Went went to Edge General Store for an early dinner tonight. We had heard friends touting their Chicken Fried Steak, which they only serve on Friday evenings, so that what we ordered, only to be told that during Lent, they served Fried Catfish on Friday evenings. It was served with Cole Slaw and Pinto Beans. Everything was great - some of the best catfish I've had in a while! For dessert my wife got a sundae and I had a chocolate malt. Both were great. We had a delightful evening with friends who eat at Edge General Store often. I will say when we first stepped into Edge General Store, it was like stepping back in time in a good way. The waitresses were kind and helpful even though it was a busy night, the food was great, and the price was good considering it was the all-you-can-eat catfish night. We were fishing nearby and stopped for a quick lunch. I had read that the hamburgers were delicious. They did not disappoint! The jalapeño sweet bun was so good. The meat was handmade & seasoned well. The only side choice was a bag of chips. They have a good variety. Was really hoping for fries. The store itself has great items. Completely in the middle of nowhere but this city boy was impressed. Service is top notch, place was super clean, nice and friendly local crowd was there, food prep was quick and my meal was delicious. This owner and management needs to know that they are doing things right and its a shame that they do not have more traffic going through this place. I will definitely be making the drive to this place when I am out in texas country again. I was surprised at how small it was, really appreciated that it was a real general store and had collectibles and memorabilia which made a city boy really feel like he was in the country. Great experience. Not to mention the patio out back where we ate was very large and spacious. A series of large fans were outside which kept us cool and kept mosquitos away. The staff were so friendly they made us all feel at home. I will be back in two weeks. read more

What an amazing place this is. Tucked in seemingly in the middle of no where. The food is amazing. Every. Single. Time. I go here at least twice a month and the food has never once wavered. Visited today with my parents. I had the cheeseburger with jalepeno bun. It was fantastic. Didn't intend to finish the whole thing, but it was too good! Very nice, country atmosphere inside and out. We noticed they had a large area outside for groups. read more
