get pictures of it. The order was up pretty quickly and I was outta there! There was no line in the takeout area, but about three parties waiting for the restaurant side. If you haven't gone, the pancakes are large AND fluffy! So good! The shrimp and bacon omelette was also very tasty- the hollandaise sauce- perfection and the sweet potato fries... paired well. The passion fruit tea was soooooo delicious! I'll definitely go back there again and you should try it if you're ever in the area. read more

My friend and I used yelp to find this place and it's quickly becoming one of my favorites! There are plenty of options for all. The first time we were here, it was a Sunday and a little bit of a wait but we could see why. We ordered pancakes and French toast. Both were delicious. The next time I came back, I ordered the Birria burrito, a friend grabbed an omelette, and another French toast. All was delicious and we added sweet potato fries for the table. They were the perfect saltiness. The tiramisu latte and passion fruit iced tea were also good. They have a waitlist where you can scan a code and see how long your estimated wait time is and to get on the list. The inside is cute and well decorated. It can accommodate reasonable sized parties likely up to 8+ with some of their longer tables. I will 100% be back and recommend. Super cute and everything so far has been delicious. Staff is friendly as well! read more

2/1/26 "So Funny!" Food Runner kept on bringing us someone else's breakfast Once before our meal then again after we ate She actually bussed our plates too I should have accepted the waffle fries, that looked n smelt Ono, since she kept trying to feed us Had a bite of Spinach Mushroom Omelette it was cheesy, juicy n tasty My Chorizo Brekky w Sunny side up eggs n all veggies was a tasty good meal I liked that the chorizo wasn't dry n had some heat to it Gonna try the Cheesy Chorizo Scrambled Eggs Burrito, next, but it's only offered Tuesday-Friday... looks huge Will be back read more
Went on a Tuesday morning and there was no wait! It's been at least a year since the last time I ate here and the menu is more extensive than before. They even had holiday themed lattes! Their seating looks a little different too but it's still cozy and welcoming. This time I tried the Chorizo breakfast burrito and we got the Boom Boom chicken plate. The chicken is so crispy and both of the sauce options are really good. We also had their sweet potato fries with lihing mui powder which was different in a good way! The server was also very nice and friendly. She also checked on us multiple times to make sure we didn't need anything. read more

French Bread Benedict. It doesn't sound appealing. It doesn't sound right. But you'll never know if you don't try, right? Egghead Cafe might be the only breakfast restaurant to serve Eggs Benedict with French bread instead of the usual English muffin, and it works! This place is located in the Kapalama Shopping Center along with Wingstop, Elvin's Bakery, and etc. There's a decent amount of parking. Just getting here is rough and tumble. The inside is not very big and a little tight, so it can get busy. Good thing is you can join a waitlist online and check your position in line and wait time. Started with the Pork Belly Benedict. The pork belly was similar to the Chinese Style Braised Pork Belly. The taste was fine. I just found the meat to be tough, chewy, and stringy, and the fat was not rendered enough. The eggs were a little over and did not have a runny yolk. Hollandaise sauce was on the light side or just needed more sauce. The star of this was the French bread. Toasty, buttery, tasty with a very nice crispy on both sides, and a soft inside. It comes with a mixed green salad as well. OK. The Crab Omelette was good--or should I say, half of it was good. You have a choice of country bread, toast, or white rice, and mixed green salad. I started to eat from the left side and it was packed with crab. Then it became less and less till the 2nd half of the omelette basically had no crab. The Romesco sauce really saved the omelette as the egg and crab was under seasoned, and even more so with the crab meat clumped together. The meat also had a slight taste that it wasn't thawed long enough. Overall, everything was okay. French bread and the romesco sauce were excellent. Just a lot of small issues with everything else that could've been/could be better the next time around. Service was solid. Super friendly and attentive servers. I don't feel there are too many different options to choose from for a breakfast place. It's essentially omelette, eggs, benedict with xxx meat and sandwiches for savory items. The prices defintely seem to be on the high side in comparison to other breakfast places and what's being offered. I'm getting the tourist pricing feel! Oh well. read more

Great place for brunch. We came by on Saturday noon and got seated immediately. Service was prompt and friendly. Drinks are great: excellent cappuccino and good quality coffee. I finally found my favorite breakfast & brunch place! Both of food and service are beyond my expectations and literally surprised me! We tried their signature dishes, pork belly bowl, boom boom chicken, and green onion pancake! None of them will disappoint you! I love Taiwanese foods and first bite of pork belly reminded me of my trip to Taiwan! Chicken is crispy and good amount of portion! So many drink options as well. We ordered strawberry smoothie and hazelnut latte, both are so good! I want to try their seasonal special drinks! I took my 2 years old daughter, and all the setups for kids are better than any other places I've been to. High chair, kids plate and utensils, plastic cup with lid and straw, drawing pad, and stickers! I will definitely take my friends and family here next time. Thank you Carrie and all the friendly and professional staffs over there. You guys made my day will be back soon!! Ok read more

