First time in. You can order prior to arriving on your phone/online or you order at 1 of the 2 kiosks when you arrive. It was after 10am and the wait was roughly 20-25min per the staff. I tried the fluffy egg tots and a bacon sandwich with added avocado. The flavor the tots was good. I got notes of dried seaweed flavor, which I like. I had indicated sauce on the side, but they didn't give it to me (I realized after I left lol). The sandwich was overall good. The bacon was a bit softer than my preference and the bread definitely gets soggy quick. The eggs were very soft and moist. For this location, there is a restroom. You have the take the back stairs or elevator down one floor and you need the code from a staff member to get in. :( There was a homeless gentleman taking food out of the trash before staff kindly asked him to leave. read more

Really really tasty! I got a Ham & Cheese for a quick brunch, and it's soooo good. At first glance, it's a bit pricey for what you're getting, but the food ended up being filling. A good stop for a $12 quick meal :) read more

I saw this LA based place on one of those morning show segments and was like huh that looks pretty good. Located in one of my former favorite lunch spot (Naf Naf Grill) on Michigan Ave from when I worked in an office. I love a good breakfast sandwich so this is right up my alley, especially if the eggs are super fluffy as the place professes. Ive been twice at this point and both times I have enjoyed my sandwich. First time around I got the Avocado egg sandwich (Avo Egg) and it includes eggs and avocado of course, but also chives, sriracha, egg sauce (house mayo) served on an in house brioche...very good sandwich in which it comes wrapped in plastic and in a box. Next time I came and got the Ham & Cheese which has the same ingredients with ham added this time. Obviously the meat adds a great flavor to it so just a little better than the avo egg. Ive washed these down with the New Orleans Latte (pretty good) and the iced Vanilla Chai Latte (very damn good!). You can get other goodies here aside from the sandwiches such as burritos, tots, fries, burger-wiches and other goodies. You can order from a kiosk or a real person. They are open from 7am-3pm so it can be a good breakfast stop or lunch option. Good stuff! read more

This place was really good. I tried it in Chicago my first time visiting and I was thoroughly impressed with the food. I would recommend calling in at least 20 Minutes ahead of you arriving because it took a while to get my sandwich. read more

Good place for breakfast especially if you're around for the architecture river cruise tour. Super friendly staff. Quick and efficient service. Basement access to bathroom, you just need to ask for a code. The bacon and egg sandwich is pretty yummy, but just slightly on the saltier side for me. (Personal preference) I just sort of wish they had a QR menu or physical menu. Touch screen tablets are nice. But when you're waiting in line, as a tourist you don't quite know what to order. read more

I ordered the classic egg tuck sandwich, royal west, and honey lemonade for pick up. It was prepared on time and served warm. We were impressed with both of our sandwiches and enjoyed all the flavors from the bread to the cheese and chives. The lemonade was a little too sweet for our tastes. Inside was clean and had a good amount of seating for standing and sitting. A nice place to grab quick, delicious, filling breakfast! read more

My boyfriend and I went here on a Sunday morning. It was a little busy but not too bad. They have two tablets to place your order on. They make the sandwiches to order so it does take a bit of time to receive your food. The sandwiches come in a little box and look just like the pictures. We ordered the royal west and bacon & cheese. They were both fantastic and had a lot of flavor! Some of the best breakfast sandwiches we've had. While my friends wanted to sleep-in, while visiting Chicago (from St. Louis), I decided to walk around for some breakfast and saw a a sign that says "Egg Tuck" and got excited right away. I've had Egg Tuck for the first time when I was in Cali and remember loving it! It happened to be their opening week and it was so packed. They have seating in the back and I didn't know until later because people were covering that area. As soon as I got my sandwich, my friends called to meet, so I didn't get to eat my sando right away, however, I ate it 4 hours later, and it was still sooooooo delicious. I wish I regret not buying more. They were still new and still getting the hang of things so the service was slow and not great! I got my 1 sandwich a little over 30-minutes after ordering. I hope things are better now, though. Definitely check it out! read more

Beautiful egg and yolk color themed restaurant with great service. There is always a crowd but your food comes fast. The sandwich is super filling; lots of goodies tucked inside of brioche toast. So fresh and what a presentation. The honey lemonade is really good too. They also sell breakfast burritos which I will have to try next. Just an FYI: eggs are plant based. read more

By far the best egg sandwich I've had. Prior coming to Chicago, I have not heard of Egg Tuck but luckily it's just around the corner from the hotel I've been staying at and I decided to try it out since I love eggs. I ordered the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich with the sauces on the side online. By the time I came to down to pick up my order, it was about 30 minutes after the estimated time it stated it was ready. The store front was packed full if people of door dashers and people who ordered online, waiting for their order. The employees were very polite, patient and good with ensuring the patrons, orders were being fulfilled accordingly. All of the online orders did cause their food orders to pile up. That being said, the sandwich was amazing! The brioche bread was buttery, rich and toasted. The soft scrambled eggs were so good, soft and fluffy and the bacon was crisp and everything together was just great. I got the sauces on the side, the sriracha aioli was perfect to dip into. The orange was fresh squeezed and the filled it up to the brim with juice, so tasty. I will return before departing Chicago to grab another! read more

