Went back to Edge for lunch. Their lunch menu is great. It was $34. It was an appetizer and entrée. I did the tuna tartare which is served on a bed of mashed avocado. It was very fresh and light great portion and it came with bread crisps which are delicious. It was still slow as it was noon, but service was quick. For entrée I did the steak and fruits, which was an additional $12.. it was wagyu beef with a chimichurri and fries, which was delicious perfectly cooked and very juicy. read more

After receiving our marriage certificate on Miami Beach, we decided to dine a little closer to home to celebrate our 10 year Anniversary. Nina Compton's Compère Lapin was in-town and taking over Edge Steak & Bar at The Four Seasons Brickell for 2 months and ended up being the perfect spot. New Orleans inspired cuisine is very difficult to find in Miami, so we made sure to book our reservation several weeks in advance for this unique dining experience. Given that this experience/temporary residency was at The Four Seasons Hotel, the service and hospitality was exactly what one would expect: warm and attentive. Although it was May in Miami and right in the beginning of summer, it was a very breezy evening that made for a wonderful back drop. I enjoyed a Brugal 1888 Old Fashioned while looking over the menu. We decided to order the following dishes: - CRAWFISH HUSHPUPPIES: With Cilantro Aioli and Lemon. Fantastic appetizer! The cilantro aioli was to die for, and crawfish is something that's hard to come by around here outside of a handful of cajun restaurants. - HOT FIRE FRIED CHICKEN: Served on Coconut Grits & topped with Hot Honey & Pickles. My fiancée/now wife's order. The chicken was extremely tender, had a great kick to it due to the hot honey, and was complemented by the sweetness of the coconut grits. - BLACKENED WHOLE FLORIDA LOBSTER: Maque Choux & Herb Breadcrumbs. This was my order. I normally don't order lobster tail out at restaurants, but this one caught my attention due to all the extras added. Definitely enjoyed it! After a delicious dinner, we were given a sweet surprise, complements of the chef, for our 10 year anniversary. My fiancée was full so we didn't stay to order a "full" dessert dish after the fact. This sweet surprise was comprised of a caramel brittle, with the "Happy Anniversary" written in a small block of dark chocolate. We hope that Nina Compton and Compère Lapin are able to make a permanent comeback in Miami one day. We went to the Sunday Brunch Buffet at the Edge. When we booked the reservation, we received notification that we could get a parking validation for $10 with the brunch. That turned out not to be the case. They apparently stopped validating months ago and never informed us. As far as the buffet itself was concerned, we were greatly disappointed. The tomahawk steak looked good, but it was tasteless and tough. The stone crabs were small and not well cracked, so it was difficult to get the meat out. We also had to ask our waiter specifically for a crab fork. Service was substandard. Piles of used plates on many customer's tables. I guess when they can count on the mandatory 20% service charge, they don't need to work extra hard. We had seen in a recent YouTube video review that there was an à la carte brunch menu that was part of the buffet. Apparently they have done away with that, no more crab imperial avocado toast, roasted branzino or lamb kebabs. The pastries looked and tasted day old. The croissant was gummy and bready inthe middle. So, all in all, quite disappointing and no where near worth the $125 price tag and $45 parking fee. read more

FYI, review is based off my Compere Lapin pop up experience only. My friend spoke highly of Nina Compton and so we booked reservations and I am so happy we did. It was the opening weekend so they had live music going to set the mood and the first round of drinks had me feeling nice. I got the "A Night at the Oloffson" which was made with Claritin Le Rocher Haitian rum, passion fruit and ginger syrup and it was strong but tasty. For our appetizer, we got the crawfish hushpuppies and I loved the crisp exterior and soft pillowy interior and they weren't cheap with the crawfish meat. Then we moved onto to the Caribbean chopped salad that had a light and smooth coconut dressing and that was definitely my favorite. I also tried the pork belly with tamarind sauce and plaintain purée but which was good but I should've followed my heart and gotten the shrimp but will do so next time. The for the main course we got the Escovitch snapper and hot chicken with coconut grits and they were both delicious but I expected both to be more spicy. I skipped dessert this time, I know shocking, lol but I definitely enjoyed that drink so I got a second. This was a nice dining experience and I would there would be more Caribbean fine dining restaurants that served GOOD QUALITY food like this. read more