Overall good experience! Food was good, service was great, nice and lively ambiance. I love how they can do smaller portion on a lot of items for half the price, making it easier to sample more items off the menu! Husband and I came here for brunch on a Sunday, and we ordered couple items to try for our first time. Egg benny is my jam, and I just always end up judging a new spot by their egg benny... so we got their real crab egg benny, chocolate banana French toast (small), real crab omelette and a crème brûlée latte. The benny eggs were cooked perfectly. The crab cake was made of real crab but something about the taste and the texture being a little off. Not sure what that was. What I didn't like was the bread at the bottom. I'm not a fan of sourdough. And the bread wasn't incorporated into the whole dish. It's like eggs with sauce and crab cake sitting on top of 3 pieces of French sourdough bread. I don't know. It's just a little strange to me. I ended up eating everything on the plate except the bread. The French toast was thoroughly enjoyed by my husband who always has a sweet tooth for breakfast. But strangely he also ordered the real crab omelette. I think he ordered that for me perhaps because I mentioned I wanted to try it too. :-P so I did try it, and I gotta say it tasted pretty good. (I normally don't order omelette coz I can make a pretty good one myself at home.) I liked the cheese they put on top! Also loved their criss cut fries. So good. (Extra $3.50) The chocolate banana French toast thing was devoured in less than 5 mins. It's savory and sweet at the same time. Hubby said he should've ordered the full portion haha! Their Vietnamese coffee was a bit too sweet and just didn't taste right. Not a fan. Finally, the item I enjoyed the most was actually the tiramisu latte. I normally don't drink coffee, but I just felt like getting one that day, and this one that I tried was goooood. Well-balanced flavor with tiramisu that I could taste. Service was great. Very friendly server and she also offered as pepper, hot sauce, etc. normally I always have to flag someone down for it. The value was meh. We ended up spending $100 for 2 people for breakfast and nothing I had was extraordinary. Don't get me wrong, it tasted good, but I'm just not sure if it's worth dropping $50 pp for it b There's a waitlist you can join by scanning the QR code at the door. Plenty of parking in the lot - same lot as ahi & vegetables in kalihi. Is it worth the wait? It depends who you ask! Our wait was 35 minute long for 2 people. There's an Asian supermarket behind the block to kill time, I suppose. read more

This is our 2nd time here! It's that good that we came back when I returned from my vacation. Yup, the first time was about 5 weeks ago before we flew out. I came across this place with the help of Yelp. The road work on Dillingham that's been ongoing since 3, 4 or maybe even 5 years ago is not going to stop us from coming back here. It's a small, cute cafe. As we walked in, we were greeted with the same person who sat us the last time, Jay. Only this time, we were seated by another staff, Tasha. We came back a second time to eat the same thing we had the first time. Yup, it's that good that we got seconds within 5 weeks! It would have been soon but again, we were out of the county. He has Favorite Brekky with 2 scrambled eggs, ground chorizo over white rice. This is bomb!!! A must have if you're coming here! In fact, I don't know any other breakfast place that serves chorizo! He got the classic buttermilk pancakes on the side. For his drink, he got Blended Macadamia Nut. He enjoyed it so much that he ordered the same thing! For me, I got the Favorite Brekky with 2 crispy bacon. And I got for my drink, Lavender Honey Latte. This is so yummm!!! I can taste and smell the lavender. The other best past about this place are the people! Jay was our server the first time, and he remembered us when we walked in! Impressive!!! This tells me he values his customers! Awesome job! He was friendly then, and he's very much friendlier! Our waitress this time is Tasha, and she serviced with a friendly smile! She's attentive too! We got to meet another person, Kevin. He's super nice and lets me take 1, 2 or 3 stickers ;) I can't say it enough. I highly recommend this cafe for it's yummy breakfast meal and the people who works here! They have to love working here to service with ALOHA! Our heart is happy, and our tummy is filled with happiness too! Thank you for reading my review. Have a great weekend! read more

Visiting from Florida. Food was delicious. Service was great. Great atmosphere, cute local place. We got on the waitlist on the way there and were sat quickly. Order the tiramisu cold brew which was really yummy. The foam top was my favorite. The California love omelet was great, filled with veggies. Country bread was warm toasted just right. We started off with an affogato + matcha affogato! Both delicious! The matcha was more on the earthy side, but was good with the vanilla ice cream. We always go with sweet and savory! French toast was divine! California burrito was flavorful and the prosciutto egg toast was delectable. The pesto aioli was chefs kiss! Everything was so good. Make sure to join the waitlist immediately. We waited upwards to an hour, but it was worth it. The staff is so friendly and I loved the vibe inside. Very boho. read more

Nestled in busy, ever-under-construction Kalihi off of Dillingham Boulevard lies Egghead Cafe. On a whim, I came here for lunch to confront my PTSD of being called Egghead in the second grade. Let me tell you this: Egghead is excellent epicurean therapy if you're having one of those days. I had the smoky salmon benedict and a side order of waffle fries. You could substitute the garden salad for waffle fries, but I needed some ruffage. The egg-bases hollandaise is wonderful and made even better with some Tapatio. The salmon is generous too--not too thin and not overwhelmed by egg or cheese. I'll come back here again when I'm on Oahu for more therapy. read more

This has been my go-to spot lately, and I've been enjoying all the different dishes and my favorite drink.. Tiramisu cold brew! Today I decided to try the Oh love French toast because a lot of people said it's really good, and I'm so happy I did. The French toast was perfectly sweet.. nothing overpowering. The french toast itself had a crispy exterior with a soft interior.. it was also covered in chocolate and strawberries.. you can't go wrong with those ingredients. I'm definitely going to continue coming here for the excellent customer service and delicious food and coffee. read more

This breakfast/brunch was a hit. Be prepared to wait 10-30mins to get a table, because this is a popular place. Got the Avocado corn toast with an added egg. Sourdough toast was yummy, I enjoyed the fresh greens on the side! 4/5, maybe for me a little too much corn in the avocado spread. My husband got the pork belly omelette, he said it was super yummy! Pork belly done so well! 5/5 Chai latte was prefect! And the affogato was good, not the best of Ice creams but still yummy! Looking around at all the food it looked so good. I will need to go back and try a pancake or French toast. Look the ambience and decor! read more
