Family members, as well as us, had…read moreused their services years ago when Gordon was still owner and found them to be excellent, so we went back. Denzel, the new owner of six months, has kept up the good name of this business, and the service was exceptional. We appreciated his friendliness, and we found him to be as honest and transparent as is his policy. Our vehicle was fixed and ready to go faster than estimated, which was a terrific bonus for us. Best Choice is now our go-to automotive repair business. The labour charge is on par with a good automotive service shop. You can likely you can find some cheaper places, however, we've had the experience that you get what you pay for. We experienced that today. One of the issues we had with our vehicle was that we had taken it for an oil change at a chain-business (looking at you, "Mr.") because it was less expensive. We certainly got what we paid for: cheap price and bad service. Unknowing to us, the oil filter that was not put on properly, and over a bit of time a litre of oil leaked out as we were driving around. We can't even imagine the cost if all the oil had had all been lost. We appreciate that inexperienced people learn to change oil and may make mistakes while learning at chain-businesses, but we cannot afford to have their inexperience cause us issues with our car. From now on we will go to Best Choice to have our oil changes done by a trained and qualified automotive service technician. It's likely going to cost more than a chain-business would charge, but to prevent what would have been 1000s of dollars in damage makes it a smart move in our opinion. Car repairs can be costly, and we admittedly have a small income, but better to spend a little more to take care of our car and give up something else from our tight budget than not to have a working vehicle. Also, on the humourous side, Denzel was completely non-judgemental when he repaired the mistake we made and explained what we did wrong on a car repair we did ourselves. Thanks, Denzel -- appreciate that! Best Choice is our top choice, and we highly recommend them.

After dropping the car off (and paying a $20 Uber home), I was called and told they "won't even look at it, because they don't want to." When I went into Kal Tires to purchase new tires (the same season) they told me the alignment was off and the direction of the treads were completely wrong which Downtown Auto completed. Waste of money. This same auto repair shop told me they could not open the glove compartment but that they would have to break the lock and replace it with a new one that would cost me about $200. I refused the service. A day after my mom opened it herself with a screw driver! When even trained car technicians could not open the glove compartment, my mom did without breaking the lock. Was it they wanted to me to pay for more for nothing? Why would I even I go back when now I'm suspicious of possibly getting scammed (if not already)? The bottom line is they simply cared so little about my car and the service they provided me at the time, how can I ever think of going back? The service was awful to say the least and I did not feel they cared enough for my business or any returned business I would have given them in the long term. The only person that was kind was the receptionist during my first and last experience with Downtown Auto Edmonton repair shop. When servicing is done with care, that would be the auto repair shop you should take your business too. And in my experience, this ISN'T THE ONE. Consumer Beware! I got my winters put on in less than half an hour today. After having horrible experiences with Kal Tire over 10 years, it's nice to see a business that not only beats them in price and customer service, but also in honesty. I thought I would need to buy a new set of lug nuts for my winters as I couldn't find them, but I was informed that the ones on my summers worked for the winters. They could have lied and charged me anyways, but they're very honest/ethical. As a University student, it really makes a difference and really appreciate this.
