Hungry Rancher

The best breakfast in AZ hands down. The staff were super friendly and the inside was clean. Portions sizes are for two. The cinnamon roll pancakes where chefs kiss. Eggs cooked perfectly and everything seasoned to perfection. The bacon was really good and would make a phenomenal blt. Would definitely be back!

Walked in, sat down and ordered coffee and water - looked at the menu, walked out. $18 for bacon and eggs. Thanks Trump. You're doing a bang up job with the economy. No wonder there's nobody having breakfast here on a Wednesday morning Good luck in bankruptcy Joe

Denver & Tillamook Cheddar Omelet with Fruit & Biscuit

Dined in with a group of 10+ people, and the staff were very kind and accommodating for our party despite the fact that we had not notified them of our large group in advance. The service was excellent and our server was incredibly patient and kind as we asked her to split the bill an excessive number of ways. I highly recommend their omelets--the Denver & Tillamook Cheddar Omelet in particular. It was so cheesy, I had a satisfying cheese pull in nearly every bite. My only complaint was the sliced banana they included in my side of fruit was very obviously brown and unappetizing in appearance. I could see myself coming back to this restaurant in the future, primarily because of their quality customer service.

Forgot to take a picture before hand, but we were too excited to eat! I got the loaded hash browns and boy is that gravy good! Thank you Ashley for your kindness, jokes, and wonderful service! The decor and ambiance is pretty rad too!

I was eager to try this place after seeing great reviews but I think I set my expectations too high... We got the Dutch pancake, eggs Benedict, eggs with sausages and country fried steak. The foods were okay. Nothing special. If anything, it lacked flavor and was a bit dry. I would say out of all the things we ordered, the scrambled eggs were probably the best... Service was a bit slow but the restaurant was really crowded for Saturday brunch so I can understand. Maybe we came on a weird, off day. Maybe we'll try this restaurant again next time

I thought it was bland and overpriced

It was OKAY. I got the traditional eggs Benedict and it was a bit bland. I wouldn't order it again. You have the option between a side of fruit or hashbrowns. I personally don't like hash browns so wasn't super stoked about the options and wish they offered something like breakfast potatoes or fries. My husband got the waffle meal. The waffle was good and the better choice. My main complaint is that prices were steep for the amount of food you get. I think each meal was $16.99 and mediocre.

What a great place to have breakfast on a Saturday morning ! The breakfast bowl was so good and bigger portion.

It took 45 minutes to get our food, Sunday is busy so keep this in mind. My husband loves the bacon and eggs at this restaurant. This was my first time. My toast and hash browns were excellent. The omlet was not so great. The eggs were overcooked and there was so much salty bacon on it and the minute amount of avocado was undetectable. The Christmas music was a nice touch.

Ask the Community - Egg N' Joe

How much are the Mimosas? I see that the prices still aren't listed on the menu for these alcoholic beverages. I hate mystery pricing.

$8.50 for our 14 oz. mimosas, $17.50 for a carafe, and $15 for a flight of 4 minimosas

Are dogs allowed on patio?

No. We were turned away from the patio with our one small dog as he is not a "service animal" although there is no signage indicating only service animals are permitted on the patio. The host was very nice but appropriate signage is needed.

What is a German pancake?

It is between a Crepe & a pan cake.. Usually served with butter, lemon slices & powder sugar...

You really can't go wrong here. Service was awesome--friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We also loved the outdoor seating, which made for a really nice, relaxed vibe. My only con is that there aren't many vegan options. They do have some vegetarian choices, but if you're vegan, you'll likely need to modify a few dishes. Overall, a great brunch spot that we'll definitely be coming back to!