This place breaks my heart because it has so much potential, and I keep going back, and the food and ambiance are excellent, but the service is so bad, I finally had enough after tonight that I have to write a review and hope things improve. For context, we live nearby and I've probably been there over a dozen times. I had about 3 business breakfasts with a succesful enterpreneur and it became a running joke how surprisingly poor the service was considering it's the Four Seasons. I have been many times for drinks and small plates with my wife to sit out on the patio by the fire and the service is generally mediocre to poor. Tonight was so bad we just got up and left and probably won't be back. The hostess at the podium took us to the patio and pointed to the seats - didn't bring any menus or notify the wait staff - then just went back to her podium to stand. Why not help? We waited a long time and finally had to flag someone despite plenty of waiters going back and forth. This person said she'd let the wait staff know, and then after another long wait, a waiter comes and drops a single menu for the 2 of us on the table, without hardly stopping. Unbeleivable. I recently read Unreasonable Hospitality about how they run 11 Madison Park so I am even more alert to terrible service. At this point we got up and left and have to say the niight was pretty much ruined. Our one chance to get away from the kids for a while. We will try other places in Brickell from now on. This restaurant has fallen apart under new leadership. The food is subpar and, at times, awful. Undercooked mussels that had to be sent back just recently. Anchovies are sometimes missing from their poorly dressed Caesar salad. Soup of the day? Never great - at best, good; often, poor. Rock hard leeks despite a lovely dressing. French onion soup that tastes fine but is always served boiling hot. You will burn yourself. Also, they've stopped making their own butter and now hand out packets instead, which is disgraceful to the baker, who still does well. The ambiance lacks energy because nobody wants to come here anymore. It's a shame, really, because the interior is lovely. The bar remains popular, but few seem interested in dining - and it's obvious why. Edge is a mediocre restaurant at best, bringing shame to the Four Seasons brand that houses it. read more

In my personal opinion Edge is hands down the best brunch in Miami. There is a scene and a vibe to the place from inside to out, with live music playing. The large array of food selections is incredible with each dish thought out and executed so well. We chose the drink package with the brunch and it didn't disappoint. There was no feeling of being rushed out of the place or like we were held to a time frame like most Miami brunches. The staff was so hospitable with even Gregory the GM stopping by to inquire how everything is. You can tell they care and our passionate. Edge is located in the Four Seasons hotel on Brickell Ave. You must take the elevators to the 4th floor. The ambiance is very nice and it is upscale. The inside is very nice with a large bar just as you walk in. There is inside as well as outside seating. The staff are pleasant and work together to ensure that you are comfortable and have everything you need. It is pricey but everything in Brickell is. If you want something more upscale but they are not stuffy, this is the place to go. read more

Celebrated a very special occasion so I decided to splurge and do the $110 Sunday brunch here (includes menu items and coffee/tea but if you want cocktails, then it's the $145 option). Booked a reservation for the brunch through opentable. Aside from the buffet food, part of the all-you-can-eat includes made-to-order dishes on the menu. If you want any of the menu items, you should definitely order those as soon as you can, because it took nearly an hour for our food to arrive--there's plenty of buffet food for you to eat in the meantime but I was having to pace myself to make sure there was still room left when the ordered dishes arrived. From the menu, I ordered the lamb kabob and the grilled swordfish. The lamb kabob was well-seasoned, but to be honest not worth the wait. The swordfish was definitely a hit, especially with the spicy huancaina sauce that I can just eat by itself. Of the savory buffet items, my favorites had to be the paella, the stone crab, and the mushroom risotto which you can ask them to add shaved truffle on top. I was absolutely blown away by their desserts--all high quality. One of the reasons why I was drawn to this place was I saw the Strictly Dumpling video of this brunch showing the circle creme-filled croissants that I see are so popular in NYC. While it was good with the Nutella filling, to be honest, I wasn't as much of a fan of the exterior which was harder than a typical croissant. All the desserts were fantastic, but the ones that I'll probably remember for years to come are the 1. lemon meringue croissant (generously filled interior with lemon, and the meringue hugging the end like a snail shell), 2. the tres leches (moist cake bits drowning in the leches topped with sweet mango pieces and cream), and the mango passion fruit cheesecake (perfect tang of fruit pairing the creamy cheesy dessert). Whether it's worth the $110, I'd say yes if you enjoy the seafood like stone crab, shrimp, raw oysters, as well as a wide variety of top of the line dessert. They make sure to add other high-end ingredients like the truffle that you can add to the risotto, which was also warmed inside a giant cheese wheel. I even got to try honey comb for the first time, which made a great combination with the buffet of cheese and bread. For foodies who want to splurge a little for a special occasion, I'd say try the brunch for sure. Also I wanted to make it to the scheduled reservation on time so I ended up doing valet parking which was pricey--$35, but I didn't realize they do validated parking up to 3 hrs like the other reviewers here have mentioned. But if you can find street parking I'd opt for that just in case. read more

