I also asked Midas last week to provide copies of my previous invoices but did not receive them. My understanding is that any applicable brake warranty would cover parts only, leaving me responsible for the labour charges. Given my previous experience and the lack of follow-up, I have decided to have the brake repairs completed elsewhere. I am sharing this update so other customers can make an informed decision based on my experience.

The car lot recommended we take car to Tichi on 142 Street. Tichi diagnosed a cracked head and it was repaired under warranty at no charge to us. Car ran fine afterwards. Later had a problem with no heat. Tichi diagnosed a faulty thermostat and repaired it at nominal cost. This year, car suffered some body damage in a parking lot incident. Worked with Kash at Tichi who recommended a body shop who did a great job fixing the damaged parts at a reasonable cost. Very happy with all work to date and will continue to use them for all work despite that the car is now in Calgary where the driver is going to school and we would have to bring it to Edmonton for repair.

Only until I had a recall on my 97' Honda CRV I brought my car to the Honda dealership (on 97st) that they told me I needed about $3500 of work (which they did not provide me a list of problems to take with me to discuss with my husband). I wanted a second opinion so we went to Tichi Auto. Kash (owner/mechanic) was straight forward and honest of what was needed. He told me what the immediate concerns that had to be fixed now, what can wait and what his overall advice was. The pricing was fair and not close to ridiculous price the dealership quoted. Recalling from memory, the problems that the dealership even mentioned was not even problems that were discussed with Tichi. By repairing what was needed and a tune up (don't think I had a proper tune up until taking it to Tichi), my car has been up and running smoothly for quite a few months now. Its an older car but it feels brand new. I had my mom take her car there and it also has not had any issues since then. Being a person who knows close to nothing about cars is a prey for many to be taken advantage of. With Tichi Auto Repair you can be rest assured that they are being straight forward and honest. I'm truly grateful that finally in all the years in Edmonton I found the best place to take my car with no worries. Thank you Tichi Auto. Highly recommended! Thankfulky I found the Jiffy lube here in St. Albert. The customer service was awesome there. They were friendly and fast and I felt welcomed there. Also can we mention the awesome displays they have when you drive by?! They seem to be a festive bunch. Altogether it was a great experience and my car is still in one piece. They know what they're doing…read more Transmission fluid check, change and filter replacement in a 2010 F150 would cost me $800 at City Ford. At this place they did it all for less than a third of that. The ironic thing is that they bought the fluid and filter from city ford. For those of you who would say do it yourself, just know that many newer vehicles have no dip stick for the tranny. It's an all inclusive proprietary system. Mr Lube can't even change tranny fluid anymore. So when you decide to get it done give these guys a ring.

Sean and Kelly were awesome to deal with. Kept me in the loop and even though it was looking like they were really busy, we're still able to get the diff back to me fairly quickly. I have 6 vehicles some as of as 1963, I wouldn't hesitate to let the guys at this shop handle my vehicles. I'll be back next time I have a driveline issue I'm sure.
