One of our favorite places for breakfast / brunch in Morristown. Delicious sandwiches and excellent bowls. Our younger kids love the waffles and pancakes as well. Very easy and quick stop for really good eggs. Generally you order from a kiosk, but the staff is very friendly. My son ordered the Spicy Brisket bowl and underestimated how spicy it was. I went back up to buy a water, and they handed us two bottles for free! Will continue to come and would encourage everyone to try it. read more

I was searching for som local eatery for breakfast and came across this spot. I was greets the moment I walked in. Young lady employee saw the los look on my face and asked if it was my first time and quickly told me how the ordering process works. They have 3 screens to order from which makes life so much easier. The ambiance is cozy, clean air, tv is a decent audible volume. I ordered an expresso and breakfast bowl. Let me tell you it was both delicious. They expedite food and drink fast. They didn't fumble my name like other places do so I would definitely recommend if im back in this area again. One of my new favorite spots in Morristown. A new spot that just opened up here in town, Effin Egg definitely stands out for breakfast/ brunch. I ordered the OG- bacon, egg, chipotle ketchup- and it was a really good sandwich. This Sammy is messy in a good way. The egg was nice and runny, they didn't skimp on the bacon which was delicious, the break was nicely toasted, and the sauce tied everything together nicely. Overall great sandwich. For the service here was also amazing. The food came out super fast, (less than 5 minutes), and the service was super friendly. Not a lot of seats in the restaurant itself, but close enough to the green and service is fast enough to pick up on your way to work. I will be adding this place to my rotation of breakfast food in town for sure. read more

This is my go-to breakfast place when I need a quick bite in the morning and don't have time to make it myself, which is becoming a weekly thing for me. Excellent quality sandwiches and they are ready quickly so you won't be waiting long. I just wish they were bigger! Finally came back as figure after a couple months they have any kinks out. I got there OG as best way to judge a place is with their Signature food item. Not going to say worth 11 dollars as hard to judge difference is worth extra you are paying compared to what a local deli would charge. Will say it was a well cooked egg that even after sitting for ten minutes as they prepared it earlier then they estimated. I would prefer if state ready at a certain time to have it ready at that time or just before as over easy eggs and bacon are like French fries as best when still hot. There was plenty of bacon, brioche bun was good and egg was well cooked. Sauce did not add much as my opinion is a bec just needs some salt and pepper. Oddly they included ketchup and salt in to go bag but no pepper. You can read my previous review to see what thought of taco. My guess if I got taco again bacon would be better as it was on this sandwich. Still wish they had mocha as fairly easy to buy some chocolate syrup and swirl it around cup before make coffee and then put a bit more on top when done. Not sure will come back for the sandwich but might try tacos again and if bacon has improved might be willing to overlook not having mocha. read more

Yummy egg sandwiches on brioche buns for about $11. I tried the turkey sausage, egg and cheese with chipotle sauce, my dining companion went for regular bacon and egg. Both a little small but delicious! Super friendly staff, we were lucky to get an empty table and enjoy our tater tots fresh and hot. First place I've seen in Morristown that doesn't take cash, credit card or phone required here. Next time I try the brisket tacos. I've ordered food from here about twice so far and I give it a really really solid rating. I think the food is super good. I think the items are a tad bit pricy but for being a smaller business I understand why. I haven't had any first hand services from the restaurant, but for my most recent order the restaurant ran out of biscuits for my turkey sausage breakfast sandwich, and offered me a free cinnamon bun (which by the way felt like fireworks going off in my mouth, it was SO good and it was big too.) The vibes are right for this place, and i definitely see myself either going in person or ordering again. read more

If you like eggs, this is your place. I got the Spicy Brisket Breakfast Bowl. The eggs are fluffy and layered nicely with two types of cheese -- I really enjoyed them. The beef brisket itself was just okay, kind of bland (1 star off). The chipotle and BBQ sauces were also just okay, like the store-bought mass-produced kind. Instead of incorporating the beef brisket and sauces with the eggs, they were layered on top of the eggs, which seemed like an after-thought (after-taste?). Food is not good. The only thing that was relatively good was the coffee. - Went in on a Thursday morning for breakfast to go. They have screens where you place your own order. There is someone behind the counter, but that person mostly assembles the food orders and prepares the coffee orders. Service was quick and kind - no complaints there. Inside is decorated to match the egg/Morristown theme (pretty cute). Coffee is Illy brand which I like. I would describe the coffee being the same level as a high-end-hotel-continental-breakfast coffee. Average and good enough. I had the Dirty Jersey. (Side note- some of these food names are wild lol. Like, I'm not trying to say at 7am with my eyes just opening "let me get the lil b*tch waffles and the sl*tty pancakes".) Anyway, Dirty Jersey was too messy. Unless you like a slippery sandwich, this is very hard to contain. I should have thought about this, but I took a big bite of the sandwich and the yolk splattered out and went everywhere. Quite comical, but between the immense amount of ketchup and the yolk, the sandwich was slipping all over the place. Simply not enjoyable. The cinnamon bun was cardboard. Everything was prepared fine. But as a 50 year resident of NJ you don't put cheddar cheese and Taylor ham together. You need yellow American to balance the flavor of the pork roll. They did use 4 slices of TH but the brioche was on the small side. This made the $11 price tag kinda hard to swallow. I could go to Ridgedale Lunch down the street and get a sandwich on a larger kiaser bun and two eggs for under $7. I get they are tying to give an elevated dining experience but the Dirty Jersey was a miss. I will try something else next time. BTW The Committed Pig is also a big miss. I appreciate what they are attempting but falling short considering the cost. Ok it's the same if you tried to use cheddar cheese on pizza. Some people might like it but those of us who grew up with mozzarella would not be fans. read more