This was one of the highlights of my first trips to Miami. I came here awhile back but the brunch buffet on Sundays is absolutely worth the price. Price is $115. We just got the classic brunch that included unlimited soft drinks, tea, and coffee. A wonderful, atmospheric restaurant located in the Four Seasons in Brickell, Happy hour from 5PM-7PM. Mark & Luis from the bar are phenomenal bartenders and met all my expectations. The pool and outside bar area are walkable and you are able to take your drinks out to roam the outdoors. Bathrooms are very clean and everything is kept in extraordinary condition thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel and restaurant. This has been our go-to Thanksgiving destination for more than 10 years. We have had many a happy celebration here but last year was awful - undercooked turkey, clearing our own plates, indifferent service and what used to be a spectacular spread has been reduced to just so so offerings. No more a la carte menu, instead they brought us one 'small plate' of a 1oz piece of salmon. The cheap canned truffles have no truffle taste. They don't change the menu or offerings. Four of us went for the brunch this past Sunday and I my expectations were sky high, after all this is the Four Seasons! The spread is good...chilled shrimp, tomahawk steak, fruits, veggies, a pasta station and a large assortment of tasty desserts. However the highlight is stone crabs. Side note: We make an annual pilgrimage to Joe's on South Beach and have been for years . We know what a good stone crabs experience is all about. At this point I feel compelled to strongly suggest that the folks running this restaurant take a reconnaissance trip to Joe's to learn how it's done. Examples...your mustard sauce has no flavor, anyone eating smaller sized stone crabs (like these) MUST have a tiny fork, an empty bowl MUST be provided to place all of the cracked pieces of shells and finally, a warm / wet towel MUST be provided when the patrons are done eating. Everything else we ate was good and the serving crew was good AFTER one asked for what they needed (drink refills, the aforementioned tiny forks, empty bowls, refreshing our silverware and napkins after every course etc) . However this is THE FOUR SEASONS for God's sake. Act like it. I am happy to pay whatever you ask ($100+ per person for brunch) but will likely not go back until I read other reviews which tell me that the above concerns have been addressed. read more

Happy Hour Review We stopped at Edge for happy hour prior to our dinner downstairs at Caviar Russe. We are big oyster fans so could not resist the $1 happy hour oysters, 48 for two of us is probably more than most people eat, but quite a bargain considering we usually pay $4 per piece (or more) at many restaurants. However these are not the premium Kusshi, Kumamoto, Beausoieil nor Shogoku varieties, but rather an east coast bivalve that is quite salty/saline. To be fair to the restaurant we ordered some premium Champagne and other items. We have dined here before for dinner and found all of the dishes reliable. It's the type of food that will please you but not knock your socks off. The outdoor dining seating is very attractive. Pets are welcome. read more