I can't believe I haven't tried Egg Tuck sooner! They have multiple locations but I finally tried it in Chicago during my visit. Their sandwiches are definitely worth the price. I used the kiosk to order the west sando (korean bbq). It's like a burger sandwich! The meat was not overcooked and I loved the caramelized onions and cheese! My friend got the avo egg sandwich. Wow hers looked so good too! Eggs were buttery and soft. Love the packaging. It's so neat and pretty! Eating the sandwich can be tricky as it's a mouthful and kinda messy. I carefully bite into it because I knew the fried egg was going to pop. Everything actually held up nicely. The brioche was slightly toasted and buttery. I devoured it all!! Service was okay. Staff informed the customers that there was going to be a 10 minute wait because everything is made to order. Totally understandable. There were more seats in the back of the restaurant. Staff came out to occasionally clean tables. It was the perfect meal to start the day! A must try! read more

Not ganna lie, this breakfast sandwich was pretty darn good and super filling! I went during st. Patty's weekend so it was more busy than usual. You order from a big ipad and then wait til they call your name. I was told my wait was 45 min to 1 hr but it wasn't too bad. They have a couple tables in the back and a long counter that you can eat at. The bathroom situation is interesting where you gotta take an elevator to get to it. I chose the avo egg sandwich and the egg tots to share with my friend. The bread is buttery and soft but still has a nice crispy outer layer. The eggs are nice and fluffy. I thought the egg tots would be an overload on the eggs but honestly it wasn't. read more

We FINALLY tried Egg Tuck today and already can't wait for our next visit!! We ordered: - fluffy tots - New Orleans latte - bacon and cheese sandwich - Spicy gochuracha royal west sandwich (was indeed spicy) The eggs were SOO fluffy all around Totally understand how these Korean-inspired sandwiches has been voted one of the best breakfast sandwiches in LA! I'm honestly not much of a scrambled egg person but everything we ordered was flavored very well. I'm absolutely in love with their toast (a fluffy brioche recipe that is crispy on the outside but SO soft on the inside) - if I could order it by the loaf I would. Our biggest hesitation initially was that there was no seating available (and you def wanna eat these items warm) BUT found out there is a fairly large indoor seating space in the back! I can't wait to try the Avo Egg sandwich next! Definitely try Egg Tuck next time you're on Michigan Ave or in Lincoln Park! Definitely allot some time - we were told the wait could be up to 40 minutes but got our order within 20 minutes! read more

The good: Amazing Honey Lemonade. Like literally addicting. The Lemonade earns Egg Tuck 5 stars alone. The bad: The eggs are runny which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They have good flavor and the restaurant isn't skimpy on bacon or Avocado. The elements of the sandwhich are good individually but don't pair well together and it's due to the bread. It was both soggy, greasy and burnt. I'll have to try this fresh and see if that makes a difference. read more

My first time trying this restaurant and went back the next morning. Less than 20 minute wait for food both times. Prices are a bit steep because the egg is only partially in the bread, the bread is only cut open a little. I got tater tots both times, I would recommend the tater tots with egg on top and spicy mayo. Service is hands off and you order at a kiosk. Tables were dirty both mornings but the egg is very runny and hard to clean up if you drip. Overall loved it and will be returning for a third time. read more

Just happened to be walking around the loop and decided to stop in for lunch. Service was quick, and prices were reasonable for the amount of substance you get in the sandwich. I loved the texture of the egg. It was very fluffy and full of flavor. The bread was nicely toasted and had a great salty flavor. There are a couple of different sauces in the sandwich. Each sauce tastes great on their own, and together, I'm sure. The main problem I had with the sandwich was with the composition. The ingredients were not spread around the sandwich. Instead, there were moments that I would have only egg without any other flavors. I didn't even know there was more than one sauce until I got to the bottom, and there was nothing but bread and Sriracha sauce. I still loved the sandwich, but I love eggs in general. I just wish that each bite had more of each flavor instead of the random gaps in flavor. read more

Downtown food options can be pretty mediocre in my opinion - expensive but not very outstanding or good / yummy for the price point. I generally don't seek out eating in the Loop but I was getting lunch with a friend and had seen this viral place on Instagram. It's an LA food spot that's making its way out to Chicago with a few locations. My conclusion is that it's a good sandwich (both me and my friend got the Royal West sandwich with kalbi) and yummy, but not Amazing. I have what I call a list of anti-depression foods that spark joy and make me forget my troubles and this would not make that list. I think generally if you want to eat something good and want to be in downtown Chicago, Egg Tuck is a solid place to go. I think the sandwich is a little small for $15+ with tip (and we should tip!) but a solid meal. I'm not sure I'll go out of my way to come back, but I think my friend liked it a bit more. read more

