Quick service, food was good and fresh. The waitress seemed a little shy, couldn't hear her and she mumbled but was attentive and we were happy overall

Chicken Fried Steak and okra is really good! Mashed potatoes are not good taste like hospital food. Bathroom doors need to be wiped down. Service is decent and restaurant is clean.

Huge crispy chicken salad and the rolls are so moist and delicious!! Super nice waitress Marisa!!!!

Fettuccine Alfredo with charbroiled chicken was delicious and had good service when I called in the order for pick up.

We've been to this cafe many times over the years. The food is decent, and the wait staff is pleasant. Today's lunch was exceptional! From our server, the cheerful, efficient, respectful Samantha to the food, I thought it all worked to fuel us quickly to get back on the road. As you can see from my photos, the steak was a good thickness. The fried catfish was fresh and crunchy, with house-made tartar sauce that had a nice amount of pickle pieces. Samantha checked on us and made us feel welcome.

**This place does NOT serve breakfast -- something to keep in mind if you're visiting!** My fiancé and I stopped in for a bite while we're passing through to our wedding venue. Since it opens at 10:00, we were hoping for some breakfast -- but the only serve lunch. Not a big deal, but a little disappointing. We had the friend zucchini, the chicken fried steak sandwich with fries, the burger with fries, and coffee. The coffee is some of the worst I've ever had -- definitely avoid! It's weak and just tastes like hot water. The rest of the food was pretty good. Nothing stunning, but not bad either. The fries were the best part of everything we tried. The service was decent and we got our food quickly. The restaurant itself is pretty dated, but it's clean -- everything you can expect from an old-fashioned Southern cafe. There's also a 3% upcharge on all tickets if you pay with card instead of cash. Wasn't a big fan of that either. All in all, nothing terrible, but nothing impressive.

Stopped here on my way to the coast and had a fantastic experience! I ordered the lunch portion of the pork chop, and my husband had the lunch portion of the chicken fried steak. Both dishes came with huge portions and were absolutely delicious. The breading on the chicken fried steak was perfectly seasoned. The service was excellent, and the staff was very attentive. I highly recommend this place. Their menu has a wide variety of options, so there's something for everyone.

Found this place on the way home from Galveston. The food came out piping hot, and super tasty! Our waitress was very kind and attentive. But the star of the show had to be the massive chicken tenders. So crispy and delicious!

Bunch of car club friends were looking for grub between Austin and Jefferson, Texas. We picked Hearne as our meet up spot for lunch. Really nice Texana style restaurant with lots to choose from. Might as well have some complimentary cornbread and rolls! Our table totally destroyed the basket of bread; prolly could have eaten three baskets lol. I had fried catfish with mashed taters (brown gravy) and fried okra. Good stuff except I prefer dill to sweet pickles in my tartar sauce. GF had the chopped steak topped with grilled onions and brown gravy. Sides for her were red beans and rice and spinach (canned). Also in photos my buddy's modded chef salad with blackened fish. Very few complaints and full stomachs as we headed further east. Great service too. See yall next trip!

Solid diner in Hearne,TX. Serves your standard Southern comfort food. Good sized portions. Food was good, not great. Well prepared and fast during our Sunday visit. The chicken fried steak was very good as were the mashed potatoes. Corn needs some salt and spices. Staff was very friendly.

Horrible food. Horrible service. I know the choices are slim in Hearne, Tx. but I would go to Mcdonalds before I go back to this place.

I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. I travel a lot for work and try to hit up local places as much as I can. This one did not disappoint. It's got the nostalgic old small town feel I love. The ambiance was nice all around. Clean, comfortable, and friendly folks all around. I look forward to my next visit!

One of my favorite parts was honestly the homemade chips and the salsa- the salsa has a little kick to it but it's the perfect amount. My husband had the carne guisada and enjoyed it- the kids had the cheese enchiladas and devoured it- they devoured the queso too- queso was commented on as the best queso- it was decent, nothing special to me as a huge queso lover. It's simply a melted jalepeno cheese they get and the bowl cost around $11. I got one of the dinner meals, i'm forgetting the name- it was plenty big- the chicken enchilada was the best part so probably would just get that next time. Excellent customer service- the owner is so sweet! bummed they ran out of their coconut pies or we totally would have tried that!

I asked a waitress that had came out for a different customer how much longer it would take, as the tracker on the screen had disappeared 10 mins ago. She brought my food out right away and apologized. There was nothing on my hot dogs. And there was no ketchup or anything in the bag either. My mozzarella sticks were cold and super greasy. I couldn't be any more disappointed and upset. I will NEVER go to Sonic again. This wasn't the first time something similar had happened at Sonic. Insane. If I could, I would give zero stars.

The gal came on the speaker and said "it's drive thru only". That's it. At the same time, another employee came out the door with a big sign saying that it is drive thru only. So, we get back in our cars and drive around to the drive thru. The only reason I stayed at this point, was because my grandkids were hungry, and ready to get back to our hotel. I ordered the first combo and asked for the drink to be a shake. Again, she responded with, "the ice cream machine is down, do you want fries or tots?" No apology, just too bad, move on. Are y'all McDonald's now? Your standard response gonna be ice cream broken? Again, if I'm there alone, you don't get my money. Service was ridiculous.
