Denzel, the new owner of six months, has kept up the good name of this business, and the service was exceptional. We appreciated his friendliness, and we found him to be as honest and transparent as is his policy. Our vehicle was fixed and ready to go faster than estimated, which was a terrific bonus for us. Best Choice is now our go-to automotive repair business. The labour charge is on par with a good automotive service shop. You can likely you can find some cheaper places, however, we've had the experience that you get what you pay for. We experienced that today. One of the issues we had with our vehicle was that we had taken it for an oil change at a chain-business (looking at you, "Mr.") because it was less expensive. We certainly got what we paid for: cheap price and bad service. Unknowing to us, the oil filter that was not put on properly, and over a bit of time a litre of oil leaked out as we were driving around. We can't even imagine the cost if all the oil had had all been lost. We appreciate that inexperienced people learn to change oil and may make mistakes while learning at chain-businesses, but we cannot afford to have their inexperience cause us issues with our car. From now on we will go to Best Choice to have our oil changes done by a trained and qualified automotive service technician. It's likely going to cost more than a chain-business would charge, but to prevent what would have been 1000s of dollars in damage makes it a smart move in our opinion. Car repairs can be costly, and we admittedly have a small income, but better to spend a little more to take care of our car and give up something else from our tight budget than not to have a working vehicle. Also, on the humourous side, Denzel was completely non-judgemental when he repaired the mistake we made and explained what we did wrong on a car repair we did ourselves. Thanks, Denzel -- appreciate that! Best Choice is our top choice, and we highly recommend them.

Both calls I made to the shop were handled nicely by the team there, especially Kelsey. I immediately felt comfortable having the work done at Good News. Kelsey let me know part way through the day that one of the recommended repairs was not required, but a different fix would be needed. Kelsey and the Good News team managed the change in plan efficiently, had the quotes ready for me, and I felt they gave me sound advice to make good choices. My car was ready on time, within the expected cost, and is running really well after the repair. I would not hesitate to return to Good News for further work, and highly recommend this repair shop!

We called back in June to have our car looked at and NO ONE got back to us. We followed up the other day AND still no one can do anything for us until much too late. Really disappointed in the customer service. Incredibly frustrated that we couldn't count on them to keep their word and 'get back to us' in a timely manner. Updating my review…read more Still coming to Chase and his team at Gate Avenue Service - I think we've brought 4 vehicles here now over 10 years. First and most importantly, Chase and his team are honest and hard working. They are extremely busy but always make time to diagnose and give second opinions. They have saved me money and given me solid advice multiple times when dealerships were leaving me astray. Most recently Chase and his team helped me to advocate (aka fight) Hyundai to get a replacement on my engine. Chase provided me all the documentation that Hyundai required not once, but twice, and in paper and in e-mail after Hyundai "misplaced" it. Chase did both of these requests same day. Chase has seen me at my worst (in tears) completely overwhelmed with car stress (and I don't speak car) and also completely flustered trying to explain what felt off with my vehicle when I seriously was not describing it well. The team at Gate is always courteous and treat me and all the customers I have ever seen with respect. The only limitation or downside with Gate is that they are really busy - and for good reason! So you may have to wait a bit for an appointment but they will always treat you right! PS They offer a program to store your tires for you! I always buy my tires and extra rims from them and they store them for me in off seasons. PSS they are located right behind Petro Canada on St. Albert Trail

All of our dealings during that time have been with this company's first point of customer contact, that being Chase, the Manager. Chase has mastered the art of making clients feel welcome as soon as they enter the premises. I can easily say that Chase has provided top notch,first class customer service to us. I know my wife appreciates always being treated in a courteous and friendly manner. The quality of repair work is at a high standard and the prices are reasonable. This was a barely driven 20 year old car that grandma gave my 17 year old and we wanted to make sure it was in good shape to drive. Just told us they couldn't source the part needed to fix a specific problem we noticed. Took it to another mechanic and it turns out that part (rubber gasket ???) wasn't even the cause and told us any mechanic who would have taken 20 minutes to check out the car would have figured that out.