I love egg sandwiches! I could eat an egg sandwich any time of day. And this one did not disappoint. The sandwich is messy (try to keep it contained, or just give up and have a fork as a backup.) I had the Spicy Royal Westand it was delicious. On a vague scale that has no point of comparison, I'd say that the spicy is pretty spicy. You know how some places say "spicy," but they don't really mean it? They mean it. I loved the sriracha aoli and the Tteok-Galbi (Pork and Beef Short Rib Patty), which is something like your traditional breakfast sausage patty, but better. And, on the spicy sandwich, a little spicier. I added avocado, but it probably wasn't necessary, the sandwich already had a lot going on, in terms of being filling and sloppy. I'm not usually a bread lover but the brioche on this sandwich is special. I heard another customer asking for eggs and "sausage" and the worker kept telling her, no, they don't have sausage. I think for most people this is basically just a twist on a sausage patty. The tots were good and crispy. The inside of the restaurant wasn't very impressive. It could have used a cleaning. I had to wipe off a table. Think of a fast food interior. You could take your food to go, but keep in mind that it's messy and I think it will take much better hot and fresh. read more

Egg Tuck is a very new and popular breakfast spot in downtown Chicago. Nestled in among the shops and skyscrapers near the river on Michigan Avenue, Egg Tuck offers eggy sandwich and tater tot options. The service was pretty good considering the demand, but we were waiting for our food at least 45 minutes after ordering (for a couple of sandwiches and an order of tots). The ambiance is rather chaotic and hectic - but the food was quite delicious - I was particularly fond of the sriracha aioli. While I may wait a spell before returning to allow the long lines to slow down, I do hope to come again before too long. This fills the niche of offering a nice healthy breakfast option to go without going to a typical mediocre fast food establishment. read more

I love egg sandwiches and per an Eater article written by Ashok Selvam on Dec 7, 2023, the egg sandwich is having a "renaissance." Just google "egg tuck eater" and you'll find the article. I laughed when Selvam said his "eater colleagues called Egg Tuck the 'spiritual successor' to Egg Slut." It's a great article and made me very hungry. Anyway, I am here for all the iterations of breakfast sandwiches! Egg Tuck is from LA and they opened their first Chicago location in downtown on 326 N Michigan Ave (right next to Mochinut). Their grand opening was on Dec 2, and their social media team and other food-stagrammers are working overtime to get the word out. So, after Egg Tuck made its way into my feed time and time again, I made a trip here on a Friday morning. The set-up is fast casual with an option to order ahead online for pickup. We went to Egg Tuck to dine in. When you arrive, there is an area to order using two kiosks and a staff member kindly greeted us good morning. It was busy and there was a line inside of folks waiting for their food, and someone will call your name once your order's ready. The seating area is in the back of the restaurant with self-serve water and napkins, etc. The long line and wait time was making people anxious - I imagine if you only allotted 30 min for breakfast and after 20 minutes still needed to check in on your order. However, Egg Tuck was making everything to order and the food (albeit delayed) was coming out fresh. Since it was still their first week, it felt like a soft opening during the "breakfast rush." We ordered and got our food in 20 minutes. Here is what we got between 2 people: Sweet Egg (original) Avo Egg Tater Tots (plain, but you have options to top with eggs) New Orleans Iced Coffee (chicory coffee with condensed milk) Hot House Coffee Our breakfast tab was about $35. While not an everyday breakfast spot, it was fun to try and SO delicious. The eggs were fluffy and generously stuffed in the softest brioche bun that has been buttered and toasted. I loved the addition of the house mayo and sriracha aioli, which wasn't spicy but gave the sandwich a little flavor kick. They used parsley instead of chives that day (for anyone who is particular about garnishes, they just have run out or were too busy that day). Aside from a slightly longer than expected wait time, Egg Tuck is amazing! Factor in a little more time if you're heading here before work or in general, as their operations are getting smoothed out and they are dealing with a flock of hungry people dying to try this lovely Korean-inspired egg sandwich. It's worth the wait! read more

New to Chicago land area. A few things that you need to know. 1. The food imo looks like the advertisement. 2. The wait, at least for me on a Saturday morning at 9 was about an hour, from order to actually getting food. As for the food it was definitely tasty. The bread/ Texas toast was soft and nicely toasted. The egg was really light and fluffy(I mean really light and fluffy), and it was a good amount of eggs. I liked it. The bacon egg was really good egg sandwich not wait for an hour good, but good nonetheless. The cheese and the bacon gave you a bit of each with each bite, and it was prepared fresh. The royal west had a different taste, almost of a burger but slightly different it was pretty good as well. And the fries were just normal thick fries with a little seasoning, I actually liked them a lot. I would go here again, but the wait was crazy. It is newly opened. So maybe if the newness dies down it won't be as long await. But if I do go again it'll be either super early, like at opening. They also have a small to medium dining area in the back. read more
