As a Tradesman I walked in there with the expectations of a stuffy ,snobby café atmosphere. I was absolutely wrong. I really like the fact that they kept a lot of the historic value to the Decour. This is definitely a great spot for brunch in the Benton park area. It's so good that there's for sure going to be bit of a wait, especially on the weekend. We probably waited for about 30 minutes but it was worth it. The freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious!!!! I had the cornbread pork belly eggs Benedict which was SO TASTY!!!! The cornbread was so moist and sweet which was a perfect balance for saltiness and fattiness from the pork belly. Came here for a brunch on the weekend. I guess this place is connected to Spare No Rib? It was pretty confusing... Pulled pork hash with two poached eggs - this was great! However this comes with the potatoes mixed in with the sauce and pulled pork. The flavors mix well together, but the sauce kind of negated the crunchy texture of the potatoes. Nothing big but just realize the potatoes won't be super crunchy if you get this one. The eggs were poached very well! Smoked pork belly corn bread Benedict - wow! I usually don't like eggs Benedict that much but the hollandaise sauce goes very well with the potatoes on the side and the pork belly. I thought the corn bread was a tad dry but I guess it soaked up the gooey egg yolk and sauce well. I LOVED the potatoes! They were so crunchy and yummy!!! The pork belly itself was actually a little underwhelming for me... just two small pieces and nothing special about them really. Overall great place! I have been a returning customer for some time now. Absolutely adore this place! Very authentic and unique Mediterranean specials weekly. I have NEVER been a fan of corned beef and cabbage but for St. Patty's day they did their own version and it was phenomenal!!! Mimosas. My favorite thing in the world. My happy place. We went to Egg after my college graduation. Nestled into the corner of a seemingly random buidling, Egg is hip and somehow Southwestern. My boyfriend ordered the Veggie Hash (Brussels sprouts, Corn, Bell Pepper, Zucchini, Squash, Mushrooms) with two poached eggs, a side of sausage and a mimosa. The wait for a table for a party of 2 was actually really short (10 min maybe), but the wait for food took quite a while. 10/10 would come back just for the corn bread benedict! Anywhere I can get boozy breakfast cocktails and breakfast tacos is a home run in my book. We stopped by for Sunday brunch a few weeks ago, and were lucky enough to snag a table right away. This place buzzes with positive energy, and was full of happy diners, bloody marys traveling to almost every table, and friendly staff. If you're in the mood for a morning drink (who isn't?), do not pass up the hot espresso martini. It's made with double espresso, vodka, hazelnut liqueur, and coffee liquor. It was one of the best breakfast cocktails I've ever had. The breakfast tacos are topped with scrambled eggs and you have your choice of: chorizo & queso, carne asada, veggie & queso fresco, or spicy rib. You really can't lose here. We also ordered sides of potatoes and bacon. The potatoes were A-OK and could probably be skipped, but the bacon was wonderful (obviously.) Literally the best food I've ever tasted. Not just the best brunch--best food. I ordered the spinach and avocado cornbread Benedict. It tasted amazing! You get a huge hunk of avocado under each egg, and the cornbread is so moist and wonderful. All my other brunchmates raved about their food as well. The only thing about this restaurant is that it seems they don't have air conditioning going in the main eating area. If you go to the back towards the restrooms, it is noticeably cooler. My first time at Egg was a year ago so I can't believe I am just now reviewing them... but I absolutely love Egg. It's my new favorite breakfast spot, by far. The menu isn't huge, but its different than the typical pancakes and eggs. My husband surprisingly loved the menu too, even though he is quite the picky eater. My go to's are the El Cerdo, and the Pork Belly eggs Benedict. The El Cerdo is this hash with carnitas, spinach, corn, and this spicy rojo sauce. It was super good, extremely tender meat. I would say that I think my favorite is the pork belly eggs benedict, which is served on corn bread. It's a must try. They also have wonderful drinks, my favorites being the Mimosa and their Bloody Mary. I love the mimosa because it is with fresh squeezed OJ, and the only way to make OJ better is to add Champagne, of course. The staff here is wonderful, all attentive, friendly, and warm. And they have a parking lot! I love when restaurants in the city actually have places to park, haha. If you haven't been to Egg, get yourself there. You will love it. read more

One of the best breakfast places in STL! The food here is delicious! The service was a little slow, but understandably as they were short-staffed. We were seated promptly to our table even with having a large group. The pork belly benedict was a favorite of mine -- second to the P O T A T O E S. Gosh, I don't think I've had better breakfast potatoes in my life! The dish was perfectly savory and rich. The pork belly was not overly-greasy. It was nice, crisp, and "thicc". The downside to my meal would have been the iced mocha that I had. The presentation set up a lot of hype for myself with the nice thick whip/foam, I thought the drink would be sweet with hints of chocolate like most mochas out there. However, it tasted mostly like watered-down iced coffee with milk. Didn't come here for the coffee, though, so I can't complain too much! The potatoes were seasoned a bit spicy but amazing, crispy, and just so delicious. The omelette was cheesy, with a bit of spinach, and delicious roasted carnitas. The portion was really big and I took down most of it. Decent price, good service. It will now be difficult to choose between Egg and Mudhouse when I get back in the area. First time here and blown away. We ended up talking to both owners as my wife is GF and they knew all about it. The food is totally amazing and wonderful. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was hot and tasty. I had the El Ranchero, which is a tostada served with beans and 2 over easy eggs with a variety of Mexican salsas and sauces.
