It was then another 20 minutes until a server came to take our drink and food order. We waited and waited and the drinks never came. No one came to our table unless it was to bring us a drink order for another table. Meanwhile the table that had been sat only a few minutes before us had been given their drinks and food and we're almost completely finished with their meal. Still no service. Finally, after close to an hour, we got up and left. I refuse to give my money to an establishment incapable of bringing a drink order in a timely manner. Egg was a solid 3.5 stars for my family and I and with a couple small improvements, I'm sure it can be bumped up to a 4 star experience. Here's what I tried: El Cerdo Hash (4/5) Poached eggs with carnitas, spinach, corn, jalapeños, on a bed of potatoes and topped with salsa. The flavor is amazing and the meat was tender. Loved it and I highly recommend! Carne Asada Breakfast Taco (4/5) Just a carne asada taco with added scrambled eggs. The flavor of the meat was good and the tortilla was heated correctly (none of that dry stuff!). I suggest you order 2-3 if you want a la carte. Smoked Pork Belly Corn Bread Benedict (3/5) Although this particular dish wasn't my favorite, husband loved it and rated it a 4.5/5. I think it was the combination that didn't fit well for me. Chorizo sope (3/5) Spicy goodness! Except...the shell was ridiculously hard. My father would have needed a steak knife to cut through it, so he just literally ate the toppings. Cornbread & sausage gravy (3/5) Again, not my style. The cornbread is really delicious though but my father is definitely a fan of the combination. This savory dish is good to share. Great ratings, but why not a 4/5?! Because our food was luke warm! And I'm sure I could have enjoyed the food so much more if it all came out hot. It wasn't great, but they are trying to do something different and I like that. Maybe a different dish next time? But, the food was cold, both eggs and potatoes. My companion's food was served with a warning, the main dish, in a separate bowl, might burn you. But it was only warm. Told the waiter, they replaced my food quickly. The eggs were then hot, but the potatoes were again room temperature. Busy Saturday morning, runner was on a break, so the system broke down? I think they freshly squeeze their oj, not sure, but it definitely tastes like it. Everything is really fresh here and well thought out. I tried their beef chakchouka and it was really really tasty. It would have been better with less potatoes and more veggies, but this is a personal preference as I don't care for potatoes. You MUST get the mushroom gravy.