Ugh, it's been awhile so I don't know what has changed in the kitchen but it was a completely different experience. Tuna Crudo was a far cry from the ceviches I had last time. I mean tuna quality was decent, it was sliced thin, it was raw, it had acid, but it was just meh. "Charred red pepper" had no char at all, and more of a jarred/pimento quality. Fried parsley was a total misfire. The Sea Bass Wellington, came with like a tablespoon of sauce, with some steamed asparagus plunked next to it. But the main problem was that the seafood inside this British inspired dish, was wrapped in mushy, fishy, seaweed, with no mention of it on the menu whatsoever. It was extremely strong and completely overpowered the delicate seafood and tiny pool of butter sauce. Pastry, mild fish, butter sauce and...seaweed, totally unnecessary and just a terrible idea/major fail at fusion. Both the server and the manager noticed/were informed that I did not enjoy it. And while the manager did offer to bring me something else, I told her we had already ordered dessert. She said she'd go check on it, and I completely expected something to be removed from the check but nope, full bill arrived. The lamb chops, which my date ordered, were extremely salty with an overwhelming smoke flavor. I'd say maybe smoked salt, but they actually had the pink coloration that accompanies smoked meat. And again, NO mention of this on the menu, which if there had been, neither of us would have ordered either dish. The Devil's food cake dessert, although more the shape of a very small eclair, and more of a chocolate mousse consistency, was very good and a lovely presentation. But the Warm Donuts were a laughable plate with three tiny Chinese restaurant quality sugar coated, fried dough balls, stuck to the plate with cold dulce de leche and served with an ice cold chocolate dipping sauce. Other positives to be fair: the truffle mashed potatoes were excellent and the spinach ravioli appetizer, an odd ball item on the menu, was well executed. It's really a shame because at one point they were killing it and it's a great location with a lot of lovely, comfortable lounge areas to have drinks before or after your meal. If I ever go back, I'll stick to drinks, steak and sides. read more

This time we just discovered the terrace that is excellent for some drinks after the office or an early dinner. We sat at the bar to watch the Olympics and have some drinks and ended up having dinner for Miami Spice. Our bartender was super busy, the place was hopping, but still he managed to go out his way and to attend to our needs. The food was as usual good, I just think the menu is a little conservative. I would just like to have seen in a place like this more innovative menu with trendy ingredients and new flavors. Drinks were right on point. The service throughout the night was pretty good. They had a variety of food and drinks, but here is what we ordered: - Chorizo & Cheddar Croquetas - they look like mini mozzarella sticks, but once you bite into it, you're hit with a delicious mixture of spicy chorizo and cheddar. The outside was crispy, which made it a perfect combo. - Tostones - these came with an avocado chimichurri dip and it was so good! I don't really know how to explain it, but it's like an elevated guacamole. - Sullivan Street Sourdough Toast - the toast itself was just alright but the dips that came with it is what made it taste so much better. - Crispy Chickpea Falafel - like it says in the name, the falafels were super crispy and flavorful. I honestly could not tell that this was a vegetarian app. - Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli - I'm not usually a cheese person, but I still loved the whole dish. There wasn't too much where it felt overwhelming. I mainly got it cuz there were mushrooms on it. Can never have too much of that. - French fries - they come with a truffle aioli sauce and I am a sucker for anything with trufle in it. It's a must! - Truffle Mashed Potatoes - again, I'm a lover of truffle, so this was delicious - My friends all had different cuts of steak and they were all tender and well seasoned. Sunday March 9, 2pm seating. We were so looking forward to experiencing this well known brunch. It looked amazing, we were seated and that's where it ended. We were at the table literally in front of the live music. It was so loud we couldn't even talk to each other. When they weren't playing, they put on a CD. It was totally uncessary to have Spanish mariachi music blaring. The food looked amazing, well presented and was ok. We had just spent a week on a cruise so big food displays were known to us. The meal was enjoyable until they sat a couple with TWO DOGS, next to us. We were INSIDE, not outside. At first they had the dogs up on the booth but the waitress made them put them on the floor. Every time the waitress approached the table, the dogs snapped at her. They had brought a mat and water bowl out but the dogs bei g so anxious had knocked it over so water was all.over the floor. The couple was feeding the dogs steak and crab from their plates the whole time too, best fed dogs in Miami. Needless to say, the $115 per person brunch which ended up being $300 for 2 after taxes, fees and tip was just not worth it. The food presentation was amazing but the band being too loud and having dogs behaving badly ruined the entire experience. I have to say this is one of my favorite places to come for happy hour and it also lasts till eight. The food never disappoints and the drinks are always on point and the bartenders are always really cool here although it can seem like it's exclusive because it's in the back of the four seasons it's a chill spot to come hang. As far as the dishes go the steak tartare is extremely well balanced the mellowed out flavor of umami coming from the truffle really balances the acidity of the steak tartare along with the texture and crunch of the baguette I order this every time I come here. Never ceases to hit every flavor note Not to mention they have these amazing potato chips that they serve which will probably ruin your appetite cause you can't stop munching, but worth it. buon appetito! read more