Breakfast places are prime to have around here! Especially one that has specialty breakfast sandwiches that aren't too common. We ordered online and the food was ready pretty quickly! We ordered dirty jersey (Taylor ham, egg, cheese on brioche), old skool biscuit (turkey sausage, cheese, their specialty sauce on a biscuit), and effin 30a (bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheese on corn tortilla). A bit pricey for what you get, about $10-$12 per sandwich/entree. If you walk down the street a little, you can get a bigger breakfast sandwich for almost half the price. It's a really small dining area, too. Prepare for take out when you get there unless you can snag one of their small tables. The breakfast tacos were really good. This would be my choice if I went back. They were tasty and something different! The two sandwiches were just okay - there was nothing too great about them. The old skool biscuit looked pretty bland/sad upon opening it. I think adding egg to the sandwich and maybe something else would make it better. Overall, cool spot and definitely try but there are better and less expensive breakfast sandwich spots around! read more

I drive by Effin Egg pretty much every day and was just waiting for there to be a spot out front at a time when I was hungry and that finally happened last week. The place is cute inside and it's easy to order on the touch screens. The person behind the counter was super friendly and helpful. I got the turkey sausage sandwich and I didn't look at the price when I ordered. I was shocked when it was $13, but I figured it must be a giant sandwich. It was not. I knew the value proposition was off when I opened the box. This is a very good breakfast sandwich on a nice brioche bun, but $13 for four or five bites just isn't worth it with what you can get elsewhere. It doesn't even really make sense. It's like a DoorDash price when you are in the restaurant. I would pay $7 before tax and feel like that was a solid cost to value. I stopped here after hearing about the great review in the Star-Ledger. They did not disappoint. The food was very good. The THEC was on a brioche. Kinda expensive at $11. The egg was not over cooked but in the runny side. When I took a bite, it exploded. There was lots of Taylor Ham on the roll. It could've had more cheese. Coffee was also on the expensive side but very good. You add your own cream and sugar which is a major plus for me. You order from a kiosk. I think they only take credit/debit cards but not sure. The worker was very friendly. He brought the food out when done and gave me a large coffee, even though I ordered a small. The ambiance was quaint and not loud at all. The inside was very clean and they wipe the tables down as soon as you leave. I will be back to try something else. And I do recommend this place. read more

This place appears to be a family owned business that gives special attention to patrons which is very uncommon and welcomed nowadays. There are a few small tables and they also do a lot of takeout. You order via a kiosk and pay via credit or bank card. If you need help finding what you like they are more than happy to help. I got the Taylor ham egg and cheese on a roll and it came literally piping hot, the egg was yummy, the cheese melting and there was plenty of Taylor ham. The roll was fresh, and not too large. It was a wonderful sloppy mess to eat! They supposedly have great tater tots, which can come independently or as part of one of their "breakfast bowls" which I can't wait to try next. I do see there are some ratings from 1 to 3 stars, I have not read them because I presume the folks that posted them mistakenly reviewed another establishment! read more

Absurdly the tv was broadcasting Fox News which was a shame. How about show Bob Marley or Grateful Dead concert footage instead? Even animal planet might be less polarizing than Faux News. I tried to block it out and use my phone but the wifi was on lockdown. Bathroom and restaurant itself appeared clean and upbeat. Our first visit on a busy Father's Day morning. You order your meal(s) on the counter kiosk. A nice large display and an associate attending to help you with questions and options. The process is very easy. We ordered the Eff U bowl and the Effin El Jeffe bowl, one coffee and a cappuccino. The Eff U bowl was great! Tons of really good thick bacon, cheddar and scrambled eggs - perfect. Huge serving, I had the second half for dinner. For Hubby I accidentally ordered the wrong item, when I went to the counter to ask about the bowl we received, they graciously offered to exchange it for the bowl hubby wanted, which he enjoyed. The coffee was good and the cappuccino was awesome. It was the best machine produced cappuccino I have every had and better than most at my favorite cafes. Had door dash from here a few times, and I think it's best to eat on location. The place has limited seating but taking it to the green and dining alfresco could be nice. The food continues to cook in the packages so things like crispy bacon need a quick trip to the air fryer and then it's delicious again. The slutty pancakes have a nice texture with the sprinkles and aren't too sweet. The bowls are delicious and don't suffer from additional cooking due to the delivery time. read more

Been here before and had an okay experience, the pancakes are fluffy and tasty. But today the cashier that was helping us was incredibly confused and told us he was new but had no supervision. Extremely unprofessional staff. We asked for a swap of bacon with turkey bacon and he did not mention it would be 6 dollars extra and charged us for the sauce on the tater tots that comes with it? When we asked to cancel our order because of this he had to call his manager and insinuated that we couldn't afford to ear there. Would not recommend- seating is very limited too. read more
