This appears to be the new and must visit restaurant this part of Chandler. We stopped on by on a quiet Saturday, well after all the snowbirds have left town, and the wait was 30 minutes inside or brave the heat and lack of shade on the patio for immediate seating. Although it was warm out, the May days haven't hit way over 100 yet, so we elected for the patio. Three of the coveted tables were in the shade of the building, while the other six or so other tables were directly in the sun. Why they don't have umbrellas for shade, no idea! The server was very nice, but she seemed a little overwhelmed. She was either Johnny on the Spot or would disappear for awhile. The food was decent to good. I went withthe traditional breakfast plate. I know it was lunch, but most of their menu was breakfast and the name is Egg & Joe. It is in the picture below. My dad went with the German pancake, it was really good, but defintely add the eggs and breakfast meat to make it something substantial. My mom went with the Southwest Chicken, the lighter portion. It was a good size and looked pretty good. She liked it. For being in the burbs the prices were a little higher than most places nearby. The aesthetics of this place are a little lacking, it is somewhere between Village Inn and Snooze. Would I go back? In the words of my mom, I wouldn't race back. It would be good in a pinch, but I think I would rather go down the street to Village Inn or The Black Bear for something similar. read more

Pancakes done the way they should be done. Flavorful buttermilk cakes, cooked to perfection. And a great variety of them, too. While their German pancake was OK, I must admit I expected a bit more from one of their signature dishes. I ordered the Lingonberry German Pancake Combo with 2 Eggs Medium-Well with 3 Crispy Bacon and a Cranberry Juice! Eggs were perfectly done, whites cooked not runny and yolks runny, perfect for me, restaurant calls this Magic Eggs, because they need more attention getting them right. It makes me sad to write this review. Egg & Joe is a restaurant that we have eaten at many times since it opened in our area. We supported them through COVID, and have always enjoyed their food. This past Saturday we went there for brunch following a bike ride with some friends. Our party was eight people. I realized that this is a large party. I called prior to going and was told that there currently was approximately a 10 to 15 minute wait for a party our size to be sat. Upon arrival, I checked in at the front and again was told that it would be 10 to 15 minutes for us to be sat. We waited 20 minutes, without being sad while they set two large parties who arrived after us. After continuing to wait at 45 minutes I finally went to see why we had not been sat and was just told sorry and they didn't know how.long it would be. At that point I handed them our pager and politely stated for future reference they should not be telling parties a wait time they could not adhere to. With so many options for breakfast/brunch in our area we will not be going back to egg and Joe. read more

I have not tried the food. This review is purely based on my first impression trying to place a "to-go" order. Call on a Sunday morning trying to place a to-go order. Was told they only take to-go order during weekdays. So I asked if it is ok for me to go there to place the order and wait for the food to get ready. I was told I can do that but will need to wait in line to get a "table" before I can place an order. What kind of policy is that - to wait in line just like everyone else for a table. Once you are called and told your table is ready, then only you can place your "to-go" order and wait further to pick them up. Unlikely to order from them anytime soon. read more

For something that is linked to Elmer's I'm shocked at the dirty floors, sticky tables that I had to have them rewipe and dirty bathrooms that had over flowing trash bins and no toilet paper in them. Our server Ashley H. Was rude and snippy. Won't be back. read more

I really like this restaurant but I had an unpleasant outcome yesterday. My husband often orders the German pancake (which is covered with powdered sugar) and I usually order the delicious garden fresh sandwich. As I ate half my sandwich I realized that it was covered with sugar as well. It wasn't visible so I kept thinking it was probably just on part of it. If we had not been a hurry yesterday I would have mentioned it then. Today, I ate my leftover sandwich and unfortunately realized this half was covered in sugar as well. I don't know who does the powdered sugar sprinkling but someone needs instructions. I hope this information is forwarded to the correct people. read more

What's the point of having an outdoor patio if you're not willing to seat or serve people on it? Completely empty patio, and completely reluctant to seat us on it. The seating system here during a rush is always mismanaged, but this was ridiculous. Not going to wait for more than 35 minutes for requested patio dining when their outdoor seating area is completely empty for mediocre food.It's a just Ok place, but again, can't handle a rush and seem to have something against al fresco dining requests. read more

Today I called Egg n Joe Arizona Ave location to place a take out order to be told take orders not accepted on weekends and holidays. I been patronizing this location since they opened and have placed take out orders over the weekend before. Was told if I wanted a take out I would need to come to the restaurant, be seated and place the order, huh? So I did. I met with the manager, who is new to this location. When I questioned their take out policy she proceeded to tell me the company "does not allow take out orders over the weekends and holidays"??? How is me placing a take out order after being seated? It's still a take out order. So which is it, do you or do you not allow. Believe there is some tuning up on the communication given to customers needed. Was super excited to see that a breakfast spot had a German pancake so we ordered the German pancake combo to go. They did not dust it with powdered sugar and didn't give us the strawberries for topping either. Also, didn't give us any syrup and we did ask if everything was in the bag. We went for a Saturday brunch and this place was packed. We were seated within few minutes. We had our 6month baby along with us and they accommodated to provide a carrier to put the carseat on. Our waitress was super sweet and kept checking on our comfort and what we wanted to order. We went with French vanilla coffee, regular coffee and orange juice for drinks. They had free refills for coffee and the french vanilla was good but a little too sweet. However we enjoyed the drinks. We ordered buttermilk pancakes, Fruity crepes, garden burger and chicken skillet. Our favourite was the buttermilk pancakes, it was really good and fluffiness was just right. The least liked dish was the fruity crepes, the crepes had a lot of strawberry filling and seemed like we were eating only strawberry more than the crepes itself. Overall the food was good and we enjoyed our Brunch. For 4 people it costed $50 and I would rate it on average for breakfast. read more