From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. There was a group of servers standing around chatting, and no one acknowledged us for several minutes. After being seated, it took about 10 minutes before a server came over just to offer water and ask about drinks. We placed our drink order, and while the coffee came in a carafe, it wasn't even hot. The rest of the drinks trickled out later. Then it was another 20+ minutes before the server came back to take our food order. We ordered two simple build-your-own breakfasts and an Ultimate Grilled Cheese (no fries), plus two Cobb salads to go. Nothing complicated--yet the food took a long time to come out. During that entire wait, our server never checked on us once. No updates, no refills, nothing. When the food finally arrived, we ate, and again--no check-in, no "how is everything," no refill offers. Eventually, she dropped the check off without a word. We had to remind her about the two Cobb salads we ordered to go. She said they'd be right out, and a couple minutes later they showed up with a revised bill. Before leaving, we checked the salads--and that was the final straw. For $18, they were basically side salads. No cheese, no grilled chicken, no avocado, no croutons, no green onions, and not even any hard boiled eggs--just iceberg lettuce, a few tomatoes, bacon, and ranch dressing. Completely unacceptable for what's supposed to be a Cobb salad. We waited at the table for about 5 minutes for someone to come back--no one did. So we went up front and stood there another 5 minutes while multiple staff members ignored us, continuing their closing routines. Not a single person asked if we needed help, and our server was nowhere to be found. At that point, we left the salads behind, paid for the rest of the meal, and walked out. Terrible service from start to finish, and the food quality didn't make up for it. We won't be back.

They don't seat you until you order and one of us was running late, which "gave" us time to peruse through the menu. Counter order and table service. Had it not been a warm day, we would've sat outside (they have both inside and outside seating). It appears they have daily specials, but I went with a hearty stack of pancakes and some eggs on the side. As good as their prices are on drinks.. I just needed a hit of caffeine to get me thru that day. It be like that sometimes! We didn't have to wait long for breakfast and the girls kept the coffee flowing from cup to my veins. Black Bear Diner on Alma School Road in Chandler delivered a classic diner experience done right…read more The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, exactly what you hope for when sitting down for a relaxed breakfast. The service stood out immediately--our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything arrived quickly and exactly as ordered. The food itself was hearty and satisfying. The steak breakfast was cooked well and paired perfectly with the traditional breakfast sides. The Shasta Scramble was flavorful and filling, and the drinks were kept refreshed throughout the meal. Everything came out hot and well prepared, showing the kitchen clearly takes pride in consistency. What made the visit especially enjoyable was the combination of comfort-food portions, efficient service, and a laid-back diner environment. It felt like the kind of place where you can settle in, enjoy a solid meal, and leave happy. A great stop for a dependable, satisfying breakfast in Chandler.

Always hoping a local recommendation turns out great. *Service: the service was fair. Our waitress spent most of the time sitting in the booth across from us on her phone and checked in occasionally. A few times we had to ask for things we needed. Nothing rude, just not especially attentive or engaged. Definitely didn't feel like her #1 priority. *Food: I ordered the tuna *melt*. It was alright, but nothing to write home about. The tuna itself was relatively cold (should have been warm on a melt) and lacked flavor, the cheese wasn't melted (it's a "melt", right?), and the bread was good. I dipped and drenched in salt, pepper, ranch and hot sauce to give it some flavor. The fries were good, hot and tasty. Overall, it felt like a mid-level café sandwich made by a basic "cook", not a well curated restaurant sandwich. My lunch buddy ordered a smothered omelette that looked great, and he said it was very good, so that was good. *Ambiance: the atmosphere was decent. Very basic, a bit cold feeling, café-like, casual, and reasonably comfortable. Nothing stood out strongly other than it seemed pretty clean and bright. *Value: my tuna melt and fries, with no drink, was $16. Not great, not terrible. It felt like an $8-$10 sandwich max for what I got, not a standout value. I posted a picture of their specials board so you can get a feel for the value. *Overall: everything here was fair, food, service, and ambiance while value was not great. Nothing bad, nothing memorable. A three-star experience for me. I wouldn't rush back, but wouldn't avoid it if I was in the area and others wanted to go. *Update: I have a strong reputation for detailed, honest, and trustworthy reviews. What we experienced is accurately and honestly captured in this review. There were no misunderstandings, our experience is captured exactly as reviewed.