Stuffed hash brown is delicious, sunrise burritos is awesome we have even tried the Swedish pancake (not my favorite) The homemade biscuits are amazing little butter & honey..WOW!! Stopped in for a late breakfast, I had the pancakes and spouse had an omelet. Both were VERY good. Coffee was also good, had some body to it any very rich. We where seated right away and coffee and water where not far behind. Waiter was very good and as this was our first time we had a couple of questions and his advice was spot on. All customers should matter and make a difference....they clearly have enough business on the weekends that everyone else is forgotten about. My philosophy is all customers matter.....all customers should be treated importantly and when I called today to place an order for a homebound person, it made me sick to hear they would not accept the order. I will NEVER go into their restaurant again!!! Egg N Joe is opened for breakfast and lunch but we went for lunch. I had the Garden Fresh sandwich which was pretty good and my friend "wanted something different"....he had the chicken fried steak sandwich which he said was a "good choice." They offer unlimited French fries...yayThis was our first time here because it seems like there is an extensive wait...not today, we walked right in! Service was good and the restaurant was clean. I have been to both the Gilbert and now Chandler location and both were the same in terms of deliciousness. I loved the service as well. I had the Florentine eggs benedict and the canadian bacon omelette. On the day that we went, they were out of canadian bacon so we opted for the regular bacon. I haven't had too many eggs benedict in my lifetime but this one was really good! I am a huge fan of english muffins and the hollandaise sauce really wraps everything together well. After a few minutes I realized that the canadian bacon omelette and florentine eggs benedict were the same meal in different forms lol! If I had to choose between the two, I would definitely go for the eggs benedict. I was also pretty shocked at the price for one pancake... around 4 dollars... So I would suggest that if you really want pancakes to get a meal centered around the pancake and not just as a side. read more

We are from out of town and all of us are disabled veterans hoping to have a great experience. The service was extremely awful. The employees had a nice face on the whole time, but as soon as we had anything to complain about they whispered under their breath about our complaints then became extremely rude. We waited over an hour for the food and after we brought that to their attention the atmosphere became what seemed to be hostile. We understand things and get busy sometimes, but the customer service should never diminish in a place where customer service matters most. So cruising to Tractor Supply to get another egg layer was a good idea for this Monday. I passed by Egg n' Joe's and had to check Yelp to verify I had bookmarked this new view. Sure enough it was already on my radar. And darn it Kate M., you lured me in with the bait. Nice review. I knew it wouldn't be good for the keto plan but I hadn't had a meal since lunch the previous day and have been loading and moving wheelbarrows full of woodchips across the property since early in the a.m. Hot, achy, tired, HANGRY. The impulse to come here was became the plan. The reviews all sounded so good, the pictures shared convinced me I wasn't being led astray. I walk in and the young lady that greets us understands our urgency and is quick to get us seated and provide a few recommendations of the best items in the menu. Seriously, cinnamon roll pancakes are the farthest thing from keto I think you could get. Cinnamon is my weakness. So guess I will have that. Fix for HANGRY is cinnamon, fwiw. Our hostess/server, Angela, provided exceptional service too. Besides guiding us quickly to our table and then through the menu, she was charming, attentive, efficient. I hope to come by here again in the near future and will specifically request we be seated at one of her tables. Now the food. OhEmGee, I ordered an omelette and had the option of the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes on the side instead of toast for a measly eight cents. Sounds like a bargain to me. What I got was a short stack. I'm giddy with delight but kinda surprised to see three instead of just one. Yippee skippie! I mean, darn it! My Keto diet is gonna be shifted to a carb load meal. So the omelette was good, but the pancakes were (cue choir) amazing. I dont understand why they serve syrup with these pancakes and can't imagine there are people that would even use any on them. But anyway... My son ordered the pancakes with sausage and eggs. I encourage him to consider another menu item and switch it up like I had but he stuck with his decision. This place was pretty good kinda feel more the 3.5 stars but the service was really good Cheryl our server was a real sweetheart! I chose this place because I love trying different styles of eggs Benedict and they had dungeons crab on theirs. So I am a bit picky when it comes to this dish lol I rate the Hollandaise, the bread and of course the perfect poached egg. Here the sauce was good eggs great but the star of the show for me was supposed to be the crab and being from the Northwest this girl knows crab and it was just flavorless.
